After dropping my puppy across the street for a groom thought I'd drop in for a 30 min foot massage. I only had 30 min because I had another appointment but was in desperate need of a massage as I am 8 months pregnant. The woman I had basically lightly stroked my legs and feet for 30 min then charged me the price for a full hour AND said mandatory $20 tip minimum. Her massage was definitely not worth a tip that was just $10 less than the cost of the whole massage and since when are tips mandatory?? When I inquired further she looked at her coworker and giggled and said she could do $10 then I saw her enter another amount on the keypad. Shady AF. There is a sign saying this is a legitimate business "no hanky panky" but I did take note every customer who walked in during the 30 min I was there was an older gentleman, most of whom seemed to have an established rapport w a masseuse. I went with my mom this morning & the massage was nothing short of amazing. We paid $15 for 50 mins + $10 mandatory tip which was fine (pretty good deal) I got a male masseuse and my mom got a female masseuse and both were very skilled. When we got there it was empty so they took us immediately (1:30 pm on a Saturday) but gradually more people started coming in so to be safe it's best to make an appointment beforehand! They advertise $35 for 1 hr massage and 30 min footwork. I had a massage only - it was ok. At one point the guy stopped massaging me and left the room only to come back and drop hot stones in my back without any warning! I tried playing nice and made couple jokes but they were lost in translation since he spoke very little English if any. Then it was time to pay for service. And boy was it fun! Stupid me for not reading the yelp reviews!!!! I refused footwork and still paid $35, gave tip $5. They asked for another $5. First the masseur did ( surprisingly, in ok English), I refused politely. The place had Chinese soft pop playing. Typically I like the music to be just instrumentals; better ambiance in my opinion.... When it came down to tipping, I gave 20% because I felt that the massage was just average and wasn't anything phenomenal. Based on Jenn's advice, I went to get a massage at Green Apple. I went in and wasn't impressed with the place. It's a bit dingy and can you please cut out the Chinese elevator music! Anyway, I got into the room, undressed, and sat on the table as I wasn't sure where I needed to place my head. Once the masseuse came in, she ripped a hole in the paper lining at one end of the table and told me place my head there. The massage was good. Better than American masseuses but not as good as a Korean masseuse. Plus, the oil smelled funky and I'm about to jump in the shower to get the funky smell off me. But, for $35, it was quite a deal but I just prefer to go to a nicer massage parlor. Call me a snob but I don't care. I came to this place for 60 minute massage, which cost only $36. The staff here is very friendly and professional. The woman who did my back did an exceptional job, especially because I have a lot of knots and muscle tension in my back. The music here is very relaxing, and the even play the soundtrack from Amélie. Overall, the facility is very clean and relaxing. I'm almost getting angry just thinking about be service. My mother and I were loyal customers. I paid for 1.5 hour massage (1 hour body, 30 min feet). But after the body massage, they said it was another 1-2 hour wait for a foot massage because all the employees took new customers. I was furious and told them I already paid you for the service after the body massage and before the foot massage, for the price of both. i went yesterday(11th january 2020) at around 7.30 pm for a foot massage for myself and body work for my hubby. the guy in the front said foot massage is not available, but then when we said i need the foot work and my hubby would get a body work he agreed which seemed dodgy..the place smells like some grandma perfume/powder. its somewhat clean but nothing fancy, also all the employees are bit rude and in a rush. they don't understand english! its very hard to make them understand to be gentle! the lady almost broke my husband's back with her elbow while giving massage on back! even though he asked to be gentle and he doesn't want any massage on back only on shoulder! however my foot massage was ok if not good. the guy didn't know how to relax with massage i mean i took foot massage at other places and felt a lot better. they charge $15 plus $10 minimum tips for foot work for 50 min. which is $25 at least. for this cheap rate the service is ok. for body work $35 for 60 min but they actually gave 50 min. this one has no minimum tip rate but at least $10-$15 is decent. if you are looking for cheap rate and not so great service i recommend this place. but don't expect anything fancy. when i came back home i saw blue/purple bruises on my right feet cause the guys was so hard on my feet at the end. i felt relaxed for 10 minutes out if 50 min session. it was more like a rushing n rubbing than a relaxing foot massage! read more

My friend told me that she has had actual massage and it was worth it for $35. So I went back. My back was killing me and Massage Envy was packed for the day. CLEANLINESS:it was clean. They kept changing sheets and towels as the patrons came in. Women and men were customers, so I felt better. MASSAGE: I doubt they received a certificate for what they call a massage but it did help my back. The lady never asked me what was bothering me, or if too hard or if I was comfortable. Very basic service. COST:$35=1hour TIP:30% required I gave $10 for 1hour and a half massage. That would be a 20%fee and the woman actually brought over a big poster showing suggested tip are 1hr =$10 1 1/2=$15 But... That would bring the tip to 30%! I've been going to this spa on and off for the past year usually to get the kinks out of my back. It has always been a no frills, go in, get your massage and leave. Today, after the lady failed to get my knots out, when I went up to the register to pay, she demanded a 45% tip and stated that the massage itself is cheap enough, I can afford the tip. What the heck?! Last time I checked, tip is completely optional and I can give you as much as I see fit. Ugh avoid this place. I just got a massage because I had bad lower back pain and shoulder/neck pain, and am impressed how much better I feel. They used a lot of heat (towels and Chinese massage balls) and medium to strong pressure. I have had a number of massages by MTs, but thought this one was equally good and better than many I have had. The atmosphere is not great, but for most of the time, you are face down on the table, so the atmosphere doesn't matter much. She also worked a lot of pressure points and paid extra attention to the places where I had pain. The only thing was that I was told after leaving a $5 tip that $10 tip for an hour long massage is minimum. I am happy to give $10 because the massage was so cheap, but I didn't know and it seemed a little awkward. Overall, very good experience and I am grateful. read more

My friend and I went for the first time. She had a good massage, so I will give the place that- one lady there is good. My massage however was very painful! i kept asking her to be more gentle, but she didn't listen. it hurt. Then, as we were leaving my friend and I both decided to give a 20% tip, eventhough the massage was not that great. We thought that was very generous and the lady yelled at us! Although the massage is well priced at $35, apparently a tip of at least $10 (almost 30% is expected). Neither is the fact that they expect a tip well over the usual and customary for the fee. I was giving an $8 tip(23%) and was quickly ambushed by the masseuse at the front desk asking "Didn't I give a good massage?" You should be giving at least $10 for a tip. When I responded that the tip was over the usual and customary 20%, they advised that it should not be based on a percentage. Nowhere do they post any warning of the tip expectation. Why would a business put themself in the position of insulting a customer by telling them that their tip is not enough? If the expectation is that your tip be a certain amount, it should be posted somewhere or explained when the pricing is explained. It's true that the workers are loud and everything can be heard from next guest room as explained by the other users. However, I was shocked that after using the same masseuse for 3 times in a row, she demanded that I pay at least 30% because I always pay 30 percent. she asked me to pay her 30% because that she expected by her, not mentioned anywhere at the store. I paid 26% tips because I didn't have enough cash that day and I didn't want to charge because they charge additional $5 when card is used, which they don't tell you.They also set the timer about 7/8 minutes less than what you want. I always felt cheated my first few times and I ordered 90 minutes and my iPhone alarm went off after about 10 minutes she left the room. When I went to pay, I mentioned to my masseuse about the time after she literally demanded that I at-least pay her 30% and she made a face at me when I told her. I can't believe how unprofessional and dishonest they are. For foot massage it says 15 in large bold prints on the door and in small handwritten print behind the counter it demands $10...I will be seeking for a different location this point forward. We have had many massages in the past, including in Europe, on cruise ships and of course here in the USA and we can truly say that the massages we got today were as good as the best massages we had before. I went to get a massage here with a friend because I've been having shoulder pain due to tense muscles. The place is a little nail salon with private rooms for full body massages. The staff are relatively nice, however their English is limited. Their massage technique was not very comfortable, as they kept rubbing my muscles over my shoulder blade. The pressure was too aggressive in that they did not gradually progress from light to deep pressure. They kept pushing my shoulder blade out towards my side, which physiologically promotes poor posture. It was not relaxing at all and the massage oil was not pleasant either. The staff clearly does not appear to have good knowledge of human anatomy (regarding muscles of the back) for effective massage technique. Both my friend and I left being in more pain than when we got there. I expected to be slightly sore, but it was unacceptable that I couldn't lift my arm without shoulder pain and a clicking sensation each time I moved my arm up.
