I had…read morefour trash bags of empty protein bottles and was worried about waiting in line while holding all of them but that wasn't the case. Despite that, the process of dropping off my bottles was insanely smooth. All I did was approach one of the workers for some assistance, and they directed me to one of the baskets. From there they helped me sort through the different plastics I had. They weighed it, gave me a receipt, and I turned it in to the front booth for my cash. The process took around 10-15 minutes. Staff was super chill and they were even patiently assisting someone else on the side who accidentally turned in something they shouldn't have. Being immediately helped, short and smooth process, and additional help with sorting my recycling? Now that's the kind of recycling center I would come back to.

They often refuse to take wine bottles at the Alessandro location of Sunset Recycling Center. I got…read moreinto a shouting match with the recycling center's employee and manager (Manny). They said THEY DIDN'T HAVE ROOM for my bottles and they expected me to go away! This was the THIRD time the bottle return has been refused. I finally, after complaining loudly, got them to accept the bottles. How outrageous is this? All for TEN DOLLARS! SHAME! The State of California forces you to pay a bottle deposit fee but then, refuses to return the fee if you return the BOTTLE. Just OUTRAGEOUS! I filed a complaint with the state of California. Here is where you can file a complaint with this outrageous "business." https://calrecycle.ca.gov/bevcontainer/complaints/ I took pictures too. And I hope CalRecycling gets them. SHAME on this company. We should all file complaints when they refuse our returns!
