When I heard that Dr. Wise had opened her own practice (almost 8 years ago now), I happily followed her to Derm Wellesley and am delighted that I did! Emily and her team (there is a wide array of specialists within the practice) are smart and caring, and can address your issue with expertise, whether it be an annual skin check, Mohs surgery, or a cosmetic procedure. I am extremely fair-skinned, so am always concerned about staying on top of any issues that may arise. Derm Wellesley has met my needs and more. This female-forward practice is accommodating, provides a high standard of care, and the office itself is truly immaculate and lovely. Wow! So rude it's crazy. I got a phone consultation and the NP simply speed read through a script (that didn't even explain what the procedure was) and then when she was done with said script we sat in silence, I asked what the procedure was and she answered something super unhelpful and undetailed. I call the office manager and someone answered who won't tell me her name and isn't even the office manager. read more

I have never felt so positive about a medical practice in my life - and I'm 64 and have been to dozens and dozens of doctors over the years! There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this practice. The doctors are experienced and knowledgeable, with excellent "bedside" manner. The entire staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The care I've received there has been excellent - for both routine dermatology check-ups and care, as well as for some minor cosmetic services. You don't have to wait for months to get an appointment, and they rarely leave you sitting in the waiting room for more than a few minutes. I highly recommend this practice! read more

Derm Wellesley is primarily a cosmetic dermatology office so if you have traditional dermatology needs I would not recommend going here. In addition, the non medical staff is unprofessional. The receptionist was talking about me in front of other staff, and in ear shot of other patients, without knowing I was standing behind her. The office manager was not phased by the encounter. I've had an incredibly frustrating experience at this office. Since starting Accutane here, I've had four appointments, and every single one has been problematic. Despite clearly stating that I have an HMO and requesting to stay with the same provider, they've switched me to a new doctor every time. If it's not that issue, it's the providers switching my appointments around, being late--or, in today's case, not showing up at all. I even left work for this appointment, only to be left waiting, despite emphasizing my concerns and the fact that I've run out of medication. To make matters worse, the receptionists are unhelpful and unpleasant. You can't get ahold of them by calling. I deeply regret choosing this practice but feel stuck since I've already started treatment. I rarely write reviews, but this office has been so consistently bad that I wish I had known before spending any money here. read more

Have to agree that the front office staff are so unpleasant. Was told by the billing department that if finances were a concern I should have seen my primary care instead. The hostility of the front desk, the unreasonable prices (for low risk and low complicated items), and overall fine care, does not make this place worth it. Please consider somewhere else. read more

First, let me start by saying that my dermatologist is very personable and easy to chat with, however, she didn't resolve any of my issues over the course of 4 months and was eager to keep prescribing more and more medication. My office visit for 11 minutes of checkups followed by an expensive prescription that didn't do anything for me was $475 for an office visit, the prices are absurd and not justifiable, am I paying for the office decor or my visit. On top of that, I had done a laser over the course of 3 sessions to help get rid of my acne. $700 later the biggest waste of money. read more

The doctors and medical staff in this practice are amazing, but be careful of the front office staff. I called 3.5 weeks after getting Botox for the first time when it seemed to have worn off. The woman who answered the phone said that complimentary touch-ups are usually done within two weeks, but that they'd make an exception, and she scheduled an appointment. She called back the next day and asked to reschedule; she said the doctor wasn't available. So we worked to find another appointment, which was several days after the first appointment. I rearranged holiday weekend travel and woke up super early to make it there for a 7:20am appointment. When I arrived, the receptionist was extremely rude - I greeted her and she was short and curt, and soon after my arrival she walked away to whisper to someone behind the wall. I was then escorted back to an exam room by a lovely nurse, who explained that I wasn't eligible for a touch-up because my initial appointment was two months ago (it wasn't - it was six weeks prior). I was extremely upset, because I'd spoken to someone on the phone several times about this. We acknowledged it was outside of the two weeks, but I was told they'd make an exception, and then that appointment was canceled through no fault of my own. I'll continue to come for skin checks (my doctor is awesome) but for treatments I'll look elsewhere. I'd give this practice one star if not for the amazing physicians. What a complete waste of precious time. read more

Do not go here. I triple checked that they took my insurance prior to making my appointment. They said the did. I went in to have a typical screening. I checked with the doctor (she was great) that she had my insurance. When I checked out, again, I checked they had my insurance. I've been fucked over like this before, so I made sure they wouldn't. Well, guess what. I got a bill for $650! For a skin check up which took 5 minutes. The office manager would not help me and half the time wouldn't even acknowledge my emails. Such a horrible experience and outrageously overpriced. They would not price adjust one bit. I tried to speak with the owner/manager and the office manager didn't let me. Horrible. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Emily Wise as my dermatologist for many years now, even prior to her new practice, and I have never been happier! She has a great disposition and completely puts me at ease. Her space feels more like a spa than a doctors office. AND I can usually get on her schedule within a few weeks (which is contrast to most other doctors that book many months out!). I live in downtown Boston, so usually don't have doctors in the suburbs - but the commute is totally worth it. Her new office space is first class; her staff are knowledgeable, professional and friendly; and she herself is a miracle worker.
