Within two hours I received a voice mail from Spencer who stated his schedule for that day and the next so I could get back with him for a good time to stop by. I called and arranged for Spencer to come out the next day to help us with some small pieces of shingles that had blown off in the recent windstorms. He called that following morning and stated he was available earlier than schedule and would it be all right to come by which I thought was very nice. Spencer inspected the entire roof, identified one area where the small pieces around a chimney stack were missing and provided us with photos showing some hail damage from past storms. He also stated our shingles were in very good shape and may need to be replaced in 5 - 7 years. We told Spencer we had replacement shingles. He took one, made all the necessary repairs and sealed nail holes across the roof where he felt it was needed for no cost! He said he wanted to earn our business! I don't know anything about roofing but some of the things I was told couldn't have been correct. I got a total of 5 bids and 3 of those I completely did not trust. Lots of weird games going on as I was getting bids. Marc at Peak was hands down the best to deal with. I actually feel bad because he was the fourth person I got a bid from and I was very guarded and skeptical. Marc was extremely straightforward and in my opinion very honest. He made it very easy. So easy I kept wondering what the catch was going to be. There wasn't one. The range in bid prices was stunning. Even with the same brand of shingles. Peak Roofing's price came in towards the lower end of the bid range so I felt I got good service and quality at a fair price. The roof is such an expensive repair and obviously there's lots of money out there based on the trucks some of these roofing guys drive. Definitely at times an overwhelming experience.
