The children were at the feeding zoo having fun!

We had the best time especially feeding the goats, giraffe,at the kids petting zoo. Our 1 1/2 year old had a blast. It was a terrific place to educate him while he could feed them. He had his favorite spots!

Such an amazing place! Went for the second time this past weekend and had a blast; love the peacocks and chickens roaming freely all over the property! Such a great non-profit place to support!! The baby Wallaby was adorable!! I would highly recommend going. We bought tickets online, but you definitely don't need to. They do offer a discount for tickets purchased online a day or two ahead of time I think (I'm not 100% sure so don't take my word for it!)

We love Plumpton. Kid friendly, lots of shade, snacks, store. You can feed goats, sheep, and alpacas. Very clean and the perfect day with littles! We are already planning our next trip!

Lots of animals and educational plaques. We loved seeing Shadow and Spike, the wallabies and the baby wallaby, and feeding the sweet donkeys.

Loved this zoo. My family and I had a fantastic trip! The lions was our favorite. The staff was super helpful and

Not the biggest zoo, but if you like cats (cougar, Tigers, lions) this is your place. They have other great animals too (giraffes, bears, Goats, camels, raptors, etc); but I think they have more cats than the Baltimore Zoo. They also have wolves (who seem pretty happy to be there). Many of these animals are rescues, including their newest ambassador Harley the wolf pup. Great place to visit for people of all ages - and if you want to see the animals after sunset (when some are more active) make sure to attend one of their annual fundraisers like Brew at the Zoo.

Quaint little zoo! Passing through and decided to stop. It's not huge but it's not tiny either... I will say it's very different that you can buy animal food at the front and get up close to a lot of the animals! And yes, you can feed a lot of them... some of the animals are a bit further away and some need special food... like the giraffe which you can by different food and give it to them... All in all pretty fun and kids really like it. And yes there is a play area for them... and you can even pan for gold... Nice outing with out being overwhelming.

I love this place. It's the perfect size for children. Assortment of animals who looked well cared for. Enjoy!

I worked here as a volunteer for a while, and everybody was pretty nice. Their animals are typically rescues which is also good. Everyone works really hard to keep this zoo awesome and give the animals the care they need. They have a lot of cool animals to look at, and it's a really cool zoo! Also, every Halloween, they host Zombies at the Zoo, and I go nearly every year with my family! There's peacocks that walk around freely, lots of animals to visit, and a reptile enclosure as well which recently got remade. Awesome zoo! It's great and I love this place a lot :)

Dan beat me to the first review!…read more Our vegetarian meet up group just got back from a wonderful tour of Chenoa Manor. It's truly amazing, the dedication and work that the owner and volunteers put into the place. Getting to see the animals graze freely and happily is wonderful, and I especially loved hearing the stories of the animals on the sanctuary. We were lucky enough to visit with a goat and two rams who wanted nothing more than pets and head scratches. The pigs were also entertaining as they rubbed against the fence trying to reach an itch. Other animals who call Chenoa home include: cows, tortoises, turkeys, geese, rabbits, llamas, chickens, mules, horses, parrots, dogs, and an extremely friendly cat. Chenoa also runs a youth program, allowing for high schoolers to spend time working on the farm and tending to the animals. A visit to Chenoa definitely displays the interconnection between species. Getting to be up close with the animals, it's clear that there isn't much of a difference between farm animals and the dog or cat that you call your pet. Whether vegetarian, vegan, or carnist, I recommend visiting the farm during their next tour, or donating if you're able. I had a lovely time, and I will be coming back in the future and bringing others with me.

It does include carousel and train rides though. The zoo had some nice kid-centered exhibits that were fun-namely the bat cave, the tree house/slide, and the goat coral. We enjoyed the penguin feeding. We also saw the elephants being fed. You can get closer to the lions here than in DC. There are rhinos too. Several animals were out of exhibit still "hibernating ". It looks like at one point they had polar bears but not currently. They have flamingos. Walking down from the entrance were several empty and overgrown enclosures. One had a deer in it who I don't believe was a zoo animal. While you can bring food in, there are two places to grab meals with several other stands scattered throughout. We waited about 45 minutes for my kids meals and this lost a lot of time since the zoo closes at 4pm and we arrived around 11:30. Parking is free. We rode the carousel a few times but never made it on the train. The zoo is in what looks to be one of the worst areas of Baltimore. The whole drive there once we entered the city consisted of driving down whole streets where every building was boarded up. With the free DC zoo in our backyard, I can't really justify returning except my kids have asked to return so whether I want to or not, I'll be back.

Rude staff!!!!!! Skip this place unless you enjoy being insulted at the door…read more I had read reviews about the rude man at the entrance, and unfortunately, our visit confirmed them. When we arrived, my husband explained we were a family of five, including our baby who is 9 months old. Instead of simply charging the admission, the man looked at my daughter and said, "Wow, she looks big for 9 months." This was not an innocent observation--it was a shady, backhanded way of suggesting we were lying about her age so he could charge us. For the record, my daughter is absolutely 9 months old--small for her age, no teeth, not walking, sitting in a stroller with a pacifier. His comment was unnecessary, insulting, and immediately set a negative tone. If the policy is that everyone pays--even infants--then state that clearly. Don't make rude remarks about a child's appearance or insinuate dishonesty. I even offered to pay the $6, but instead of being straightforward, he backtracked. For a place that depends on families visiting, this kind of treatment is unacceptable. If you choose to come here, be prepared for a rude encounter before you even get inside. We won't be returning, and I would not recommend this "zoo" to anyone who values basic respect. To the owner: your mouth is bad for your business, friend.

From the pea fowl roaming free all over the grounds (and the males will get in your face if you go near the females to say "hi" or get a picture lol), to the bear sleeping in his water trough on a hot day, to the lazy porcupine napping on a perch, all of these guys were healthy and content! As others mentioned, it's not a huge zoo, but there is an impressive assortment of animals (35 exhibits), and all animals I saw were total extroverts and very fun to watch. My kindergartener was entertained for a full hour, and it was a hot day, so a few animals were hiding out in the shade and not visible, or just unavailable in their indoor enclosures. We heard one talk, at the tiger exhibit, but on a more fairweather day, with a schedule to catch more talks, we could've stayed a lot longer. The (also free) animal talks at different exhibits throughout the day (11am, 2pm and 3pm), are very informative and interesting. The zoo is mostly shaded, outdoor paths in a loop. A small river runs through the zoo, with benches and places to lounge. They do have a picnic grove. Outdoor food is allowed because the concession stand is only open on certain occasions, but feeding animals is prohibited. The staff was super friendly and relaxed, but very qualified, caring, and attentive to the animals. I got a really good vibe here! Only negative was the parking lot is way too small for the zoo and I had to wait for a parking spot to open up. Not only is there not enough parking for the zoo, but it shares the lot with the Splash Park nextdoor, which is nuts in summer months. Do combine your summer zoo visit with a $4 (2024 price) visit to the Splash Park, but arrive early or be ready to battle for parking! Will visit again!
