I cannot say enough positive things about this GWL. Our kids are 3 & 5 and this is our 3rd trip here. They were 1 & 3 when we first started coming. It's relaxing to not have to leave the hotel. The waterpark is clean, warm, safe, and everything is always in working order. Lifeguards are EVERYWHERE. They're friendly and pay close attention to kids. We've been to other waterparks and I've never felt as safe with my children as I do here. Rooms are clean and cozy. We have stayed in the fireplace sweet and the kid cabin, both were nice but we like the kid cabin. Staff is friendly :) Never had an issue. Kids love the waterpark, cub club, and arcade. We've never done magic quest. They also just love hanging out in the room and playing in their little cabin. We brought my nephew for his birthday and he got a special "happy birthday" wristband for the waterpark. It was cute. Lots of lifeguards stopped to wish him a happy birthday. My only complaints from our 3 visits; 1. Twice we've been in level 3 snow emergencies meaning it is VERY dangerous and illegal to be on the roads. The hotel for nothing to inform guests. This seems unsafe and rude. 2. Food is overpriced. It's decent, not great. In fact, I like the pizza best. 3. Clock tower show is weird. My kids Don't understand which character is talking half of the mouths don't move. Plus the story is boring. Seriously though, we love this place. Will return! read more

I just took my six-year-old daughter here for the weekend. She had a really good time - we all did - but there were a few things that left me feeling a little dissatisfied. If you want to save time, read only this: this place is good for young kids but not great for anyone over 10-12. It's like an indoor playground with a lot of water and running, screaming, mannerless kids/animals everywhere. If not for my daughter, it would have been a two-star experience. More detail? Here you go. First, the resort itself: The employees seem nice and helpful, and the rest of the building was well-kept. The location is pretty convenient and easy to find, and it's near a lot of other restaurants and shopping, so you don't have to live at the hotel if you don't want to. The prices for dining and drinks are a little high inside the resort, and you can save a ton of money by taking a quick drive down Milan Road. The food and drink quality in the park are both acceptable, but you can get a better dining/drinking value minutes away. The noise level (inside each room) is also pretty high, even for a resort with a lot of kids. We could hear a lot of stomping on the floor above us, and outside our room was pretty loud until around 10pm. Since I'm not 90 and I wasn't turning in that early, this didn't bother me too much. The overall resort seems pretty nice, though, with a decent amount to do for a weekend trip. The water park: The "attractions" in the water park seem geared toward smaller kids. There are really only two relatively tall water slides; the rest are smaller/playground-like, and there are some small/shallow pool areas and a very short lazy river. I was fairly underwhelmed by the park itself, but I wasn't there for me. My daughter loved pretty much everything, which brings me to the overall: it's very much for younger kids. Adults didn't seem to be loving their time there, but most of the kids seemed pretty happy. All in all, the layout was nice and everything seemed to be in working order, but don't go in expecting big kid fun. The only grown up things there were a very overpriced snack stand with alcohol and a more-or-less (read: warmish) hot tub. As for the room: I was "upgraded" from my fireplace suite with two big beds to a suite with a wolf den with bunk beds. I wasn't thrilled by this upgrade (I was looking forward to cozy nights by the fire), and I tried to get them to switch it back, but they couldn't because the fireplace wasn't working. Still, my daughter loved everything about the room. That's what it was all about, BUT... I've got to say their rooms need some major upgrading to make everyone happy. The grown up bed was ONE OF THE WORST BEDS I HAVE EVER SLEPT IN. I woke up feeling like I got kicked by hundreds of tiny horses throughout the night. I'm not sure if this is the standard for their mattresses, but it was horrible. I would have been better off sleeping in the wolf den on the bunk beds. The bathroom was also mediocre, with the tub/toilet separate from the sink. I've seen this before, and I always dislike that layout. It's an "hourly rates" layout. The style was lodge-like, which fit with the theme, but everything in there seemed old (except the two nice LG flat screens), from the tub to the mattress to the carpet. I will probably go back to a Great Wolf Lodge in the future because my daughter is already begging for another trip, but I will likely try the one near Cincinnati (Mason, OH) or Traverse City - or stay at Kalahari. read more

If you've never been to an indoor water park before, then go and enjoy. If you've been to other GWL locations or other waterparks, then I don't recommend this GWL. You'll be disappointed. I think this was one of the older GWLs, and they incorporated improvements into the newer locations that made the stay much more enjoyable. A few random observations: - You have to carry a key card (other locations your wrist-band has an RFID tag that is your room key and allows you to pay for things at the bar / restaurants and bill it to your room). Oh, and the key card CAN'T be placed anywhere near your car keys or credit cards because they will wipe out the key card. WTH??? - The service in the restaurants was pretty slow and the food was meh. - They have a lazy river (thumbs-up, LOVE the lazy river), but it was poorly designed and has a couple of dead spots where you can end up just getting stuck and have to kick or paddle your way back into the current flow again. - They have only two of the bigger slides what you ride rafts down, and they don't have any of the cool tornado or bowl style waterslides. Other GWL locations have some much more exciting waterslides to ride. - The way they run the bigger water slides here is inefficient and results in LONG lines of people all the way down to the ground floor. We stayed at another water park in South Dakota a few days ago, and I rode the slides so many dozens of times I lost count and TOTALLY got my money's worth. Not here. I rode the slides 5 times and most definitely did NOT get my money's worth. - The MagicQuest wands have to all be individually activated. Cha-ching, cha-ching! $$$ This also consumes a lot of time when each kid has to individually tap each thing they find and wait for the little audio schpeal to play out. At other GWL locations, you can register multiple wands to ONE account and they can complete the quests as a team - much more cost effective and time-efficient. read more

This was our first time at Great a Wolf Lodge. It was a really nice experience. Check in was easy. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was easy to find everything around the resort. It was definitely magical for my 4 year old daughter. Although I thought it was a little expensive to do all the extras...I guess it wasn't too bad. We did not buy the wand that she wanted so bad, but only because there were so many other costs of you wanted a cool one. Scoops was adorable. I got my daughter a pedicure there and she absolutely loved it and felt like a princess. The arcade was pretty cool. The clock tower show was weird to me but my daughter liked it the first time. Story time, face painting.. All of the extras were really nice! We didn't want to spend too much on food, but we did buy the voucher for breakfast. It was average breakfast food made for the masses. Nothing special or worth the money. We also ordered a pizza and salad for dinner one night and it was really good. Overall, it was a really nice getaway.. The waterpark was so much fun! Had a horrible experience with ever aspect of trip...check in with reservation took 20+ minutes not sure what all they had to type.....room was smaller then other water parks but ok by standards in size ....but bathroom and coffee maker both were dirty ....have a three year old ...went on baby slide with her...as I have at other water parks and got yelled at!!! Which I thought was funny. Food was wayyy expensive ...arcade was small and didn't offer tickets or prizes which was no good for the little one Also supposed to have a daily walk around with one of the characters each day it was either cancelled or wasn't enough people there to do it? So we just waited there..... My advice go down the street to Kalahari way better treat the children better ...rooms and service are better read more

This waterpark is very poorly run. The first time we stayed, we were very disappointed. It seemed as though the workers were lazy and did not care if we were there as guests or not. When we asked about certain events at the resort, the employees had no clue. We spoke with management about how poor our stay was and the did give us a comp night. 1 year later we returned. Although we did not have any specific problems, the park seems dirty and run down. We did stop on our way home at Kalahari to view their resort. All i can say is wow!!! Judge for yourself! read more

We enjoyed it. Only concern was since it was extreme cold weather outside, perhaps figure out a better plan for exterior doors especially in the delivery area on the South Side. When you have a water park, people walk to the rooms in a towel 90% of the time so that was a miss. We did not eat there as it feels lazy and of course prices will be 25% higher than a similar fast food/pizza joint/restaurant. Overall the staff was attentive and polite and we received what we expected and enjoyed it. Stop being "sheeple", plan better and you will enjoy it. read more

GWL was perfect for my just-turned-2-year-old and our friends' almost 3 year old. I think kids up to the age of 6-8 would probably love this place but older kids would get bored. This isn't a great place for adults looking to enjoy a waterpark. The attractions are geared toward younger kids and I loved that about this location. There were lifeguards everywhere, but I didn't feel out of place sticking by my daughter's side and helping her up onto the main climbing attraction and up the smaller slides in back which are geared toward her age. There are definitely parents who let their kids just roam and aren't paying attention to their kids cutting in line and being jerky- so come prepared with your parent hat to make it a better experience for everyone. Our room was clean and while it was right off the stairway, we didn't have an issue with noise at all. We had a balcony which was nice and with a military family discount, I felt like the prices were reasonable for all day use of the waterpark. Also, they don't sell day-passes to the park. You have to be a guest of the hotel, so if you're visiting in the off-season or during the week, the waterpark is not overcrowded. The crowds on Saturday were much worse, but still manageable than Friday's crowd. Also the beds were really comfortable in our room and I was thankful for that! We were able to get into the park at 1pm on check-in day and stayed until dinner time. The next morning, we made a run to the McDonalds nearby which was cheap and easy- there's a ton of dining options nearby too. We ate dinner in the restaurant attached and while the prices may seem steep for Sandusky, I thought they were totally reasonable coming from Chicago, and the food was decent. I would put it on par with an Applebee's or Chili's which was fine. I thought the snack bar was reasonable too- particularly if you're comparing it to Soak City or other large waterparks. We checked out the arcade, which again was geared toward the younger set, but my daughter was excited with the flashing lights and buttons, so $5 was totally sufficient to give her her fill there. We paid extra for late checkout, and that was totally worth it. By the time lunch time rolled around, the little ones were cooked, so we were able to get back to the room, give the kids a snack while we packed and then headed off grounds to get lunch. All in all, it was a great place to have so much fun with my little one. I loved watching her get gutsier and gutsier as the weekend wore on- trying new things and not relying on me for so much support. We had a wonderful little family get-away, and I would definitely return! read more

Prior to our visit to GWL in Sandusky, we'd been to the one in the Poconos several times. We expected this resort to be the same as the other, however, they are quite different. This resort has the same GWL theme, layout and general amenities. However, younger children (10 and under) will find the park most enjoyable. The water park only has one feature of the 'tubing' rides. Certainly kids of all ages can take part in other areas, but there is no wave pool, no 'toilet bowl' ride like other GWL resorts, and the lazy river is very lazy...and short. It can be a nice time for younger kids. The area is surrounded by many good restaurants , so you don't have to feel forced to eat in the resort. There is a small outdoor pool which is nice. We had a decent time but decided to cut our stay short to find other options for an older kid. read more

OK, I am going to do a little complaining here, however, keep in mind that my family LOVED staying here, overall! This is a Very nice, clean place, with very friendly staff, great restaurants, Very nice rooms with comfy beds, and a Super-fun waterslide park! We were all very pleased! In fact, my 9-year old son told me that this was THE BEST vacation he had ever been on! So, of course that made me feel good. ....BUT...... This place is a bit expensive. I mean, I don't know what other family resorts cost, but - we stayed there for 3 nights, and between the cost of the room + the "MagicQuest" game (which I'll get to a minute), + 2 meals on the premises (for 2 adults & 2 children), plus a few souvenirs.....we spent a little over $1,000. Maybe that's not too bad......I'm not sure, but it was a bit more than I had anticipated. In any case, one thing which I was particularly disappointed with, is this "MagicQuest" game. My advice is, Do NOT get your child involved with this, if you can avoid it. First, you will be expected to cough up $50-60 for a plastic wand. The price will vary depending upon how your child wants the wand decorated. Then, you'll be expected to surrender an additional $12 for the game booklet (which is kinda necessary in order to play). Oh, and if you have 2 or more kids, you can bet they will want their own wands. ((Ouch!!)). This game is basically like a scavenger hunt, which might sound cool.... and, yes, the kids enjoy it, but - we adults soon realize (too late) that in order to complete the game's quests, your kids & you will need atleast 7-8 hours. Now, the "maiden" in the game shop will tell you that it only takes about half this time to complete. That's a lie. In order to collect each of the items, you & your kids will be required to walk back & forth, up & down throughout the lodge's 4 floors, reading the over-priced booklet & listening to various recorded messages, etc. The novelty of this game wears off quickly for us parents. But, sure, the kids seem enjoy it. I just think the cost of this game is obnoxiously over-priced, and it requires too much time. Aside from that, I would gladly recommend this place for a very fun family vacation! I even enjoyed some of the waterpark's slides & pools with my son, and we had an awesome time together. Only been here half a day and want to leave service everywhere is horrible. Constant overheard complaining from the staff. Other guest cussing loudly where my daughter would look at me saying "that's a bad word". Will never return!!!!!!! You walk by staff and they will bump into you not saying a word like what the heck I paid over 1000. To be treated this way want to leave but it's my daughters birthday and I'm not wanting to make a scene. Can't sit peacefully on your balcony either cause there are loud parties going one with cussing. I'm not saying my kid doesn't hear these things but shoot this is a kids place to have fun everyone should be like the peppy girl reading the stories at only person I saw that was helpful and nice everyone else made you feel like you were putting them out by just being here. I'll do this location a favor and never come back. Then you get to water park and slides for little kids is closed!!! read more

This was a great and odd place. The room itself was an average hotel room. Really nothing special but it was clean and it had two beds and a good bathroom. We had an issue with the air conditioning dripping on to the carpet but they managed to fix it pretty quick. The waterpark was good. There were lots of kids and it's not that big. However, it was fun and all the kids seemed to have a great time. The arcade area was pretty big but loud. The workout area was sad. Very sad. Not only did it smell bad, but all the equipment in there was broken and in need of serious repair. Overall, it was nice and pretty close to Cedar Point, which was the main goal we had in staying there. It was next to a Meijer and a Steak N Shake so it was perfect for our family. I think kids over the age of 10 would most likely be bored. read more

If you don't want to read a long review, I can summarize briefly. It's a good middle of the road option for a water park. Great Wolf does some stuff decent, other stuff needs improvement but most people will have a good stay here I suspect if you keep your expectations in check. At first glance this place appears to be falling apart. As soon as you walk in you can tell the carpet is worn and the place could stand to shut down for 2-3 days and bring in a professional cleaning crew. Another annoying thing is the door situation. The first set of doors is automatic which is helpful since everyone who comes here has loads of shit you have to bring with you. However, the second set is do it yourself. Whoever the genius is who thought up this system should probably be working a drive thru somewhere instead of engineering hotels. Anyway... Our rooms were about the same as the lobby, functional but worn and dirty. Not pee on the seat dirty but just used over and over dirty. I'm not sure what the lifespan of decorations and fixtures is for a hotel but I have to suspect GWL is nearing the end of it's cycle. Pro tip: you probably want to bring your own pillow. The water park itself overall is pretty good but it has some issues I'd personally like to see addressed. The seating situation is one. Not only is there not enough seating but all the seating is regular tables and chairs. Nothing that reclines or lays down. People come here to relax, not play Uno. Mix in some lounge chairs. Also, there is clearly not enough seating. I know that's a tough thing to juggle but when day after day you have bags and towels lined up along the floor that should be a priority. The changing room is also underequipped. 3 changing rooms on the mens side to service the whole place? Our local rec center has double that. Not good. The rides I would classify as "kiddie". There are some tall slides that is true but there is nothing here that will make you squeeze your butt cheeks together and the height requirements are pretty low. If you have kids that are 1-10 you will probably be happy here but adults and teens will get bored here quickly. Like real quickly, like 25 minutes quickly. It's not all bad though, I have some positive things to say about the overall cost which is really reasonable throughout the resort, the arcade and the food. Arcade was well stocked, the price was reasonable for most games and it was probably the cleanest section of the entire property. The food was also really good for a hotel and again the price was not really much more than you would pay if you went off site. All in all we had a decent time but I think in the future we will pay up and go to Kalahari where the facilities are newer and there is more to do for us and our older kids. read more

Hears my great wolf ohio Sandusky story, I took the day off work due to having family in town from south korea. So decided to go to GREAT wolf lodge for a mini vacation(mistake). Well to start because it was a mid week they closed the park early due to lack of vacationers, so I go back to room and find the biggest bug on the ceiling. When the janitor arrived it did fly and he had to go get tape to ketch the BIG BUG. So Olivia Lewis the guest service manager said we're sorry for the inconvenience we will send a janitor up to ketch and identify BUG. So I spend 300$ for mini vacation and manager Olivia Lewis decides to close park early and have big bugs run thru out hotel with regards, as saying we will have it identified. So as long as you don't mind the park closing early and big bug in your room. Sandusky ohio great wolf lodge is for you. O' they closed the mini bar in pool area before 6pm. So no beer or no alcohol for any vacationers during week in pool area. Then to add the hot tub wasn't very hot kinda more of a warm tub. So I do understand that things can't always be perfect. So I'm giving great wolf lodge 2 stars for the fact that we have always had great time before and at other Great wolf clubs. read more

I am now sitting in the waterpark hoping the poor job she did today is fixed. She halfway made one bed.. the other not made. She put fresh towels.... that was it. This place is very confusing when it comes to if we liked it or not. The good: the water park, the price of the room we stayed in. The food was decently priced for what you received. The bad: worst pillows I've ever slept on in my life, and I travel 2 weeks a month most of the year. The pillows were so stuffed that when we laid on them it made our heads tilt toward our feet. Neck cramps. We went to target and bought pillows to sleep on bc the hotel didn't have any others. The floors were gross. I don't think that the carpet has been cleaned since this place was built. This is a great place for families with young kids. My kids are 7 and under anx they all had a great time. It's nice that they have restaurants inside so we never had to leave. Great cause it was freezing outside. The pool area is super fun. I loved the hot tub that kids could go in. The coffee was not good and they could use more space/seating for the storytime. We got the tickets from the Groupon, which was the great deal. Took 2 of our kids and a friend for our oldest. Room was a good size and accommodated us just find, the water-park was a lot of fund. Our 7-year old had a blast but our oldest (10 years old) and friend of same age got bored after couple of hours but overall it is fun in the water-park. We were able to let the kids go and didn't have to constantly keep looking after them since there are enough lifeguards and only one way to go in and out of the waterpark. Its a fun place for kids under 10, then they get bored easily. However, food is absolutely horrible. The dinner was ok, nothing special. Their breakfast buffet was probably one of the worst things we have had in a while. If we do go back, we will probably be getting food off premises - will be much much cheaper and much much better. read more

The Great Wolf Lodge is a great place to take the kids. The rooms are reasonably priced, considering you get access to the water park, which is clean and well maintained. There's enough life guards around that we felt safe letting the kids run off on their own--lap pool, water basketball, lazy river and a couple slides. The rooms come with a fridge and microwave, which is great as we like to bring our own snacks, as well as kid and adult beverages. We've ordered room service pizza for dinner which is a fair deal for the money, and pretty good. Otherwise, rather than eating in the hotel's restaurant, which is a bit overpriced, there's several kid friendly chain restaurants within a couple block drive. All in all, a great staycation destination. read more

It's a place for adults to take young children. We celebrated my sons birthday here and we had a lot of fun. We've been to GWL in traverse city just last month. So I'll start with he pros: It was equally fun, loved the different times for the lobby show. Food was delicious & reasonably priced. We especially loved the lumber jack breakfasts. The arcade was fun, prizes are pretty cool there. Lots of different arcade games to choose from. The water park was fun, wasn't packed, great areas for toddlers to play. Enjoyed the Kodak cafe lunch very yummy prices reasonably. We got the whirlpool suite our room was overall nice. Everything worked accordingly, bed was comfy. CONS: Compared to the GWL in Traverse city, I felt it wasn't as clean. I'm not saying it was a pig sty, but I noticed in a lot of the hallways there were very big visible dirt stains, and at a place were its directed to family with small children those visible dirt stains can be very scary cause it could be anything. Also I noticed dirt areas on our walls. I took a lean white cloth and wiped down some areas that were bothering me because I'm borderline OCD lol. Overall my family and I will be coming back to visit this GWL it's a family fun place! read more

We took our 3 children here this week for a one night stay for spring break. This was our first time at the Sandusky location so I could only compare it to the one in Mason, OH. Pro's: We went on a Wednesday and it was not crowded so this meant fast line times or no lines at all. The lady who checked us in (Laverna) was extremely welcoming so we didn't feel just like a number. Room was clean and well equipped. We had a cabin room so the kids had their own bunk beads which they loved. The included breakfast voucher was a bonus for what I felt was a very good breakfast buffet. Water park staff were friendly and engaging with the kids and making them laugh. The room rate we had was about $25 dollars less than the Mason location for the same stay duration Cons: Water park closed at 8:00 pm which I felt was a little early. Not as big as the Mason location but perfect for small children (ages 8, 6, & 1) read more

Let me start by saying that I am a reasonable person. This is a family oriented water park. I fully expected that this means kids running like wild buffalo through the halls even though it's posted everywhere not to. I already expected a large crowd for this season. Water parks are rightfully so busy during cold weather months with parents trying to give their little ones an opportunity to expel some of that energy that's boiling over in them. On both of these points, I was not disappointed. However, this place was a complete waste of money. Here is a list of expectations & where they fail: 1. When you take money directly from my credit card/account that is already higher than the price your website published. I fully expect that covered all of your taxes and fees. ¬¬¬----Nope. After looking at my itemized bill and another deduction to my account. It became very apparent that you did not charge for all of your taxes/fees upfront. Your taxes and fees do not change. You should charge them all at once. 2. For the price I am paying; I expect a clean room. ---Nope. When we opened the door to our room, there were items hanging out at the sink. I walked down the hall to a house keeping member whom said the items were hers that she left behind accidentally and assured me that the room was clean and ready. No biggie. Well, the room in fact was not clean. We spent little time in our room except to go directly to bed later in the evening with our toddler. It wasn't until morning light that I truly inspected the room. There were crumbs around the pull-out sofa, the table did not look completely clean, and my toddler had pointed out what looked to be a tangerine hanging out on the floor by the sink. We did not bring fruit with us! I mean...it's a round orange ball that does not blend in! It's not some dirt that just happened to get missed that may have blended in. The food was not that great for the price. Whatever, I get it...you're an entertainment facility and let's face it...all of them are overpriced for what you get. However, could it be possible to at least make sure it is warm?! Oh, and when someone asks for refills of coffee/orange juice...that doesn't mean bring it to them 30 minutes later, when they are ready to leave. (FYI, we were at the restaurant as soon as it opened. It was not busy at all.) Also, if the phone is ringing (we sat at a table next to the bar where the phone is) answer it! Don't walk pass it like you don't hear it multiple times. You are not too busy to get it. I was ready to answer it for you. Actually, I had to stop someone from walking away from it again to get someone to answer it. Seriously? I guess I should have just answered it, got our own refills, and maybe found some spoons too. Most places believe in giving their customers a spoon, knife, and fork. Apparently, we didn't get on the list for the special people that get a spoon. It looks as if nobody was on the list. Nothing like stirring your coffee with a butter knife. Lastly, drop the attitude. Every member of your wait staff was unprofessional with their attitude. They all seemed miserable and unwilling to even have a glimmer of concern for their customers. 4. Lastly, you are an indoor water park! I expect it to be warm inside. - Nope. It was uncomfortably cold. My poor little one had chattering teeth playing in the toddler pool area. I noticed that the other toddlers were doing the same. Maybe you should use all of the overpriced stuff you charge people for (the dirty room, the poor breakfast, the way overpriced lockers you offer families that cost $10.00 - $15.00 to use...) to help pay for heating your place. So...if you want poor service, poor food, uncleaned rooms, overpriced items, and to be cold in a water park.......this is the place for you! If not, go to one of the cheaper parks that will offer the same but at least you'll save some bucks. Or go up the street, pay a little more, and get what you actually pay for. My friend,her daughter (4years), my daughter(8years) and I went to Great Wolf Lodge for a 2 day mini vacation. We booked our stay 2 months in advanced because the price was cut in half. Check in was ran very smooth. The room, water area, and the whole place was very clean. The one thing that stuck out while in the water area was the lifeguards were VERY attentive to their area and the safety for all the children in their pool area. We will be back but will always book 2 months in advanced to get the 50% off discount! read more

We brought a 12 and 15 year old here for a stay while we visited Cedar Point amusement park. The kids entertained themselves and met other kids their age to hang out with, but the water park is geared towards smaller children, so they were still bored. If you have kids between 5 and 11, this would be fun. If not, I would try something else. read more

When we first arrived, we had to wait in line to get checked in for more than 30 minutes. Once we got to our room, we found a pee stain in the middle of our 2nd bed, it was 5" in diameter and should have easily been seen by housekeeping when they put the sheet on the bed. I went and tried to tell them at the desk about the problem but because there was still a decent sized line, I was quickly asked what room number without the person fully listening to me. After leaving the desk, I took my family out to dinner, and to no surprise, when we returned, the soiled sheet still remained. Only after bringing a picture of it on my phone to the desk did they remedy the problem. We also selected that if the separate bedroom suite was available, we would like to upgrade, which I was told was not available upon check in, which was fine. However, when I asked them at the desk on the second day if it would be available for the other night we were booked for, they told me that it was ready because it had not been used the night before. Trying to get 4 kids ranging in ages from 8 months to 9 years old is very difficult in 1 room, and we would have loved to have the option to have a separate room to get the youngest children to sleep early both nights. We also found the hotel to be pretty run down, carpets were not very clean, paint peeling in bathrooms, colors in just about any fabric (carpet, upholstry, linens) to be faded or discolored from over use. The beds were uncomfortable, the pullout bed build into the sofa had a decline at the head of the bed of at least 15 degrees...I don't know how anyone can sleep with their body elevated higher than their head. So that amenity that was listed was basically useless. The pack and play that we were given was nearly impossible to set up because the frame would not snap together unless I was putting all 240 pounds of my weight down on the center and pulling on the handle with all my strength. The only reason I am giving it a second star is because all in all the waterpark was pretty fun, the kids had a good time in it, but even at ages 7 & 9, our oldest kids were bored by the end of the second day. Also, they charge $5 per day for a locker, and they even hold a deposit of $10 per day for the key, they at least let me prepay for 3 days so I didn't have to keep going back for a new key each morning. I'm not sure why they charge a deposit per day, seems pointless, but I got it back, so it wasn't really an issue. It is impossible to get a table and chairs here because every group seems to place their stuff at one to keep from having to pay for a locker. So if you want to be able to sit and get food, you're out of luck unless you show up first. I would suggest to management to charge each hotel guest an extra $5 per night and have "free lockers" so that cheap people would have a place to put their stuff and people like me, who would have bought lunch at Buckets if I could sit with my family, would have a place to sit and eat. This review is for the adults: Do not bother with the "Wine Down Time" program available for after the kids go to bed. For $35 the hotel will deliver a bottle of wine and accompaniments after 8pm. 4 Options are provided on the pamphlet they provide during check-in. The description for the option I chose was something along the lines of "delectable chocolate truffles and chocolate nibs that bring out the fruity undertones of the highly acclaimed wine". First off the bottle of wine was a screw top $10 bottle of wine. The chocolates were delivered in a paper bowl with cellophane wrap over top. There were 6 chocolate truffles which were Lindt Chocolates that they unwrapped. And as for the chocolate nibs.... those were a small handful of Hershey's Bunch-a-Crunch! I'm not a wine snob, and often enjoy a $10-20 bottle of wine. But the description provided made me think I was going to get something more delectable than movie boxed candy and a bottle of wine that 3 of us didn't even want to finish. $35 for MAX $15 worth of product was a HUGE rip off! Save your money and go to the corner store and grab your own drinks for Wine Down Time. read more

On our way to cedar point, we wanted to reserve a room here so we had somewhere to crash when the night was over. The check-in age was 21, but we were 20 at the time. We were worried our age would be a big deal, but the lady at the front desk was really understanding, and with our military IDs, she didn't make it an issue. She gave us bracelets to the water park there, and she was informative to every questions we had. We didn't end up using the waterpark bracelets, but we did go to cedar point afterwards ;) We got a jacuzzi suite and the room was really nice. I love the cottage feel you get when you're in there. The entire hotel actually had a cottage feel, and it was comforting :) Next time we go to cedar point, we're staying here again! read more

Amazing place for children. I thought this place was better for older children, but my toddler loved small slides and we spent wonderful time at the waterpark. A lot of restaurant around the hotel and a supermarket within a walking distance. The burger I ordered at the waterpark was better than expected. Would like to visit again. read more

We really enjoyed this place! It was very nice place especially for little kids! It was super clean even with all the kids! I would definitely recommend spending a little extra for the paw pass, or pup paw pass. It gave you a little extra to do when the kids were tired of swimming and got some pretty cool souvenirs!
