This place was a few blocks away and maybe because it was 9pm on a rainy Sunday, we had no problem getting a seat right away. I ordered their SPICY MARGARITA. It was spicy and so good! For dinner I picked the prawn rice bowl. That, too, was spicy but it was really tasty. It contained 6 prawns covered in some sauce that contained a lot of flavor. I would have licked the bowl. We were hungry so the 23 min wait for our food felt long. But ultimately it was worth it. The two ladies helping us were very nice and even with one mis-communication, served us well. .

This was easily one of the best meals I had in Toronto. We made a reservation about a week in…read moreadvance and the staff was very accommodating. They pride in using fresh and local ingredients served creatively, and always with new ideas and dishes with the tasting menu changing constantly to match what's in season. Some of the dishes really emphasized the freshness and the quality of the ingredients, showcased in our starting dish of asparagus, egg confit, cure pork and leeks. The salt was minimal, and it tasted so clean, fresh, and well put together. Paneer with makhni was also included playing heavily on the delicious Indian flavors that were so full of umami taste, I could not believe this dish did not have meat. The chicken was one of my favorites with a smoked butter sauce. I could not believe white meat could be this tender and moist and absorb flavor so well. The fish was also great, as was the dessert, a rhubarb tiramisu to give a tangy contrast to the mascarpone cream. This was tasting menu #248, and the menu will change about every 2 weeks it seems like, which is amazing. Finally, I loved that explicitly state that tips are not accepted despite the amazing service and elevated food. I definitely would want to come back again, knowing there's a lot more creative ideas to try in different dishes while having a very solid cooking foundation.

We noticed a party of 4 that arrived after us who was also waiting were offered drinks due to the wait time while we weren't. We did get sat a couple minutes before them but since they had been asked their drink orders prior to being seated, they were attended to much quicker than us. We didn't receive our drinks until 30 minutes after being seated during which we received the salad we ordered. The duck was great but I wasn't a fan of the pasta I ordered as it more on the salty side. I would have to say my favorite dish was the Brussel sprout salad - super fresh and tasty. I did like that they had non alcoholic wine options. Disappointed that this was the experience I had coming here on our anniversary. The staff the served us was very friendly, but I wouldn't recommend coming here for a special occasion.

The restaurant is in Kensington Market, just a short walk from the TTC. Lasagna This is pretty much what I expect from a good lasagna. The top had a nice golden crust while the pasta layers underneath still had great texture. The meat sauce was packed with well-browned ground beef, giving it a rich, hearty flavor, and the melted mozzarella tied everything together beautifully. The tomato sauce was a little more acidic than my personal preference, but overall it's a well-executed lasagna with solid fundamentals. Tiramisu You can usually trust an Italian restaurant to make a good tiramisu, and this one definitely delivered. The first bite was full of coffee and liqueur aromas. The mascarpone was rich without feeling heavy, and the ladyfingers were fully soaked while still keeping just a little structure. What impressed me most was the balance between the mascarpone and the ladyfingers--they melted together into one smooth, moist bite instead of feeling like separate layers. At $9, it's the kind of dessert I'd happily stop by and pick up even without having a full meal. Even though the weather wasn't great today, this tiramisu definitely brightened my day. Happy 3rd anniversary! Wishing the restaurant many more successful years ahead, and I'll definitely be back to try more dishes.
