Hey this was fun, as now I'm 0/2 on road trips with the team. See my review of the "Quality Hotel"…read morein Niagara. Checked in at 4pm on a Saturday. Girl at the front desk was as quiet as a mouse, acted like she didn't want to be there and now I know why, and essentially was a mute. I booked a king bed room. Walk into room? And felt like i was inside a cigarette. Smoking room. I DID NOT ORDER THIS!! I DONT SMOKE OR DO I LIKE SMELLING LIKE IT!!!! So I go back downstairs and ask to be moved- they say they only have a two queen bed room. So I tell the manager she's a moron and go back up to my room. Should have walked to the local convenience store and got a carton of Parliaments. The vending machines are empty, the pool is "closed for maintenance," and the whole place is underwhelming. The next morning I waddled down to the lobby for the free breakfast - which looked good. Real scrambled eggs, an option for ones with cheese, brown n' serve sausage links which we grew up on, and home fries. Got a little of each - but the problem??? IT WAS ALL COLD!!!! I made two mini waffles and they were good enough - even though the waffle mix was incorrect. I pride myself on a day after coffee at these places - put in the creamer and Splenda, and then added what looked like a very light roast. IT WAS COLD!!! And the coffee had more water than roast grounds. Man what a joke of a hotel top to bottom.

I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn while attending a conference at Aberdeen Proving Ground…read more This was my first time visiting the area, and as usual, I gravitated toward a Marriott property. The location seemed central, which made it an easy choice. The exterior of the building is modern with an industrial feel, tucked between two baseball fields and behind a newly developed neighborhood -- a nice little gem at first glance. I have to be honest: once I arrived, I wished I had chosen the Courtyard next door. I didn't realize the two properties were collocated. My room felt dated, and the furniture showed noticeable wear. As a Residence Inn, many guests were using their kitchenettes, and the lingering food smells made the stay less comfortable. I even called to switch rooms, but the hotel was at full capacity. For the cost, it served the purpose of my trip, but if I return to the area, I'll likely consider the Courtyard next door instead.

Fantastic location staying on the Ripken compound. But the hotel desk staff is rude and the…read morefacilities are breaking down. We had issues with the pull out couch and my request to help move furniture to get everything working was met with huffs and puffs. Like I was putting them out of their way. The pull out couch mattress smelled of old urine- they did replace it but it was again met with attitude. The last straw was the room temp. The ac unit was broken and wouldn't cool below 73. We called several times. They even said they replaced the unit. Found out later that the new unit wasn't charged correctly and still didn't work. They were to send a 4th tech up to check it out Sunday but nobody showed before we left for the first game. Of course- the manager was never around to speak to so we have not gotten any resolution to our issue as of yet. I might try the courtyard next door next time. It is hard to beat the location and experience but the headache of constant calls to the desk and the lack of any satisfaction is highly annoying. ----------------------------- Update: the manager reached out and was very concerned with our experience. He was able to make things better and helped change our minds about how the facility is run.

The only thing really bad was the noise level at night when trying to sleep. Yes, did complain{after midnight} twice by phone. At 130 am, walked to main lobby to see police in lobby. Was told they were trying to get situtation under control. Meanwhile, kids can still not sleep. Was around 230 am before they could. THen bright and early, 7am this morning started right back up. Not so much the lodge"s fault but the parents that take thier kids need to do better. Meanwhile my daught er paid good money to not be able to sleep at all our last night there. Left early this morning cause everyone was too tired to do anything. Lodge was great but maybe take complete control of unruly guest.

Check-in was slightly chaotic, but the crowds were moderate for the beginning of June. School was still in session for most, so it was a good time to come. The staff was fun and had activities that engaged the kids (and parents - hey I'm a big kid!). My oldest daughter won the hula hoop competition, and the prize was free ice cream. Our package included the ropes course, mini golf, bowling, the slides and of course access to the pools. Our room was clean. It featured two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a pull-out couch and a small refrigerator. If your room is away from the elevator, please bring your walking shoes! You will get your steps in! Other than ice cream, we ate off property both days. There is a great BBQ restaurant Old South Smoke House) nearby and we ordered pizza on the other night. FYI - You have to pay daily for parking
