She is as caring as she is expert, and thorough. Twice, she has detected very difficult to identify skin cancer lesions on me (I am exceedingly grateful!). Both were removed by Dermatology Partners' Mohs Surgeon, Carin Litani, who is a highly skilled Mohs Surgeon. The Dermatology Partners staff are kind and efficient. On my most recent visit, I met a new Dermatologist to Dermatology Partners, a Dermatologist who trained in Boston in adult and pediatric dermatology. I started off seeing Dr. Litani for my annual skin checks and various skin concerns. She impressed me with how knowledgeable she was. That worrisome bump on my lower eyelid - she knew right away what it was. I also liked how patient and thorough she was. It took me some time to work up the courage to do some cosmetic work with her, and I'm so glad I did. She listened carefully to what I wanted; gave me her recommendations; and told me what to expect every step of the way. When I arrived for the appointment the reception desk staff was nice & put me at ease. I'd made the appointment bcz of a spot that had come up on my skin a week before, & was painful. A quick look-up online indicated that I should make an appointment w a professional. When I was taken to the exam room shortly after arrival, the tech was pleasant & put me at ease but pushed hard for an up-sell to a full body exam, which I knew I did not need. Bcz of a few moles & other 'questionable' spots on my face & upper body, I agreed to an upper body exam. I was told by the tech that the Nurse Practitioner (NP) would "...carefully examine...entire upper body." The NP came in and asked why I was there. (She had no idea what she was supposed to do w me.) After a look at the spot on my skin that had prompted my making the appointment, I was given a sample cream to use for a week. (It's now a few days later. The spot is getting better.) She would have left had I not said that she was to do an upper body exam. Then, she said, "What do u want me to look at?". I hesitated as her words put me off. I indicated a mole. "Hmm hmm, it's fine. What else?" I said forget it bcz I had no confidence in this operation. The next time I have a skin issue, I will go elsewhere. P.S. When I'd called for an appointment, I asked for a dermatologist. I was told that only a nurse practitioner and a physician's assistant were available. After I agreed to either one, I was told, "Even though she's a NP, she's still a 'dermatologist'. Even the PA is a 'dermatologist'. Go elsewhere. read more

I was trying to make an appointment with their aesthetics clinic after a recommendation from a friend. I was on hold for a while and when I final got through I started to asked about making an appointment - the women interrupted me and said this wasn't a convenient time as she was with a patient and could she call me back? I was like sure that's fine...expecting her to ask for my details and then she started saying thanks for your interest we'll give you a call back. I stopped her as I could sense she was about to put the phone down and asked if she actually wanted my contact details so she could call me back and then she slammed the phone down on me. So unprofessional and rude I was really shocked. I called back to the main line and informed someone of my experience on their new patient line. They were very nice and then tried to forward me to someone else in that department. I left a voicemail but I doubt they will call me back as the same person probably recognised my accent (in English). Doubt I will pursue if that's the way they treat new clients read more

I recently had an appointment at Dermatology Partners and was so happy with the results and the doctors that I had to post this. Dr. Litani and Dr. Price couldn't have been more attentive. I don't know why I have even bothered going to a male dermatologist in the past. Women just have a natural instinct to be nurturing and empathetic. I had seven syringes of Voluma in my cheeks and around the mouth and chin area. It was a long procedure and both doctors kept me calm and the time went by very quickly. This post is specifically for the receptionist Marsha (or Marcia), who showed to be very condescending, unprofessional and rude. Every one else who works at Dermatology Partners, Inc. is fine. I first walked in and was greeted with a simple look, no smile or no "good morning", which is fine (even though receptionists are the face of the practice). Then she got on the phone and a couple seconds later says my referral was not in. She then gave me a notepad and a pen so I could call my daughter's pediatrician. In the meantime, other patient called and a few minutes later she looked at me with this most annoyed face and a rude and loud voice "Can you just step away if you have to be on the phone?" Excuse me, she had never asked me to make the phone call to my daughter's pediatrician away from the front desk or in the hallway, which I would have understood if she has asked in the beginning or in a nicer way like, "I'm sorry, but it's hard to understand the person on the line, could you please move a little further?" I would have stepped away had she asked nicely or even politely. Also, where am I supposed to put the notepad she gave me to make notes? On the wall in the hallway? I sat down and after she hung up the phone I went to tell her that she should not treat the patients in a poor and rude way. She started arguing with me in front of other patients that were waiting and at one point she yelled: "I'm still talking and you walk away?", then I came back and we continued arguing in front of everyone. Then she was the one who got up and left while I was talking to her. I can't recall all the things that were spoken, but this just proves that she SHOULD NOT be dealing with people if she doesn't know how to treat them right. This is not the first bad review about the receptionists in this practice. After the appointment, I called the office manager and spoke to Jason who was very understanding and apologetic about the whole incident. I told him I'm glad Dr. Melissa Burnett is leaving because while this receptionist is in the practice I WILL NEVER GO BACK to that place. I am pregnant and this was extremely stressful for me. While this lady is still there, I most definitely would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I've long hoped that if I accrue enough freckles they'll just start to blend together and form something resembling a tan. Yeah...step back...a little further...now squint...tan yet? I'm Irish with the pale translucence to prove it. Combine this fact with a family history of skincare scares and I came to the conclusion that I really should keep up with those suggested annual derm. visits. I call in early January and I'm given the next available appointment- 4 weeks out. Splendid! No problem! A month later I walked into the pristine office and approach the receptionist to check in. A sign informs me that they have free Wifi and iPads for patients to fiddle with as they wait to get their dermis examined- fancy! Upon arrival I was told the doctor was still in a surgery that had run over. The receptionist said someone had called to let me know they had to cancel. Hmmm...in-ter-est-ing, no call to my cell. Then she told me they'd left a message on my home line. When I asked her to confirm the # it was in fact my cell phone- the same one that had been on me all morning and never received a call. Here look at my call list! Her response, downcast eyes and an awkward "Ohhhh...." I can appreciate that schedules change. I can appreciate that sometimes the ball gets dropped. I can appreciate that I may have to wait when said timetables get pushed back. I would have gladly curled up with one of those iPads and waited my turn. But instead of claiming to call when they didn't, I would have appreciated an effort to remedy the situation. Instead I got a series of excuses and was offered an appointment another 4 weeks away. When I tried to inquire why I couldn't be seen later that day I was told to squeeze me in would inconvenience the other patients. Ouch. Maybe the skincare is top notch but after the seriously lacking customer service experience, I won't be returning to find out. read more

I went in because of a painful cyst on my back. I was seen by Dr. Lunder who looked at it for a second and told me it was shingles. She then perscribed a crazy expensive medication and sent me on my way. two days later it burst and I had to go back in. The good news is I saw Dr. Litani. Who was great about helping and getting it taken care of. Ive since had another problem and I will go back to Dr. Litani whenever I need to but I still find myself upset over that intial appointment. It was clear to everyone I talked to that it wasnt shingles. Im not sure how a dermatologist misdiagnosis something like that. Be care who you get if you make an appointment. read more

My daughter and I have both gone to this office for a few years. Not my favorite place. Our particular female derm has absolutely no bedside manner and I have since noticed she has bad reviews from other people. I thought perhaps she was having a busy day but after several visits I am ready to leave the practice. I'm not a fan of frosty doctors that always seem in a rush. The receptionists are awful too. One time I had to wait and watch the receptionist meticulously apply her lipstick right in front of me from her desk before she checked me in. I was referred to Dermatology Partners by an esthetician and made an appointment with Dr. Lunder. It took a while to get in, but it was worth the wait. She was so nice, and I even recommended her to my mom who was looking for a Dermatologist. On the other side of the office, they offer skin treatments as well. I love getting peels and facials there, I just wish they had more evening or weekend appointments because it is hard to get there when working during the day. But my skin always looks fabulous after their combination peel/facial treatment. You go in for a peel, and then 5 days later, your skin is in the best condition for a facial to clean out your impurities. They also carry a variety of products from Dermalogica, Vivite', Skin Ceuticals, and more. read more

The stress of college was getting to be too much for me and my face showed it. So bad that I needed medical attention (IMHO). Enter: Dr. Lunder. The office is relatively easy to find, but I can't say the same about the parking. Depending on what time of the day you are there, you should probably arrive early to ensure you have time to park. The office itself is large and very nice. There are group of 5 (4?) dermatologists that practice out of the office as well as an esthetician. The receptionists are quite friendly and organized based on checking in and checking out. I found this organization of staff pretty neat, and it makes them pretty efficient. Now, for my actual check-up. Dr. Lunder was great. She was very straightforward in explaining what was going on and what/why she was prescribing the meds. However, I had to wait in the exam room for a long time and probably spent just as much time waiting as I did for the actual exam. I went in for a follow-up 8 weeks later. I was supposed to see one of their nurse practicioners but ended up seeing Dr. Lunder again. But again, I waited a lllloooooonnnnnnggggg time for her to come in. And I really mean long, I read every piece of literature hanging on the wall in that office. =\ Overall, Dr. Lunder is a great dermatologist (pick up an Allure sometime and you might find her giving skincare recs) and extremely knowledgeable. I just wish my waiting time was not more than my doctor time, hence the 3 stars. read more

Do. Not. Go. Here. I was recommended for a skin check by my doctor and made an appointment 6 weeks out. First the receptionist could not have been ruder while acknowledging my appointment and asking me to fill out the paper work. I was promptly called into my appointment and told to fill out my paperwork later (why call me in if I have not completed check in) then asked to disrobe to prep for my appointment. No sooner did the door close then Dr. Lunder came knocking - I was completely rushed and stated so then go a raised eyebrow. Dr. Lunder - who has absolutely no bedside manner then began to: - scold me for getting color on my vacation even though I used sunscreen and limited my time in the sun to drying off after swimming. -began burning off sun spots on my face without asking me. -biopsied a suspicious spot on my face. -provide a prescription for a heat rash on my chest - which she only glanced at and the prescription didn't even work. I was called back with the results 4 days as promised and was told the biopsy came back as pre-cancer and I needed to have MOHS SURGERY!!!! Why would I need surgery if it was pre-cancerous?!??! In getting a second opinion the doctor read the biopsy results and chuckled at the recommendation for SURGERY and said it wasn't necessary because it was pre-cancerous and then provided me with a Rx that actually worked on my rash. Always, always check references.....wish I had Yelped and read the other reviews before going to Dermatology Partners. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Elissa Lunder at Dermatology Partners. She is our go-to dermatologist. We live 3 hours away and the trip is worth every minute and mile. Her depth and breadth of knowledge is exceptional. More, she treats her patients like family. When Dr. Lunder noticed our teenage son's facial pockmarks, she recommended and administered a fraxel laser procedure. It changed our son's sense of self, truly helping him put his best "face" forward. Dr. Lunder understands that dermatology is deeply connected to her patients' psyche and their confidence. I have been going to Dermatology Partners for many years and have only the best things to say. Dr. Lunder is my regular dermatologist. I see her for full skin checks (also Irish, fair skin and a history of sunburns as a kid and teen), Botox and fillers. She is brusque but so knowledgeable. I have the utmost confidence in her. Also have gone to Dr. Litani for two mohs surgeries, including one on my face. Had the facial one 5 months ago and the scar is barely noticeable. She is an artist. The estheticians are excellent. It's been almost two years since I went to Dermatology Partners to have MOHs surgery on an area of my forehead by Dr. Litani. I have waited to write this review since the doc there kept assuring me my scar would fade over time. At the end of my surgery, Dr. Litani said I could choose which way we would close up the now 1 inch hole in my forehead...we could close it in line with my nose or in line with the natural wrinkle lines of my forehead. At the time, I was overwhelmed by the hole in my forehead that had once been a tiny dot and went with her recommendation to close it in line with my nose. To this day, I have a very noticeable scar on my forehead. In my subsequent follow ups with Dr. Litani, she said I would need to get botox because it was my muscle. I feel very strongly that Dr. Litani advised me poorly and that this should have been discussed prior to my surgery rather than when I'm being faced with a gaping hole in my forehead.. Over the past two years, I have met a number of people who had the surgery in the exact same spot but who had their doctors recommend closing the incision in line with the wrinkle lines. Their scars are completely unnoticeable! Dr. Lunder was the original Doc that I saw there. She did have a good eye but a horrible bedside manner. She made incisions during office visits with no consideration for the physical work that I do stating that I could work with no problem. When I asked her if I could exercise, she said no. Hello! Add the demeaning and rude staff to the mix and I would rather take my business elsewhere. If only the scar on my forehead wasn't a constant reminder of Dermatology Partner's shoddy work! Edited after 4 years. I'd give Dr. Herschenfeld and Dr. Litani 5 stars (10 stars if I could). I have a history of basal and squamous cells, which are promptly diagnosed and removed. Dr. Litani did a great job in surgery and I have almost no scar. Bedside manner is beyond wonderful. When I first started going, the office staff was pretty inept, to the point where it was laughable. However I'm editing the review because lately I've seen a huge improvement. I want to give credit where credit is due. You have to schedule your appointments more than a year and advance however. And they definitely still run late frequently. read more

I'm purely going to write about the Aesthetics Services department in this review. I tried making two appointments in the last year. Last December, I booked a treatment, never got a confirmation...I called and left a voicemail to the Aesthetics department to verify that I had an appointment...no one called back. I did not show as it's quite a drive for me to get there. Fast forward to this year, where I tried to make an appointment over a month ago. After leaving two voice-mails, someone finally called me back to schedule an apt. with someone named 'Lambrini' - pretty unique and pretty name, something I wrote down so I wouldn't forget. I drove into the office from Boston today- and was told there wasn't a record of me having an appointment. I was asked repeatedly who I spoke with...to which I answered each time...I'm not sure...I made the apt several weeks ago. I was told they could 'accommodate' me later that day...as if they were doing me a favor. I asked if the service would be discounted due to the inconvenience. The answer was no...it was against their 'protocol' to do so...and inferred that I should have known I didn't have an appointment because I did not get a confirmation call the day before. AND...the only record of me being in their books was a 'no show'. The irony!!! This place is extremely unprofessional and unorganized. It's unfortunate because it gives a bad name to Dermatology Partners as a company. Fine elsewhere to go...it's not worth the hassle or wasted time. read more

I saw Dr. Lunder and had the worst appointment I've ever experienced at any doctor's office. She was extremely unfriendly, passive and dismissive throughout my entire appointment. She took absolutely no time to ask me any questions regarding my acne, and instead just pulled out a paper and pen to write me a prescription. I actually had to put effort in to ask her questions - and when I did, she seemed bothered and irritated. I even had to ask her to specify what ingredients were in the antibiotics she was prescribing me! She explained nothing. The appointment felt rushed and was extremely stressful for me. I had so many questions I wanted to ask, and I didn't get the chance to because of how flustered and uncomfortable I felt throughout the entire appointment. I'm Irish and grew up in the 60s when laying out in the sun covered in baby oil was considered to be an idea to try. I am at high risk for melanoma and have many moles. I go to Dr. Lunder because she has a very good eye for moles that might be problems. In the past, I have gone to other dermatologists who just want to remove everything- and not only is that expensive, it leaves scars. If Dr. Lunder says a mole needs to go....it needs to go. Dr. Lunder sends biopsy samples to a dermatopathologist. If you decide to use another dermatologist, make sure they use a pathologist who specializes in skin. My mother worked for a pathology lab and she said it is worthwhile to have skin samples examined by people who specialize in diseases of the skin. Bad parking, long waits check and check. Still- for excellent medical care, I recommend Dr. Lunder. read more

Dr. Burnett is great! I saw her for two years while in the Boston area. She explains everything thoroughly. I saw my acne clear up right away and stay gone. When I had a concerning mole, she got me in right away, took care of it, and followed up right away with results. I have been a patient for several years at this dermatology practice. I've been pleased with the doctors, but beware of the billing. I recently had a biopsy done and was told by the doctor it would be covered 100% by my insurance company, so I consented to go ahead. This was not the case because the tissue sample was sent to a lab that was not covered by my insurance company. I didn't think I had to quiz the doctor on which lab it was being sent to for analysis. I started going there when I wanted to have some extensive work done and wanted to get on a regimen to maintain a youthful appearance. It was a huge disappointment. The office is run very badly with long waits and constant reschedulings. I was seen by Dr Tedaldi who supposedly is this amazing doc who treats the Red Sox wives. She is always on radio and tv and I wanted the best. She may be good but she has no bedside manner. The treatment I ended up wanting was almost $5K and VERY invasive requiring a week off from work. I had a lot of questions needless to say and I felt like I was an inconvenience. After trying to convey my fear and concerns, I cancelled the appointment due to lack of confidence. If I do not feel comfortable with the simple consult, I am certainly not going to let them laser strip my skin. read more

Terrible practice and Dr. Lunder is horrible! As a RN myself, I was horrified by the bedside manner of the nurses and Dr. Lunder. Do not take your child to this Dr. she has a terrible bedside manner. She did not smile or even say hello to me. During my skin check she ripped the johnny off of me exposing me completely. She was cold and rude during the 5 minutes she spent with me. When I asked her questions about skin care and my concerns, she informed me that the nurse would be answering all questions. After my visit she did not send in a nurse, she sent in a sales rep to sell me expensive products. The whole place will leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. Will NEVER return or recommend to anyone!! No one in this office actually cares about you, they just want to sell you products and have you buy botox. read more

I called this office about a month ago after I got a referral from my son's pediatrician for his server acne problem. I called the office one week before our Cape vacation and realize our confirmed appointment with the doctor who has a reputation just treating acne can not be rescheduled. We decide to come back from the Cape and go for this appointment. When I arrive to the office this morning 9:30am, the front desk told me that they don't have our appointment. Not only they don't have this appointment but also this doctor no longer accepting new patient any more. I was shocked. We came home on Sunday night arriving home 11:00pm juts to make the next day early morning appointment to see this Doctor. The front desk lady, instead of apologizing for the mistake someone made from this office, shake her head saying no no no, we don't have you registered here and we can't give you an appointment. I showed her my phone record and appointment details with Thor office phone number, she still saying no way there was an appointment, bla, bla bla. Finally she said ok you can see another physician this morning. She pass on the name of the physician and I checked on my iPhone quickly and found she is a 2 star physician by many her patients. I explain to the lady in the front desk that this is the 3rd dermatologist we go since my son's acne problem seems not response to previous physicians treatment. There are many many bad dermatologists around. We came here is not just to see a doctor, but to see a specialist for his acne. The front desk lady seems has no compassionate for patients nor did she react to the office mistake properly. Not only she imply I am lying ( why should I lying and drove back in the middle of my vacation trip for this appointment?), but also she did not apology to the situation. Instead she called my son's pediatrician office while we wait for the 2nd substituted doctor and blaming them for "referral to this doctor as this doctor is no longer accepting patient". Extremely frustrating experience and completely inefficient process. I took my toddler to be evaluated for his eczema and the doctor provided a two week regimen which included a prescription medication. The office said they would be calling in the prescription by end of day. Three days later, I still had not received notification from the pharmacy of the refill, and it turns out it had never been called in. We had to wait over the weekend since the doctors offices were closed. I called back today twice and each time was told that the script would be put into the queue for the day (they also said they would call back with an update and never did). When I called the pharmacy again at the end of the day, there was still no prescription. I don't even have the option of having another doctor call in the prescription because I was never given the name of the medication. I will not be returning to this doctor. read more

I went to see Dr. Lunder for adult acne and had a terrible experience. She spent 3 minutes doing a consult and had no bedside manners. She recommended that I take an antibiotic and didn't explain any of the side effects. Luckily, I asked a couple of times to learn that what she was prescribing had side effects that I did not want to deal with at this time. She left the room and never explained what routine I should use with her recommendation and never answered my questions regarding other skin care products. Overall, she was the worst doctor I have ever seen for a 'consultation.' Don't waste your time. read more
