It took us a year to make all of our decisions about the scope and details of our project and Jacob patiently, expertly discussed every decision-point with us, over time, via text, phone and several stops out to our house.. His teams replaced our roof and gutters and upgraded the facade of the front of our house. All team members were timely and friendly through the process and Jacob followed up to ensure every detail was top notch. The beautiful results are the talk of the neighborhood. Highly recommend!

We had two condo units in our building update windows as well as two back hallway windows, and Jacob provided a highly competitive quote. He was kind and patient when we waited for other unit owners in the building to decide, and did not push us to move quicker or make a decision when we were not yet ready. Ordering windows took a few weeks and teams on install day moved swiftly and kept the area clean after! I also want to note that we live on the 3rd floor of a condo building and many contractors said they could not install and/or needed additional materials, external infrastructure and costs to do the project, but Jacob made it seamless with bringing windows up the stairs, and doing an internal install, which incurred no extra install costs. This was also great as it did not impact our neighbors and kept the project contained and clean. Jacob really cares about being transparent and has earned our trust, and I would 100% recommend him and his team to anyone looking to install new windows in their home. Overall, we really highly recommend Jacobs 1 Construction! I cannot say enough great things about the quality of their work, competitive pricing, and their dedication to their customers.

Update 7/2/18 I was able to get a hold of both the company…read moreowner Olegario and Brian. We set up a meeting and met this past weekend. They signed off on the release of representation for my insurance. We did both talk about my issues and concerns and they were able to answer the questions i had about the whole situation including my red flags. After speaking with them now i deff. Feel more comfortable about the situation and company. If we had done this from the beginning we would of very likely stayed with them. I work in customer service and this is what several of my reviews are about. How a customer is handled tells a lot about the company's values in my eyes. Though the experience was not the best at the beginning, they did pull through at the end. They ended up providing me some tips and apologized for the situation. ---------------------------------------------- This company was referred to us from our neighbors. They did a free consultation with the owner of the house and determined we could qualify for a new roof from our insurance. They requested the owner to sign off on the paperwork. The owner being my father who doesn't speak, write or read fluent english. My father signed off on the paperwork. I got home and the company was still there talking to my father. Right away I got a bad vibe. I asked to see all the papers my dad signed. They only showed me one piece of paper which was supposed to be the estimated cost of repair, instead if numbers the whole quote sections said TBD. I asked about this and they said they would work with our insurance to determine how much they would charge. I thought this was unusual as a quote/estimate shouldn't have anything to do with our insurance. At this point they seemed almost nervous. My father gave them permission to call me and follow up with me about the claim. They said they would contact my insurance to initiate the claim and then they would call me to set up the appointment. They took down my information Fast forward about 10 days later we get a letter from the insurance company stating they got a claim adjuster contract which indicated the adjuster would represent us and that he had set up an appointment for early October. I immediately called the insurance to see what was going on. My insurance told me they are representing us and verified the apt date. He also said any elegible claim funds would be paid out to us and the adjuster. I explained we were never made aware of this. And asked he sent me a copy of the paperwork he received. He sends me a contract that the sales rep avoided showing me when i asked to see everything that was signed. The contract had different handwriting and ink color on different sections of the form. Not sure if they purposely refuse to show me this or what. I called the rep who had my dad sign whatever docs and demand to cancel and not move forward with the claim. He said i needed to talk to Olegario. He said he would give me his number. He finally txt me it 2 hours later after i told him i he never sent it. I leave olegario a msg. My call is never returned. I call the sales rep again. Tell him i got no call back he then gives me Brians number who is the claims adjuster. I also left him a msg. Never heard back. Call him back 2 days letter and he answers. I explained we wanted to cancel and he said that was fine. He said verbal confirmation was all we needed. Per the contract he sent my insurance. The cancelation must be done in writing he says no. I argue with him back and forth and request a written confirmation that he is no longer representing us on the claim he finally agrees to send me something he said i would get the next day. Never got anything. I calle him 2 days later no response. I called text and emailed him several times that week and no response.

We started the process in early January and were told the windows would not be ready until perhaps early March, but were pleasantly surprised when Mike said they were ready early. We would have had them the first week of February had it not been for the famous below 0 degree temperatures in the area that week. We had them installed the second week of February instead. Pros: -Received and had windows installed earlier than anticipated. -Took 2.5 days for all of our 27 windows and back glass door replacement. Due to cold temperatures, they worked one at a time so the house wouldn't get too cold. -was honest and fair on pricing and received referral bonus up front. -Mike always answered our calls with questions promptly and personally would come by to inspect and/or help facilitate letting his vendors in if needed. -You could tell the difference in drafts in the corrected areas from inside day 1. No further drafts and they look great! Cons: -4-5 months after installation and 3 of our 27 windows have leaks. We alerted Mike to this and he sent his worker to take a look - they said it was due to the trim on the outside that they didn't replace. Before installation, they indicated that it is not part of their services to replace. However, they didn't tell us before or during that our trims were so old that they would leak - we would have replaced them prior to the new windows if we knew this. We asked if we needed to replace them before and they said no. One of the windows that is leaking does not even have trim on it. When they came out to resolve, they added caulk around the trim and bent flashing for us for the front windows. The flashing should have been installed in the initial installation to prevent leaks. We are not able to get it installed until the new trim pieces are up... Even though they did not inform us about possible leaks, they should have removed the trim and put a water barrier in place before installation and before new trim was able to be installed. -Mike and his installers have a bit of an issue with taking accountability for issues. We were disappointed when his installers broke the interior of a window upon installation - it was safe to use, and they put cardboard over it, but the resolution took 20 seconds and Mike's installers insist it was somehow the manufacturer's fault. It took weeks for us to have this corrected, even though, again, resolution took 20 seconds. -While in the process of service correction for said window, the manufacturer was inflexible on timing and was scheduling more than a week out. Mike's response was that it isn't in his hands. No apology for the inconvenience of the broken window or the inflexibility of his vendor. -The manufacturing vendor cancelled day of (1 hour before). Reschedule availability wasn't until 10 days later. -The caulking the install team did had bubbles and cracks in some windows and just didn't look like a professional did it. When we told Mike of this issue, he said caulking is an "art" and his people are really just installers and don't need to be perfect at caulking. We personally feel that if installing windows is 100% of their jobs, caulking would be part of that job and they should look 100% well done. We had to redo some of it right off the bat. -Every issue that came up, Mike would just say he hoped we could focus on the positive aspects of the experience. It felt very dismissive. -They left aluminum scraps scattered across the backyard where our young children play. Cleanup in the back specifically was just not done to standards. We referred him to my mother's windows and they generally did okay, but did break one of her personal stained glass art by not being careful. No compensation or resolution was offered, minus an apology. We appreciated his team's work and like the products in general, but there is definitely room for improvement in the customer service department and potentially the product itself with the leaks. Considering part of his selling point was 100% satisfaction, we were left disappointed in that aspect.
