I've had mixed experiences here, but am done with this practice. Dr. Viders is incredibly rude and condescending. The front desk team seems extremely stressed and stretched too thin. In 2021 I had a biopsy done on a mole and got a nasty infection from that minor, in office procedure. The infection was so bad that my primary care doctor said I needed to go to urgent care for antibiotics immediately. I contacted the office several times for help and they were completely unresponsive. Dr. Viders was very apologetic, so I gave them another shot, thinking they just had an off day. When I saw him today for an annual scan he talked down to me the whole time, and at one point said "We still believe in men and women here," when describing to me why women were at higher risk for moles on their legs..because women wear skirts. What a completely unnecessary, transphobic sentiment. Thanks but no thanks, I'll never return. read more

I continue to go back for a reason. Great front desk customer service to the medical assistant to the doctor . I had a skin tag removed due to constantly agrivating it and become larger than most right near my collar bone. They did a great job freezing it and literally scraping it off and didn't feel a thing . The best part is it didn't even scar . Highly recommend.. read more

Was referred here through a friend. Having a crisis and at my wits end. Appointments were rushed, barely listened to me and treated me like an assumed drug addict. I understand how my skin looks, I went from model material to outcast and have been having an extremely difficult time, just to paint a picture of the severity. Extremely depressed and reclusive. No place I went before here would give me answers or do tests. Same problem I ran into here. Viders and Dan were so rude, demeaning and dismissive I left there having a panic attack. I read on the website that Dan "maintains a relaxed environment and you'll always feel comfortable during routine skin appointments". This couldn't have been further from the truth. I might not know what I have but that's why I came to professionals. And I know for a fact it's not "all in my head". I left there with disdain for dermatologists and even more hopelessness than when I went in there. Only upside is the nurses were nice. Almost seemed like one felt bad for the way Viders talked down to me. And she actually listened to me thru tears while also asking if I wanted to go out the back. Got the sense it was for the patients in the waiting room and not for my own comfort though. If you're already fragile and fear someone might have preconceived ideas about you, beware going here, because they probably do. For doctors that deal with skin, the largest organ you have that is literally seen by everyone you come in contact with, their bedside manner is surely lacking. read more

I delayed & delayed treatment for what I thought was a silly thing (eczema) but when the pain, cracking, bleeding, and possible infection set in, I was lucky enough to score an appointment with Katherine. She was so wonderful, full of energy, and her treatment plan had me feeling like a new person in days. On my follow up appointment, she truly went above and beyond, offering a full body check (I was there for my foot!), which revealed a suspect skin lesion. She was able to remove it & send it out to pathology at the same appointment. I greatly appreciate her thoroughness- truly going above & beyond- and have already passed her name along to a friend. I was sitting in the waiting area reading Yelp reviews for this place and seriously considered walking out because the reviews were starting to freak me out. Luckily for me it was not a terrible experience. My first impression when I walked in the door was that the place was very casual. I've never seen a dermatologist before, so maybe this is just how they are. There were 3 ladies sitting at reception. I checked in and sat down, and they chatted openly about non-work stuff for the entire 20 minutes that I sat waiting to be called in (I was on time, btw), only pausing to check in the occasional patient. When I was called in I looked up and didn't know who actually called me, because the woman was dressed in street clothes. The tablet is all that gave her away. I went to an examination room, she asked me a series of questions, and then I waited for the dermatologist. I could hear loads of employees chatting outside the door, laughing, having a great during my entire wait. Again, casual but I guess it's good they are enjoying being at work(?). Luckily I did not get Dr. Dan Viders (since his reviews on Yelp seem terrible). I saw a woman named Nicole Willis. She was very sweet, down to earth, and personable and was able to address my two skin concerns pretty quickly. She also was sympathetic to a concern that my doctor glazed over, and acted accordingly. I have been going here for 10 years but my recent experience leaves me frustrated and looking for a new dermatology office. I ha I am not very pleased with the inability to get ahold of anyone in the office. If you like going to a doctor and receiving a personable experience and interacting with helpful/knowledgeable office staff, this place IS NOT for you. No one answers their extensions and call backs happen the next day. This is not acceptable for a patient that needs a refill asap! Its bad service when the pharmacy and the patient can't get in touch with the prescriber for a refill! read more

My pediatrician diagnosed my 3 year old son for Molluscum but didn't really give me information about it so I made an appointment with Dan Kwiecien. We had such a great experience!! Dan made everything seem so simple and he was so great with my son! We were in and out so quickly and everything was resolved. I've had good experiences as a young child when I actually saw Dr. Dan, but I've also had the worst experience with a "Dr's" office in my life. Years ago, in the Auburn office, I had a PA (who is still with Viders) remove a mole on my leg. The mole was the size of a pencil eraser, but I had a 6 inch piece removed and stitches on the inside and out (not a problem). I went back I believe two weeks later and the PA took my stitches out (even though it was clear that the wound was not healed). Within a week the stitch opened into a 6 inch in diameter Hole in my leg. I was a 20 year old on campus college student, and I can assure you I followed every direction and took every precaution. At first, the answered my mothers calls for guidance and help. Eventually, they stopped answering and returning phone calls all together. I eventually had to visit the wound clinic at UMass for treatment, the hole took Over 6 months to "heal." I was left with a permanent, ugly "scar" (my skin attempted to "regrow" in that location) and absolutely no feeling in the area. We never heard back from the office. Through out this whole process I never once spoke to Dr. Viders. I do not exaggerate, and I'm am not a disgruntled bitter ex-patient (well I am but I don't have a vendetta). My situation was mishandled in so many ways and so incredibly unprofessional. She moved to Framingham dermatology and would have moved with her if I wasn't so far but the others that work here are great too. Subsequently I went to a different dermatologist, who immediately removed the mole, and I have now been diagnosed with melanoma and will be scheduled for surgery. I was very disappointed when I was seen by what seemed to be a fairly new P.A. for a fairly complex case of a rash that was being caused by a recently diagnosed auto-immune disease. I also had eczema which he properly prescribed some steroid cream, but the underlying rash was never investigated. I had to go to another dermatologist to get my condition properly diagnosed and treated. I feel like I my money and time was completely wasted with this place. I will never use them again. I have been going to Auburn Dermatology for the past 6 years. Throughout that time I have been through 5 different PAs because they appear to have a high turnover rate. I have experienced the very thorough PA (this was the first person I saw there) who checked my skin very carefully, conducted body mapping by taking pictures of my entire body, and was attentive and professional. I've also had the cavalier "I just became a PA so I must know everything PA." I have a history of melanoma in my family (my mom has had it twice in separate areas) and I am covered in freckles and moles. I conduct regular self exams and make appointments whenever I have a concern. A little less than a year ago, I had a mole near my collarbone that was quickly changing in appearance and scanned over for no reason. I made an appointment to have it checked and I was told it was nothing to be concerned about. I insisted on having it biopsied because I was concerned about it. After I insisted on the biopsy I was told that it would be performed reluctantly and that it was going to come back as nothing. Seriously...the guy actually said I was concerned over nothing and the biopsy would show it. Well, days later I got a phone call asking me to make an appointment to go in and discuss my results. It was melanoma. The PA didn't even take a picture of the mole before doing the biopsy to have for my records. I asked to switch PAs, and on a visit just after the blunder with my melanoma I returned to have another spot checked out on my back. AGAIN...I was told it appeared to be nothing to worry about and was prescribed some cream for the irritation on the spot. When that didn't work I returned and expressed my concern. The PA then had a doctor come in to exam the spot. He also thought it was most likely nothing but said they would biopsy it to be on the safe side considering my history. That one turned out to be basal cell. I now have a huge, ugly scar on my back that itches all the time and looks killer in a bikini. I just tell people it was a shark attack. I am on the hunt for a new dermatologist and would not recommend it to anyone else. read more

I had to wait three weeks for my appointment. I went to see Dr. Viders for a full skin scan. My previous dermatologist. Dr Roberts in Worcester had done skin scans on me for the last few years. Unfortunately she stopped taking my insurance. So I had to find a new dermatologist. Normally this procedure takes about 20 mins. where they check the whole body for skin problems. And they are pretty thorough. Dr Viders came in and immediate asked me so where are the problem area's you are concerned about. He didn't say hop up on the table and start checking my body from head to toe. I said excuse me. He repeated come on come on where are the problem area's. I said I am here for a full skin scan. I had some moles I wanted looked at and a plantar's wart on my foot. He looked at my back for less then a min and said who told you that you needed to worry about the moles on your back and I said my last dermatologist said she wanted to keep an eye out on the. "She usually looks at them with a magnifier glass and measures them. He had a magnified glass but didn't use it. He just said they look fine I wouldn't touch them. I said OK aren't you going to check them. He said I just did they are fine. He was Rude and Impatient when he said this. I then showed him my foot. He said that is not a not a wart. It looks like a callus. I said I have been putting the freeze away on it for a month and it is still there. He said well if it comes back book another appointment and I will take care of it. I said to him again. This was the main reason besides the skin scan that I came to see you. He said well if it becomes a problem come back. I said it is still there after a month so it's a problem. He said well if it is still a problem in a few weeks come back and see me. I can't believe I got charged for a full skin scan to see him for a total of literally less then 5 mins. He had no bedside manner. He was pretty rude. Stuck up.He talked down to me. He didn't help me at all or see if there was any other skin concerns. When I arrived I was 15 mins early but I didn't get seen for a half hour after my original appointment time. There also was a guy in the lobby arguing with the staff saying he didn't want to pay for something that the doctor had told him he wouldn't charge him for and then it showed up on his bill. The doctor came out and was very rude to him and said I will resolve your issue. I wouldn't recommend this Dr or there office to anyone. Very disappointing. read more

Nice place! Went here two times for head related skin removal and the first time while cauterizing the wound they failed to ask if i had metal in my head (i have many plates from jaw surgery) and the machine created a current and shocked me and the nurse holding my hair back! They joked about me having metal in my head until i was like "yes i have plates" and they quickly switched to a heat based cauterizer (instead of electricity based) and finished the job. They did not apologize for this might i add, just laughed it off! Then the second time i came in i prefaced the fact (also not to mention, no where in their paper work does it ask about metal in the body!) and they laughed it off again! But both times i had a pleasant experience besides that and the staff was friendly and accommodating, even going as far as watching me and giving me water after i got dizzy from being half electrocuted! The staff is a little sketchy but very friendly and the wait time is minimal! read more

I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Dr. Viders is incredibly unprofessional, rude, arrogant and lacks ANY bedside manner. He talked down to my mother and didn't let her explain her situation at all. He was completely unhelpful and dismissive of all of my mothers concerns and seemed like he wanted to get in and out of the room as fast as possible. He mocked my mother, who has been losing her hair drastically since last year, making a poor tasted joke about her going bald and was clearly judging her for being unemployed due to her being disabled. She was so upset and I wanted to just get up and leave so we did not have to deal with his abuse anymore. He also did not even explain to my mother his plan of action for her situation and rudely said it to the nurse,Mindy, as he rushed out of the room. If I did not despise Dr.Viders so much I would have given a higher rating just for Mindy. She was thorough, attentive and actually sat down with my mother to explain what the dr had said and the regimen he wanted her to do. Needless to say we are never going back to this practice and Dr. Viders should find a new profession. read more

Was seen as a new patient for a full skin check. Received a very complete scan by 2 women PAs who were very pleasant and efficient. Dr. Viders came in and checked areas noted by PAs. All questions were answered. Front desk person was very nice. Only minor issue was that I waited a half hour. I appreciate being told there is a wait when I check in or at some point when delays happen. read more
