Two years ago, I specifically confirmed with the office that they accepted our new insurance and was told that they did. I later learned that they did not, which resulted in approximately $600 in unexpected out-of-pocket expenses. More recently, I was unable to make an appointment because I was unable to secure childcare for my two young children. I was charged a $75 fee. Given my previous experience with the incorrect insurance information, I reached out multiple times asking if they would consider waiving the fee and explaining the circumstances. I received no response, despite technically still being a patient of the practice. The experience left me feeling that there is very little flexibility or accountability when an administrative mistake is made by the practice, while patients are held to very rigid financial policies. It's disappointing because I genuinely liked my dermatologist, but communication and the overall patient experience matter too. After my experiences here, I will be transferring my care elsewhere and would encourage others to consider the administrative and billing experience when choosing this practice.

She received a reminder about the appointment a few days prior. When she arrived at the office, it was closed for the holiday. The foolish response from the front desk was that a third party sends the reminders. What she neglected to recall is that the front desk makes the appointments. Today, my sons went for appointments. One son just had a minor surgery a month ago and made the follow-up appointment. When they arrived, they said that they didn't have a record for either of them AND that they didn't have their appointments in their system. They looked a bit more and realized that they had their files and their appointments on their old system which they started using last August. They would not be seen today. AGAIN, what they're neglecting to realize is that they made the mistake because the appointments were made in December, after they moved to the new system. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
