This was our second stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Perryville, and we had another great experience! We visited around this time last year with friends, and this time we came back with family. The biggest improvement from our first visit was check-in. Last year we waited close to 45 minutes, but this time it was quick and easy. There were self-service kiosks, staff available to help, and we were checked in with our wristbands and parking pass in no time. One thing Great Wolf Lodge absolutely gets right is communication. From the moment I booked until we checked out, they kept us informed with emails and text messages about our stay, FAQs, activity schedules, upgrades, and even notified us that the water park would open early at 9 a.m. instead of 11. During our stay, I could text their virtual assistant with questions and always received quick, helpful responses. It made everything so easy. The water park was a lot of fun, and I love that you can enjoy it both before your room is ready and after checking out. We arrived around lunchtime and were able to spend most of the afternoon at the water park, then returned again the next morning after checkout. One thing we were disappointed by was the bar area near the water park. We were told there were TVs there, and since the World Cup was on, we asked about watching the game while hanging out at the bar. Staff said they would try to get it on Fox, but unfortunately the TVs weren't working. It would have been nice to have the option to watch the World Cup there instead of having to go back to the room, and my brother ended up staying in the room to watch the game instead of spending time at the water park. We also had a disappointing experience with customer service at Barnwood, the on-site restaurant, during dinner the night before. I did leave a separate review for Barnwood specifically, but since it is on the property, I wanted to mention it here as part of our overall stay as well. Our favorite part of the trip was the Legend of Luna story time. It was interactive, magical, and beautifully done with special effects that made it feel immersive. My daughter loved it so much she wanted to watch it twice! There were also plenty of other family activities throughout the day, including dance parties, storytime yoga, MagiQuest, bowling, mini golf, ropes courses, mining activities, and more. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Throughout the resort, the bathrooms were consistently clean, and I frequently saw staff actively cleaning. Housekeeping was also incredibly efficient--they were already preparing rooms right at checkout time. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, and even other guests seemed to be in great spirits, which added to the overall atmosphere. Like most resorts, food and extras can get expensive. We decided to skip the breakfast buffet after taking a look and instead grabbed breakfast from the Dunkin' on-site, which worked out perfectly. Having that option was definitely a plus. The only real downside during our stay happened at the outdoor pool. Someone got sick in the water, and while staff removed the visible mess with a net, the pool remained open and guests were allowed to continue swimming. That didn't sit well with us, so we chose not to return to the outdoor pool for the rest of our visit. I also wish guests had the option to use a different payment method at the resort restaurants instead of automatically charging purchases to the card linked to the room. Those were relatively minor issues compared to everything else the resort offers. The water park, activities, clean facilities, excellent communication, and friendly staff made this a memorable family getaway. It's only a little over an hour from home, making it an easy overnight trip, and we'll definitely be back again. read more

Wolfed out on Father's Day weekend at the GWL in Perryville. This location is a little closer to the DC area than the Williamsburg location, which is nice. Also, it's much newer. But it seems a bit smaller than the Williamsburg one. Located next to the Hollywood Casino, there aren't too many stores or restaurants nearby. I had to drive across the river to get to a Weis supermarket. Denny's isn't too far, so that was where I got my breakfast from. The slides were great, the lazy river good, and the wave pool was fun. All in all, I had good quality family time at this Great Wolf Lodge! read more

Staff is amazing, water park is relatively clean, rooms are clean. I can't speak on the other fun things because my kids just want water parks. I can't speak on the dining offered because I'm not paying for that when I can drive and find food somewhere else. My only complaint has nothing to do with GWL as a business. It is the kids. I personally had an unsupervised child pull my chest hair. Then when I said "please stop that" she told me "no hairy man." I saw the humor in this, but I could see someone being enraged. Groups of kids cutting lines, then when confronted, cursing at people who didn't want to be cut. Terrorizing the wave pool, lifeguards blowing whistles consistently. I purchased a day pass for the waterpark for two adults and one child. My 18 month old didn't have to pay (thankfully), and tickets were $60 per person for a Sunday, which isn't bad compared to similar waterparks in the area. This was my first time visiting, and I quickly realized how fast things can add up. From the moment we arrived, it felt like it was going to be an overwhelming day. There were a lot of people in the lobby, and when we got downstairs to the waterpark, there was only one person handling check in with a long line waiting. I did like that they give you towels and life jackets, two less things to bring. I love love love this place. Stayed for two nights 3 days and had a fabulous experience. As always in any Great Wolf Lodge you are allowed to go to the water park and enjoy the attractions outside of your room being ready so we did have a couple hours to wait. And I just love how everything was centralized and safe being that they gear things toward young children there really was only one way out and that would have been the front door so it might be a little chaotic but the safety is there. I saw multiple times people vacuuming and cleaning throughout my stay, around the eating area same thing, everybody was kind. This was one of the best days we've had at a great wolf. I would highly recommend this particular location in Perryville maryland. We didn't really have a lot to do outside of it without having to travel a solid half an hour so we spent most of the time at the resort. Can't wait to go back in the summer when the pool is opened outside as well. For food we were able to easily order through the app at Timber which is there quick hamburger chicken spot. We did one pizza and a sit down at Barnwood I would recommend all three of them. My only tip would be bring your own towels that line for towels is absolutely insane and unnecessary. Just bring your own and things will be much easier. We didn't necessarily rush to get to the pool for opening and we were still able to find an area with a little table for three people with no problem. Highly recommend. The magi quest activity! We didn't do this when we were there only one night and I wouldn't recommend that but for the two nights I definitely would specially if you have a child that wakes up early and the attractions don't open till later. read more

This was my first time ever going to a great wolf location and i wasn't too impressed... my baby dropped her pacifier under the couch in the room and when I got down there to get it, it was filthy under there. The pillows had hair on them from a previous guest. The best experience was the banana split from the ice cream shop. Even though the pastry case was pretty empty and there were sprinkles all over the place... Paying $19 per car to park when you are already staying there is CRAZY TO ME!!! The rooms are already expensive... and that's fine to charge for parking IF YOU ARE THERE JUST FOR THE WATER PARK... but to charge guest when they already have paid a significant amount of money to stay is out of control. Even Disney World includes parking at the resort and EVERY SINGLE PARK if you stay at the resort. We got a VERY EXPENSIVE build a bear and the top wasn't even closed properly. We got it in a bag because we were checking out so we didn't notice the hole in the bear until we got in the car and i buckled my child in her car seat and passed it to her. I live almost 3 hours away so I will go to a local build a bear to see if they will fix it. As a person who LOVES amusement parks, water parks, and anything fun, I wanted to love this a lot. I have wanted to go for years.... But it didn't meet the expectation I had. The Williamsburg location is about a hour or so away so maybe I will give them a try but I'm very sad about it. read more

What can I say ? The Great Wolf Lodge was everything that I had hoped for it to be. It's massive , we spent the entire day at the water park and we still didn't get a chance to experience the entire thing. Yes it was crowded but what water park or amusement park isn't?? Think of this as a bit of a cruise ship on dry land. Lots of legitimately fun activities. Food and drinks galore (though of not great quality). An honestly excellent staff of employees. And so many ways (all the ways) to separate you from your money. THIS is Great Wolf Lodge [Play Jurassic Park Music]. In a massive hotel/indoor water park complex (nearby a casino for adventurous parents that want to gamble while the kiddies sleep) is Great Wolf lodge. It has a mini golf course, some (legitimately fun) 10-pin bowling (that has numerous types of game modes), a great ropes course that accommodates beginners but provides enough fun for more seasoned ropes course types. The staff also expertly shepherded those who were scared through the course. And the water park is great. Not a lot of wait times (especially in the evening), fun slides for every age (I myself slid longer than I planned), and a small lazy river and wave pool if that's your speed. All four of us had a different favorite slide, which speaks to the variety. And I will give a special shoutout to the staff. From the room cleaning staff to the food vendors, everyone was friendly, helpful, and engaged. I was impressed how uniformly professional the staff was across the board. The negatives? The food really isn't good. We went to the brunch buffet and to be blunt, it was one of the worst buffets I've ever been to. Most of it is not noteworthy (for example, the only thing at the carving station is ham), not readily refilled, and is bland. The brownies I later got from the ice cream store (as part of a sundae) even had an off-putting taste. The TV has only very basic channels (essentially limited to Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN for some reason) and a channel that plays cartoons about the mascots of Great Wolf Lodge. The beds were not too comfortable (and the pillows in particular were not great). And none of this is budget friendly. The 2-night stay for 4 cost over $1k, and I didn't even pay for ALL the bells and whistles (I did pay for some of them). Still, I enjoyed myself and my kids were BIG fans. They stayed off their phones quite a bit and the place DOES really prioritize family time. So ultimately, I got my bang for my buck and recommend it! read more

My 11-year-old son has been several times and loves it. It's very family-friendly, and being a nut-free facility is a huge bonus for us. Huge thanks to Megan at Wood's End Creamery and Kelly at Barnwood. Megan was incredibly thoughtful with my son's allergies. She washed her hands, used fresh gloves, opened a new ice cream container, showed us labels--the works. At dinner, Kelly made sure the kitchen was informed of my son's allergies and took great care of us. Food was good but pricey. My son's kid's meal was over $10 and tiny, so we had to share our food with him since he was still hungry. Cobb salad was excellent. Nachos were okay -- bland chicken and raw jalapeños didn't help. The water park was fun but not relaxing. No loungers, just upright chairs. Loud, crowded, and a bit rowdy -- not quite the calm, family vibe I expected. Our room on the 3rd floor was clean, spacious, and quiet despite noisy hallways. A solid stay overall. All in all, I will definitely visit again! I've been to several GWL's and this one is easily my favorite given the proximity to home. The place was very clean, organized and the staff top notch. Just passing through the halls every crew member acknowledged your presence and made you feel welcomed. The dunkin and ice cream shop were great for quick breakfast or treats and the barnwood restaurant was fantastic! I had dinner there several night so drinks appetizers and entrees were not what you would expect at a kids indoor water park resort. If had to nit pick one thing its that I wish the suites (or at least some) had in room microwaves as my little guy has food allergies so we have to bring and prepare his meals. The communal offering worked and was kept very clean considering how many rooms it served on the floor but it was a long walk and required getting presentable enough to dash down the hall. I personally would pay a little more for the convenience if it was offered in some of the themed or family suites. read more

The water park is really fun, but it was dirty. The massive amounts of hair clumps everywhere plus broken press-on nails will make your stomach turn. We went when it first opened in the morning and it was clear no one had cleaned anything. There is also an air vent you can see from the family slide that has close to 30 hair ties and scrunches thrown onto it. The hotel room was cute, but the 11pm quiet time start is insane. It's a family resort with small children that need to go to bed far before 11pm. The walls are paper thin and older kids were running screaming thru the halls. When I called the front desk, they said they couldn't do anything until 11pm. For the money we paid, don't think we'd return. read more

Loved the experience and will definitely come back again with my toddler. My daycare was closed on a non-holiday Monday and my kid's friend invited us to come here together for Sunday - Monday stay. We booked a room for $175 about a month ahead which was a good deal but when I checked 2 days ahead it went down to only $107. So keep checking for deals. we paid $80 for late check out to be able to use the room until 2PM instead of 11AM, it was useful to be able to shower in the room instead of the showers in the water park. The waterpark was really fun. My kid was not too adventurous yet and stayed mostly in the wave pool. She tried the lazy river and didn't like it too much. She is under 48" so couldn't try any of the big water slides yet. I'm sure when she gets bigger she'll be more into those. For adults, we loved the big water slides! I've actually never been to any water parks and I enjoyed the big water slides so much. Kids also liked the Arcade a lot. The room was clean, not a lot of frills and that's totally fine with me. I had concerns about bedbugs bc a few reviews on tripadvisor mentioned it and I checked the beds carefully after arrival. So glad I didn't see anything. The pillows are shabby, so deflated and lumpy, it was only 1 night so I'm ok. My friend brought her own pillows having had previous experience. For food, we tried: --Barnwood restaurant: the burgers and the half roasted chicken are great. Kids liked the burger dinner. They have a prime rib special on their menu that looked very nice on the menu but my friends who had ordered it before said it's bad so we didn't try it --we liked the ice cream from the ice cream shop --ordering for the Dunkin donuts in the morning was a complete failure. There was a QR code in the room that said if you want to skip the line can order on their website, but the website says Dunkin is closed until 11AM when I can see that it's open! Then the line to order at the kiosks downstairs had really long lines and people ordered slowly, understandably bc large orders for big families. When it was our turn we picked everything and couldn't check out (credit card machine was down and we didn't activate room charge by wristband), that was a complete waste of time. Luckily we brought some bread and fruit and just ate that for breakfast --pizza was ok, not the most amazing pizza. My kid normally loves cheese pizza but not these ones. Overall a good experience for the $250 per night that we paid. On weekends and holidays it goes up to $500+ a night for the same room. I'm not sure it would be worth it for me then. read more

I was genuinely surprised and disappointed to be charged $19 for overnight parking. This was never disclosed during the booking process, not in my confirmation, and not on my zero balance due invoice. What's frustrating is that during booking I was asked repeatedly about food packages and upgrades, yet no one mentioned a mandatory parking fee. This isn't a downtown hotel with limited garage space. This is a large property with massive open lots in a remote area. Charging for parking is one thing, but not clearly disclosing it before purchase feels misleading. This left a very bad feeling that what they offer isn't enough unless I upgrade upgrade upgrade. I will never return to this place, I feel ripped off and mislead. read more

I spent $758 for this weekend just to get here and wait an eternity for the damn line to move. This is infuriating. I've never had this issue before. There's only 3 desks open for check in and unfortunately because I used Apple Pay I have to go through the line. You would expect this process to be quick considering how much it costs here but no. Smaller indoor water park but a great place nonetheless. We have been going here for the last 3 years. Normally 2 nights stay. With the stay, you are able to go to the water park for the 3 days. Parking is $19 a day. Food is extremely expensive. You have the breakfast, lunch or dinner buffets. It is $27.99 for adults and $14.99 for kids. We tried the breakfast buffet and it was pretty good. They have a flank steak station. It was just well done. They have eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, pork sausage, Mac and cheese, tots, potato wedges, omelette station, cereals, yogurt and fruits stations. read more

I booked our 1night summer Great Wolf Lodge experience for my family. The resort is fairly new to the area so I wanted to give it a try since it was so close to us. For a cheaper price, I decided to book a Thursday-Friday in which we had access to the water park both days. Beware parking is added to your room at the time of check-in in the amount of $15. I personally didn't like the layout of the hotel room with the sink area being outside of the bathroom area. The hotel room has a refrigerator so definitely bring snacks and sandwiches to avoid the overpriced food. There is only one set of elevators in the hotel which makes it busy for family check-in and check-outs. The water park was great with so many slides, wave pool, lazy river, leap frog pads and the basketball area. The outdoor pool was nice which included a hot tube as well. There is a food and drink bar inside. The waterpark closed at 8pm so we literally stay in there all day. After the water park closes, there are other activities like tight rope, mini golf, bowling and the arcade. The bowling area is extremely to small to accommodate a full hotel with only 4-6 lanes which obviously fulls up fast. The tight rope area was nice. There are a few different restaurants onsite however, a lot of families ordered food from nearby fast food restaurants for a cheaper cost. The arcade closes at 12 midnight which was the teenager hangout. After cleaning the hotel bathroom, I found hair which was gross. The gift shop has Build A Bear inside which is cool and expensive. In the main lobby they have movies playing and scavenger hunts for the kids. The area surrounding the hotel is pretty quiet. There is not a lot to do outside of the resort so, they definitely need to build more attractions on the property. Overall, I would definitely return if I can find a reasonable price again for my family. read more

My sister booked and organized our families of 16 for our first summer event. We had family members from PA, NJ, MD and VA assemble to celebrate her son 11th birthday. The drive for us was approximately 2.5 hrs but after crossing over the tall bridge, it was an excellent view of the Susquehanna River. Once we arrived to Great Wolf Lodge, it was huge with plenty of parking, a loading and unloading area at front entrance. The only problem at the front entrance that I noticed was while guests were loading and unloading, there was no one to direct traffic at the entrance. Therefore most of the vehicles were just parked and sitting there while others behind them cannot move forward or exit that area since it's one way. Once you enter the building, the lobby was clean with a fireplace, gorgeous high ceiling, chandeliers, modern wooden beams, and overwhelming atmosphere. The check in area is on the left. You have the option of self check with multiple kiosk or with a live customer service counter. All guests are required to purchase a parking permit ($19) if you haven't done so during your reservation. On the lower level, there are multiple eateries such as Dunkin Donuts, Campfire Kitchen with a AYCE buffet; Pretzel shop, Ice cream shop, Barnyard gift shop, elevators, a large rope course, bowling, entrance to the indoor water park and a hallway that leads to the exterior pool with cabanas. Though there are multiple entertainment and eateries, they are not 24 hrs. Even the interior and exterior pools are closed by 8p but reopen at 9a. There are some local eateries outside the resort if you decide to venture out. There were a few safety concerns especially at the water park. There wasn't enough lifeguards and the lazy river was very aggressive because some of the older kids decided to race by pushing and hitting anyone in their path. Some of our guests and other guests wasn't able to get into their rooms due to a defect of the wristbands and had to return to the counter to get a new one. At the counter we were assisted by Erica and Ellie. Housekeeping we were help by Heather. They have 23 locations throughout the United States that offers and caters to children and families. Overall, this 700-800 rooms resort was a fantastic place to be, all of their staffs were friendly and welcoming. My nephew and his cousins had a blast! read more

Now I just wonder if someone in billing works weekends that I will receive a call on tomorrow to keep it in the promised 72 hours to receive a call. It has been almost 48 hours since I put in a case and have not heard back from yet. Also just a side note - the parking lot was awful from the snow 2 weeks ago. The handicap spots were not even cleared in between spots and was not cleared from car to sidewalk. Feb 4, 2026 for: Barbara C. 1930 Feb 4, 2026 Absolutely awful!!! The bills you receive do not match with credit card charges on statement. Lines are forever long to front desk! Had same issues last year. Never going again! This is a fun day and very consistent with their other locations. I love that they have family prices on some activities. For the ropes course my one kid changed her mind and they let us switch to another kid no hassle which really makes a difference when you're doing this type of trip. Everything here is overcrowded, overpriced, and could be run more efficiently. Even by "Disney" standards, this place was CROWDED. We visited for one night, two days from a Sunday-Monday thinking the crowds might be a bit lighter. Boy were we wrong. You are shoulder to shoulder in the popular areas of the property, there are not enough chairs for guests, and the wait times for food anywhere is horrible. On top of paying $10 for a basic pretzel, both times we ordered quick service food, the wait was 20-30 minutes. The magic wands were also a price grab: you must buy two halves of the wand plus the game in order to participate. By the end of it all, it was about $60 to run around and light up stations on the main floor. Kudos to the staff though- everyone we had an interaction with was very pleasant and professional. The room itself was pretty clean, although there was a small layer of dust on lesser touched areas (headboards, windowsills, hair in the corners where the vacuum didn't reach). The beds were not comfy, but that's just personal preference. I just expected a bit more for a newer location. Pros: very well themed, newer facilities, clean showers/restrooms/changing area, great staff all around, quick elevators Cons: everything was a cash grab, overcrowded, bad food, text service was annoying sending multiple texts throughout the day, mobile food ordering is flawed Tip: There is no hair conditioner in the rooms and no soap/shampoo/conditioner at the pool showers. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! The sleeping situation is great, there's food nearby, and the water area is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN! My kids loved it. Horrible customer service. 1) If the kiosk and phone number are the way youre going to do business, display the phone number on the kiosk. 2) Cut the attitude when I bring up that I need to get into my room before swimming. I didn't book this, my wife did. I was unaware that we'd be left sitting in the car until 4pm because I wasn't informed (my wife was) and I didnt get the message on my phone. I really get the impression your staff fields hundreds of complaints per day because they sound like disgruntled taxi drivers when I try to bring up an issue, throwing it back in my face and blaming me. We always love Great Wolf and this trip was no exception! The people provide the most amazing service and accommodations. Magiquest, the arcade, and water park were a hit with my tween! Bed is comfortable and feels like it has a mattress pad on top. There IS a microwave in the same room as the ice! Most things are geared toward smaller children (like in the arcade ($25 = about 10 games) and free activities). Magiquest is all on one level and only 1 game (different from some other GWL). For people traveling with tweens and teens it might be nice to have a few free activities geared toward them. A silent disco or dance party after the little one's or a more challenging Magiquest like some of the other GWL? I was in a boot with a fractured foot and they were able to put us near the lobby! If Yelp did half-stars, this would easily be a 3.5, but I can't quite bring myself to rounding up. Maybe a 3.49? Here's my rationale. It's very expensive. Granted, you're paying for very good customer service (for the most part), a ton of water and likely chemicals, the equipment and maintenance, and overall grounds and repairs and s on. The adventure park itself looked to be well kept and maintained. We did not stay in the hotel portion, so I can't speak to that, but the rooms looked okay from what we could see. Parking wasn't too bad, as we found a spot within a few minutes. It wasn't too far from the entrance either. As other reviewers have already said, though, you pay extra for EVERYthing. Yeah, I get that aspect of it, but it does feel like a "nickel-and-dime" situation at times. The food quality was kind of laughable. We ate lunch at Timbers inside the water park itself. Their menu option is seriously limited (burger, chicken sandwich, nuggets, tenders, one salad... and that's basically it!). And the quality was sub-par, which was pretty embarrassing for "higher-than-Disney" prices. (Everyone compares everything to Disney, so there you go). We were denied access to some of the slides at one point due to staffing issues (meaning, everyone was denied... they were closed). On other slides, we noticed one person literally managing three attractions at once. Very sketchy for the Friday before a major holiday. Staff up! But, I will say, that the majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful. And I can't remember walking into the restroom/shower facility once and not seeing someone cleaning up in there! That honestly impressed me! The showers and restroom overall was always very clean! (Speaking for the men's room only, though). But, yeah, overall... for what you pay, you might expect a bit more. I was impressed with the quality and condition of the water park and attractions therein. But, they clearly have room for improvement. Will we be back? Probably! We came here as a family for an overnight stay from Friday to Saturday. The resort itself is huge and the parking lot is massive. There was definitely some questionable people in the parking lot and a strong odor of Marijuana. There was definitely one car that was parked in our row that was beat up and had trash all around it and the guy getting in and out of the car was questionable and border line unsafe. Definitely someone who shouldn't be in or near a family friendly resort or parking lot. So when I checked in and had to pay $19 for the night to park I was astounded that this yo ho was parked in the lot and hadn't been asked to leave. So maybe some tighter restrictions and patrolling on the parking lot. The actual resort itself is beautiful. The decor is amazing. I wish when I checked in we could have had a piece of paper with all the events going on in the lobby for that evening and next day. I know everything is in the app, but I am a mom of two young boys and if I have to look at my phone for more than one minute mayhem WILL happen. So having something tangible as an option would have been helpful. The water park was very nice. There was a lot to do for my kids who are 4 and 5. But the water and air was fairly cold for November so the second we got out of the water it was freezing. So maybe rework a heat a heating system for the water and air space? The breakfast options were limited. Honestly we just wanted to have something to order ahead, pay, and take to our room which left us with the only option of Dunkin. It was pure mayhem to place an order and get it. It was like a swarm of bees around the Dunkin, as pretty much every other family wanted to do the same thing: order ahead, pay, get something to take back to the room to eat. So maybe they could streamline some sort of breakfast service for this. Or make the buffet to go?? It also took over an hour for our food to be ready due to the sheer volume of people ordering from Dunkin. The employees were going full force, I just think there needs to be more to go options. We watched the legend of Luna story which was very nice, but would have been better if everyone wasn't talking so loudly. So it was hard to hear the story and our kids had to keep being redirected so that was kind of a bummer. Overall it was a good experience. Would we come back every year? No. Would we come back again for one more visit when the kids are older to do the climbing experience, bigger raft slides and other bigger kid things? Yes. But probably just once. Friendly staff LIFEGUARDS - amazing! Very attentive. Correct kiddos & I was really impressed. Cons - Everything is $$$ "No outside food in water park" - they took our chips. I rarely leave reviews by after waiting for an HOUR to check in at Great Wolf Lodge, I felt the need to chime in. We arrived around noon and despite several emails encouraging me to do self check-in at the kiosk, it did not work. Name didn't match the reservation (??). This was happening to everyone. So, I stood in line for an hour to check in at the front desk. It was maddening. And there wasn't a manager walking about offering apologies or anything. I think GWL should have comped my parking fee for this insanity. If you can survive the check in experience, you kids will have a great time at all the activities. Magiquest was the top one for us, followed by the water park and ropes course. Just be prepared for overstimulation and a slow check in. read more

I trusted Great Wolf Lodge to host my son's 5th birthday because we had visited a few times before and always had a good experience. Unfortunately, this stay was the complete opposite, and after how everything was handled, we will never return. My son and I were staying the first night, and nine additional family members were scheduled to arrive the second night for his birthday celebration and to stay overnight. Prior to arrival, I called customer service and explained the situation. I was told they would remove the additional guests from the first night only to save money, which sounded great. However, when I didn't see the credit reflected, I called multiple times before arrival to confirm everything was correct. Each time, I was assured everything was fine. Even at check-in, I asked again -- twice -- and was reassured that all nine guests were still included for the second night. At 9:30 PM on the first night, after going down to the front desk for the third time to ask why the sofa beds in our two-room suite had not been made up, I discovered a major issue. The customer service representative had removed everyone except my son and me from BOTH nights of the stay. Less than 24 hours before nine people were set to arrive, we suddenly had no accommodations for them -- despite my repeated confirmations before and after check-in. On top of that, we had to request housekeeping FIVE separate times to make up the two sofa beds. Each time, the request was marked complete, but no one actually finished the job. One staff member unfolded a sofa bed and threw a bundle of sheets on top. In the second room, they simply left the sheets on top of a still-folded sofa bed. It felt passive-aggressive and incredibly dismissive. Finally, at 10:30 PM, the housekeeping manager herself came up and properly made the beds. I overheard on the walkie-talkie that the requests were visible but kept being marked complete anyway -- which is extremely frustrating when you have 11 people staying and need the sleeping space. Then, during our stay, my nephew was denied a towel coming out of the water park because we had "too many towels out" -- despite the fact that we had 11 people staying in our party. The most upsetting part of the entire experience happened early the next morning. At 3:30 AM on my son's birthday, he woke up sick -- coughing, crying, and clearly uncomfortable. I went down to the lobby to see if the quick shop had any tea I could purchase to help him. I explained to the overnight front desk employee, whose name was either Karina or Katrina, that my son had gotten sick overnight. While I was explaining this, she was smirking and holding back a laugh. I was shocked and told her this was extremely inappropriate, especially at a children's resort, and asked to speak with a manager. She left for five minutes and came back alone, saying nothing further. I then had to ask overnight housekeeping staff to locate a manager, who thankfully was on site, so I could report how poorly we had been treated. If you work at a children's resort, compassion should be the bare minimum. Smiling and laughing when a child is sick -- especially on his birthday -- is completely unacceptable and honestly inhumane. We spent close to $3,000 to celebrate my son's 5th birthday, only for the stay to be filled with mistakes, poor communication, rude service, and a complete lack of empathy. Arrived on presidents day and stayed the night. The water Park is smaller than kalahari but I feel less worried about my kids getting lost. There is a good mix of rides and slides for the kids and the lines weren't bad, especially on Tuesday. The wave pool was packed. The lazy river had too few tubes but visually you can see it's a small "river" so you can't fit many tubes. More people were walking in it than "riding". There's only one bathroom inside the water Park and it's also where the changing room and showers are. Lockers were located directly outside the bathrooms and at peak time only the small lockers are left. There's one cleaning woman keeping all the bathrooms clean and she did a great job. Food at the park was average. Pizza was think crust and pasta was just caked with layers of cheese. The Dunkin donuts is horrible. The coffee was as bad as the food and the wait and lines are horrendous. I recommend skipping DD and go for the breakfast buffet or to the Pretzel store. They sell breakfast sandwiches and coffee and there's barely a line. Our room appeared clean until we picked up the sheets. One of our beds had dirty sheets. Kids just slept on top since it was already late and we didn't want to wait for our sheets to be changed. The room needed some vacuuming as we found hair and food under the bed. The bathroom and shower were sufficiently clean and stocked with shampoo, body wash and ample towels and toilet paper. Check in was easy at the kiosk. And you get your wristbands quickly.They charge you $15 night for parking. We arrived at 130 and our room was ready 15 minutes later. Late check out is an extra $60 to have the room until 2pm. What was our takeaway : come only on weekdays when park is not packed full, only stay the night if necessary otherwise worth it to pay for twilight pass to ride all the rides in under two hours. read more

Overall it was a good experience and I'm glad we went, but I don't think I'd go back. Check in was chaotic! And time consuming, even with a reservation. Check your rooms carefully, because it seemed like the housekeeping staff was in a hurry to turn them over. 2 families in our party had to relocate, and my daughter said the crib they gave her was the dirtiest thing she'd ever seen. Quiet hours are 11 pm-7am, and after having a full day of swimming and playing, we wanted to get our children into bed before that timeframe. The neighbors were noisy. The hallway was noisy. We had to have security ask our neighbors to be quiet so that we could sleep. If I went again, I would not stay at the hotel, I would stay offsite somewhere else. The waterpark was a blast. My kids had an excellent time. The buffet in the morning had a wide variety available, was a little bit pricey. We were unable to do any other activities due to cost. read more

I really like great wolf lodge for being a hotel and a water park it's everything else that drags it down. For my birthday, my wife surprised me and my daughter with an overnight stay. The room had a birthday sash across the entrance and a birthday card inside. The water park was busy with the tube rides being my favorite, the lazy river requires everybody to have a tube unless they're with a child that has one which is an annoying rule, the wave pool waves don't get above 6ft. The problem I have was with the arcade being way too expensive. Going through 40$ in credits in under 15 minutes? And the mirror maze being $12 each for 10 minutes that had 1/2 of the interactive zones broken? read more

Had a nice time on a day pass. It's only an hour drive from us so it didn't necessarily make sense to spend the night. Still, the day passes are quite expensive. We were told about a $19 parking fee at check-in but it was waived, possibly in response to all the comments here about parking. Wouldn't have known about it otherwise but paying $19 for a spot in a parking lot would be insane. How else am I supposed to get here? The food was mediocre and overpriced: but no surprises there. It's an amusement park. We made sure to eat off-site at the end of the day and would do so again. Lunch is unavoidable though. Wasn't overly crowded (during spring break) but still busy and loud. The temperature was a little cold inside and at one point or another both of the kids were literally shivering from being wet. Definitely some colder and warmer pockets of air. The water itself was pretty warm overall. No problems with finding a set of chairs for the day. The locker rental is expensive but very easy to use and probably worthwhile. Bathrooms were really clean. Overall had a great time, the kids loved it, and were thoroughly exhausted by the end of the day. We look forward to coming back soon. read more

We stayed Christmas Eve through the 26 ..... I loved the snow land theme but was very disappointed that Santa was delivering gifts so wasn't there on the 24th.... How lovely would it have been to have photos with Santa before he boarded his sled? But overall the resort was as expected ..... the water park was very nice I want to return when we can enjoy the outdoor area as well. The other attractions I do feel are very cramped in one corridor. They have to do better. It was crowded with check in check out shows restaurants rope climbing bowling golf arcade all in the corridor leading to the pool. The noise was so loud you couldn't hear checking in. Just too much going on I'd suggest a build on to include a bigger bowling alley at the least. Luckily we did not upgrade to include those things because we didn't even do anything except the shows food and pool. Expect to spend spend spend to enjoy. I did notice a lot of families had trays of food from home .... Smart idea if you're on a budget with a big family. The food at the Buffet was ok for breakfast,lots of protein and carbs. The Barnwoods food was very good it's worth a dinner there. The staff was friendly and accommodating we kinda wore them out when we got to the room to change the sheets for the pull out couch adjust the heat more pillows etc etc .... Upon checking in you do have a personal concierge text you which makes it so much easier to get issues addressed. Although it was super crowded I didn't feel overwhelmed in the water park area .
