We recently visited the Great Wolf Lodge for a winter escape with our 1.5 year old and it was a successful trip! We stayed in a single king room and were pleasantly surprised with how much space we had, it didn't feel cramped even with all the toddler gear. Both the hotel and the waterpark were consistently clean throughout our stay. For a high traffic family resort this was impressive and much appreciated. The wave pool and dedicated toddler area were a huge hit. Our little dude had a blast and it was great to have a safe, age appropriate space for him to explore. The lodge is due for some updates, specifically the waterpark equipment - the water jet skis in the toddler area were all broken and material was visibly chipping. While my toddler didn't notice the cosmetic wear, as a parent it is a little worrisome. I'd say visiting in the winter was the perfect way to beat the cold, though it did limit us to indoor sections. We're definitely curious to return when it's warmer to see how the outdoor area fairs. Overall a great choice for families with toddlers, but hopefully, management will invest in some much needed repairs to the play features soon! read more

Run--don't walk--away from this establishment. What was once an iconic family vacation spot is now riddled with issues. As I write this at 1:56 a.m., the fire alarm has gone off three times due to false alarms. Security--virtually non-existent--has repeatedly assured guests it's safe to return to bed. The rides have remained essentially the same for the past twenty years, yet guests are now paying remodeled-resort prices. Many of the water park attractions are covered with "out of order" signs or simply don't work at all. The larger issue is that corporations like this no longer fix problems. Instead, corporate greed takes priority, squeezing maximum profit while providing little to no upkeep. Take a hard look at this place. Yes, it's kid-friendly, and there are a few small activities for children, but if you respect your hard-earned money, you should look elsewhere. Management here is getting the last laugh. Yes, you either will love this place or hate it. Let's get past that right away. It's full of kids, kitschy, and a tourist trap but sometimes you just want to peek in and see how this world turns. At the end of the day, my kids had a blast and I didn't have to sink my wallet, wins all around. We usually try to get to the Dells once a summer and we usually stay at smaller resorts like Atlantis or Natura but I found a deluxe family room here for only $50 for the whole trip. Why not give it a shot at that price point then. First observation, this place is huge. The water park has a massive footprint, three indoor areas that encircle an outdoor area. Lots of pools and slides including a wave pool, small lazy river, and a few hot tubs (including a kid friendly one - you get a star just for that!). They really pack a lot of slides into the building so a lot is indoors which is nice when weather isn't great. My kids never got bored with the water park. A big plus - most of the pool water is heated! Great for a water wimp like me. I actually enjoyed swimming in it :). When we did need a water break, there was other entertainment to explore onsite including Magiquest and an arcade. We mostly played in the water park though, it was easy to spend a day there. Location for the lodge is right off the road. Food and drink options are available onsite. The prices are hot or miss. If you don't want to pay out, you can walk to fast food, restaurants, shops, etc. so you can just park the car and enjoy the area. Parking is additional, which is dumb, so they lose a star for nickel and diming. The room was spacious and laid out well, lots of room for everyone. We stayed on a Sunday - Tuesday so crowds were light and lines were minimal. One thing we did notice was that the resort is showing its age, could use a good clean and a few updates here and there. Our room had VERY much space, enough for a family of 6 loved that part, we only stayed for a weekend first night we had pizza, it was pretty good for a waterpark pizza, price was mid. The only we didnt understand were the charges, you get charged 100$ to use the kiosk when checking in....we asked why they said the money will come back into the acount 4-7 days well if you were like us and had a tight budget that puts a hold on a lot of things because that 100$ could have went towards the trip not the kiosk so now to remember NOT to use that next time IF we come back. Made some great memories at Great Wolf Lodge with the fam! Our recent visit was my first time back since I was a kid myself, so it was certainly giving all the nostalgic feels. Our group decided to rent a condo-suite, as we had four adults and five kids (all age 4 and under). It had a main bedroom with a king bed, secondary bedroom with a queen and bunk beds, and a loft space with a full size bed. The 'living space' was pretty small and awkwardly laid out, but still did the trick. Our balcony unfortunately faced the highway, making it genuinely too loud to sit out there or have the door open, so that was a bummer. The full kitchen had all appliances, which was nice because we cooked in both nights. They provide pots, pans, plates, and silverware. Also a small dish soap. Would have been great if the could also provide mini salt/pepper, mini cooking oil, and paper towel. Those other simple necessities would go along away for sure. So take this as a tip to bring your own! I think the main reason this resort isn't more highly rated is because it's getting pretty outdated. Including some needed paint jobs, carpet replacements, wall patches, and overall decor. Nothing was terrible enough to really bother us, but it for sure is becoming noticeable. Especially when you're paying a good amount of money to stay somewhere. Can't imagine the cost of giving this whole place a facelift, but I bet it would be worth it. The waterpark options are vast. Three (very) large indoor spaces, and a good size outdoor section. Waterslides for all ages, splash pads, lazy river, wave pool, hot tubs... the works! We worried a little that our kiddos could be a tad too young, but we were wrong - there was something for everyone. Plus they provide life vests as needed, and it's clear how great their lifeguards are trained (and they're all over the place)! Safe-fun was had all around. Other positives: The wristbands serve as room keys and you can sync your credit card to it, making it so you don't have to carry cards around. Parking is plentiful. Towels are provided. There are lots of food & drink options on-site. And they had extra kid programing going on around the resort, from kids yoga to bubble dance parties - we loved that. My recent experience with Great Wolf Lodge was, frankly, one of the most frustrating and disappointing customer service situations I've ever encountered--especially for what was supposed to be a fun spring break day trip with my children. I purchased tickets through Groupon for myself and my two minor children to visit the Wisconsin location on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Following the instructions to reserve at least 24 hours in advance, I attempted to use the redemption code online, but it didn't work. I then called the reservation line on Tuesday, March 24. After spending over 30 minutes on the phone, I was given verbal confirmation numbers since the confirmation emails never came through. The next day, after driving more than two hours out of state with two excited (and increasingly restless) kids, we arrived only to be met with another 30-45 minute wait in line. When we finally reached the front desk, the associate couldn't locate my reservation--neither by name nor by the confirmation numbers I had been given. I was passed off to another staff member, and what followed was over an hour of standing in the lobby trying to resolve the issue. Eventually, a shift manager informed me that my only options were either to purchase tickets again directly through their website or to call the same reservation line I had already spent significant time dealing with the day before. Faced with two exhausted children who had now been waiting nearly three hours, I felt I had no choice but to repurchase tickets online just to salvage the day. What followed felt like highway robbery. Groupon refused to issue a refund, citing their "all sales final" policy with this vendor. Meanwhile, Great Wolf Lodge had already charged me the day before (three separate charges for three adult tickets, despite my children being minors), and then charged me again on the day of our visit for new tickets, lockers, and overpriced meals--kids' meals starting at $10.99. I was even prompted to pay an additional $99 for "premium seating." To make matters worse, there has been absolutely no resolution. I called the reservation line again and sat on hold for over an hour, only to be told a case would be opened with a vague 72-hour response window. Groupon offered no real support either--just an AI assistant repeating that all sales are final. The most glaring issue throughout this entire experience was the complete disconnect between Great Wolf Lodge's reservation system, their phone support team, their third-party vendors like Groupon, and their on-site staff. No one seemed accountable, and no one had the ability--or willingness--to fix the problem in real time. This was our first visit to Great Wolf Lodge, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. What should have been a fun and memorable day with my kids turned into hours of stress, confusion, and double charges. My family and I were extremely excited for this trip, especially since my husband had just returned home after being gone over the road for three months. We planned this vacation last minute to celebrate being back together and our children's birthdays, also our youngest daughter is having surgery and we truly expected a great experience. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, things did not go as expected. We were told our room was ready early, but after trying for over 10 minutes to get in, we discovered we had been given the wrong room. Once we were assigned the correct room, it was nice, but the initial experience was frustrating. We then went to the waterpark, specifically the toddler areas, and found them to be extremely cold compared to the rest of the park. Because of this, our young children only wanted to stay for about an hour, which was very disappointing. We also purchased Wolf Passes, expecting them to include a variety of activities as advertised. However, we quickly realized that most activities required upgrades, and only very limited options were included. The goggles we received broke within 15 minutes of use, and many of the activities (such as Build-A-Bear and the games) required additional payment beyond what we were led to believe. This felt misleading. The next morning, we went for breakfast and waited about 20 minutes just to be greeted. We were under the impression that breakfast would be buffet-style, but instead, it was table service with very limited choices (only pork or turkey). While it was described as "all you can eat," it did not meet the expectation of a buffet, especially since additional items like yogurt required extra payment. We also received candy cups, but they only contained gummy candy and did not include chocolate, which was another small but disappointing detail. Later, we used our Wolf Passes for ice cream for the kids and then went to Lodge Wood Fired Grill for dessert. We ordered the lodge s'mores and cookie skillet, but the s'mores were missing the pound cake entirely, and the marshmallows were not toasted. When I spoke to a manager, he offered a refund but took the food away instead of allowing us to keep it or offering to remake it. This felt unnecessary and added to the overall frustration. Overall, we are very disappointed. We saved for this trip and were truly looking forward to making special memories as a family after being apart for so long. The only criticisms I have are that the check in took forever and the staff wasn't extremely friendly. That's not to say they didn't do their job, they just weren't very personable. We visited Thursday-Sunday and had alot of fun. My son is 4 and he never wanted to leave the water park he was having so much fun. I loved all the different water park sections as it made it perfect for kids of all ages. They did only have one worker working two different water slides so the line was EXTREMELY slow for a particular water slide that my son kept wanting to go down which was disappointing. (Half hour wait) We enjoyed some of the free activities they had through out the day like kids yoga, music, pictures with the wolf character, etc. My main complaint would have to be the food. I'm not a picky eater and every meal I had there was bland, tasted slightly stale or tasted like they just reheated a prepackaged meal in the fridge. Also, the majority of the swimsuit dryers throughout the park were broken which was a bit of a pain. Brought the kids and they had a blast. The rooms were in good shape and clean. They also had fun at the arcade and just loved getting tickets. The water park was their highlight and they did the hot tub, pool, lazy river, and even though this was our 3rd trip this was the first time we saw they had a wave pool. All in all a great trip. Why not a 4 star? -On the 3rd day the fire alarm kept going off for "false alarms". -The bucket side stopped working and the kids could no longer get the water dumped on them. -$15 to park each night? No reason to nickel and dime us like this. -Check in was a zoo and so busy. If there's an express way or something it wasn't revealed to us. My main complaint with Great Wolf Lodge is their app wasn't working during my last stay - it logs you out every time. Other than that, we enjoyed the water parks, the arcade, the dancing, etc. I like the on site restaurants they have. It is a little annoying to have to pay parking for each night you stay. 20 hours of my life and $300 I won't get back. We booked an overnight stay for our son's birthday (turning 4). We also have a 2 year old who wanted to go on everything but was limited to where he could go due to size. They love our local splash pad in the summer so I thought this would be a hit. The wave pool and zero depth pool in the toddler area were the only places he wanted to play. I booked a gold dining package as well, but was not notified it could only be used while we were checked into our room. Big bummer because we were planning to spend the whole day in the water park but had to be checked out of our room by 11. The pizza place we had planned to use the credit on for lunch didn't open until 11, so we were only able to use part of the dining credit at breakfast. Luckily I was refunded my remaining amount of credit. It should state this on the website in more explicit terms. I could go on about having to pay for parking but I'll leave this on a good note. My family had a lovely stay here this summer. Our child was in the ideal age-group for this waterpark resort hotel: being tall enough for all but one waterslide, our child was able to really experience most of the resort. Highlights were MagiQuest, the waterpark itself, our great room (including the jacuzzi for us adults!), and of course all the kid/family-friendly activities. We really enjoyed the Wolf Pass for the kid including the Build-A-Bear, nice treats like candy and ice cream, and of course MagiQuest -- we spent a LOT of time doing those activities! BINGO was great! The hotel itself could use some updates: the animatronic show is a bit dated and the door slammed on the animatronic Native American woman and this was an embarrassment. I know that the way that Indigenous folks are treated is often less than ideal but still this is a disappointment in 2025 and I hope this can be updated: Native American culture should not be used in this fashion, really. The cheap kids' goggles and the free ear headbands are okay but nothing special (And the goggles were too cheap to be useful). All in all, I like the location -- close to other restaurants/attractions, and I liked the experience on the whole when one has a young-ish kid. We adults enjoyed the one waterslide our kid was too small for as well. read more

Waterpark is fun and I had a good time but the food is overpriced and crappy. I came here for a school trip and was severely disappointed. I eat gluten free so I got a grilled chicken salad. the chicken was dry and there was barely any dressing for the salad. Half the salad was flat cheese that tasted nasty. I didn't finish it Becasue half the salad didn't have dressing on it. My friend got the burger and it was dry there was one piece of lettuce on it and one tomato, and three pickles covered in mayo. the bun was dry and sad just like the rest of the burger. bummed me out the rest of the day I was really excited about eating there again after years of not going. read more

My 4 year old loved it here, and really that's what's most important. However, as adults we noticed lack of effort amongst staff, lack of up keeping with the rooms, halls, and indoor park. The back of our bathroom door hook was broken off, & the window had all sorts of stains. It took half hour for check in. The indoor waterpark was so dirty walking on the floor was pretty disgusting. The indoor wave pool looking down all you saw was dirt. Absolutely no air conditioning in the halls or elevators which I thought was pretty crazy. Wolf pass was definitely worth it so that was a big benefit. Food was overpriced and not worth it. Asked for virgin drinks but was told everything is premade so they couldn't do that. Positive was there were 3 mocktail choices. All in all, 6/10- wouldn't come again. LOVE the Gurnee, IL location a lot more! read more

We stayed a Wednesday - Saturday in a first floor Black Bear Condo with our 5 month old and 2 year old. The pros: the pool! It is very kid friendly offering two dedicated kid pool areas indoor with slides. One in particular is completely roped off from the rest of the pool completely preventing wandering kids. I also appreciated their Willow AI testing service. Very responsive and easy to use. Lastly, all the free kid activities. My 2 year old loved the clocktower show and meeting the characters. The cons: NOISEY FLOORS! my goodness, if you or your family are light sleepers, request a top floor room/condo. We heard everyone above us walking around and opening doors. It was bad. Also, we used a pack n play from Great Wolf and also horrible. The mattress clearly did not go with the pack n play. Due to this, the structural bar under the mattress would stick right into my daughter's back. We padded it with towels and blankets but definitely something to check out if using one of theirs. Overall, very kid friendly and fun trip. read more

To start out. Don't believe the slogan, the price you see is NOT the price you pay booking. I was suppose to pay a specific amount. And when I got my invoice at checkout, it was a lot higher then this supposed, price you see is the price you pay lie. Prices are very expensive here so plan on eating down the road. Long check in lines. Pools are very crowded, and life guards barely speak English. Another issue you'll find is you have to pay $19 extra per night parking fees as well as resort fees that they say they don't charge. Oh yeah, they also charge you almost 8% credit card fee. So BEWARE. Don't be fooled by the low room rates cause they definitely get that back without telling you. It's all another resort that spoofs you at the end of your stay. Probably why they don't give your bill prior to checkout. Not happy with this place. Very Doughtful ill ever come back. Disney world is cheaper. read more

I booked what I thought were decent packages online through the app before our arrival. Upon arrival I found that I actually wound up paying more than I would have if I had just waited and paid on site. Normally when you buy packages online it's because you are being given a discount. The packages I purchased weren't a matter of scarcity, so there was no reason to pay more ahead of time. Corporate should really reassess their online packages as they are misleading and will only wind up causing mistrust between customers and Great Wolf. Based on this experience my family and I will be taking our business elsewhere in the future, no more Great Wolf Lodge for us. On top of that the hotel rooms are dingy and outdated, the food is nothing to write home about, and the indoor waterpark is subpar at best. read more

Its great for little kids under 10 years old, the extra activities/dance party/clock tower is more for kids under 6 years old. The gift shop is overpriced which isn't out of the ordinary. I love love love the app and being able to text the hotel staff. The bad - we stayed during the week with our very young children to save money and less people there. On Thursday from 830pm-11pm it sounded like older kids were jumping off of their beds over and over above us. My kids were actually scared and kept asking if their dad was awake and if we were safe. I reached out to the staff around 930/10pm and they said they would send security but nothing changed. It stopped around midnight. It was awful. White noise couldn't even drowned it out. Also the entire bucket dumping part of the water park was ICE COLD. Everybody packed in the other areas and that one stayed empty. We went for the bucket drop. Boooo read more

The main attraction slide was down and the lines for any other slides were out the door. Will never stay here again. As far as I am concerned they should file for bankruptcy now. They cannot possibly compete with the other much more superior resorts. I don't need to stay anywhere where the staff act like they are doing you a favor just to do their job. read more

We had a great time staying 3 weeknights at Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells. We had 2 adults and a 6 year old kid. We stayed in a regular room with 2 queen beds, the room was fine and the beds were comfortable. We loved the water park. Our first full day everything was open right at 9am, which was great. There were no lines for anything, which was awesome. We had done almost everything by about 11am when my husband finished the work he did that morning and came to join us. So we could show him everything. But the 2nd day a bunch of rides were closed, life guard shortage it looked like. That was a bit disappointing. It also led to lines. Our final day it seemed like most of the rides were open by about 10am so that was better. We hit the water parks in the mornings, ate lunch at the water park, and then in the afternoons we did Wisconsin Dells things (Deer park & Riverside Great Northern Railway, Buffalo Phil's, Alligator Alley & Ducks boat tour,). This is our second time staying here and it will most definitely be our last. From the moment we checked in, I had known I made a mistake booking here. The doors when you first walk in to check in were disgusting. Fingerprints, and god knows what else. They clearly don't care that is the first representation of the hotel. It only got worse from there. As, soon as I entered the building, there was little to no air conditioning on in the main hallway and I soon found out this was going on throughout the hallways in the hotel. The check in counter was being run by children, it took 20 minutes to check in because they all didn't know what they were doing and kept having to stop to help each other. Also, after they rob you blind for the daily rate they have their hand out for a parking fee per day. The price per day when I booked was around $420, upon receiving my email receipt they charged me $544 for one day. We booked the kid cabin suite, and as I said have been at this hotel before. Imagine my shock to see that they took the TVs out of the kids room. When I call to see if maybe I had booked the wrong suite, they said the TVs had been purposely taken out. You are unable to communicate in basic English to the majority of the staff here and really anywhere in the dells. To not be able to speak English and you're a lifeguard? That's kind of scary. Every employee here was down right nasty. I watched a bar tender send an African American guest back to his room for his ID but upon another guest of a different nationality he never even carded them. All in all, I would never ever return to ANY great wolf establishment. The fact that they charged me OVER what the amount stated when I booked is fraud plain and simple and I plan to report them to my credit card company. They even sent us to a person higher up and it has been over 2 weeks of showing him the proof and he has never responded. Very unprofessional and rude as well. Be aware if you decide to go here. It is not worth the hassle. I recommend looking into other places in the dells. What I loved: what a great waterpark for children and families. The indoor water park has so much to do, from the wave pool, to tubing down slides into the lazy river, and areas for small children, plus jacuzzi's. We especially loved story time at 7:30pm and disco hour for the kids. The lobby is decorated for children and it was special for me to see my son so happy. The rooms were very spacious with 2 beds, a roll out sofa bed, plus the loft area with a bed and extra bathroom. The room even had a little living room area with a fireplace. We very much enjoyed our time at Great Wolf. Opportunities for improvement: I was disappointed to see such unhealthy food choices. Before breakfast, me and my 2 year-old son went downstairs to get a coffee and a small snack/breakfast before the rest of our family woke up and we were hungry. I was saddened to see only donuts, cupcakes, fudge, and other sugar equivalent items on display during breakfast hour. I got a Starbucks coffee, since they serve Starbucks there which is great, but my son had no decent options and chose a cupcake. I actually felt sad that my son was eating that first thing in the morning. He actually only took a bite and didn't want it. He loves eggs, oatmeal with fruit and nuts, greek yogurt with berries. I would love to see healthy delicious options at Great Wolf. For this reason I'm not sure if we'll return. This hotel definitely caters to families with young children, so be prepared for that. The kids absolutely loved their stay, the adults just so-so. The Good: *Waterpark is pretty awesome, and not overly crowded all things considered. It's a weird layout but once you get the hang of it, the kids will love it *Majestic Bear Suite with two bathrooms and bedrooms had plenty of space, a microwave and fridge *Very friendly employees *Good location with lots of stuff nearby The Not So Good: *Very uncomfortable beds- we called our bed the marshmallow since it was so soft, neither of us slept well *No housekeeping at all. I realize most places have moved away from daily housekeeping, not no housekeeping for five days is a little much *Room was not ready when we arrived despite being after check-in time, pool constantly ran out of tools *The "special" winter activities were pretty meagre Overall, it was a fun experience but I'm not sure it justified the exorbitant price tag. After I cancelled Wilderness for a ten times better price for Great Wolf through Groupon.com I was a bit hesitant to see what I signed up for. In all honesty, my family and I were very pleasantly surprised with our results. First, it's awesome that Great Wolf allows for up to 6 people per room. Four children and two adults makes it rather difficult to find accommodations that suit our needs in typical situations. Upon our check in the woman was very accommodating and offered upgrades. However, since we paid approximately 70% less than their list price and the upgrades did not include this discount we declined. We were on the 4th floor and it definitely helped we had high ceilings, it felt like we had more room than we did. If you are looking to stay for a rest and relaxation vacation, request farthest from the main lobby. Fun times were had by all! My family and I enjoyed the Tornado waterslide, which was absolutely awesome! Hands down, this waterslide was the best. The other waterslides weren't the greatest, but the racing one was fun enough. Every night Great Wolf also had a dance party with bubbles and music, a definite plus for families. Would we return? Yes. read more

We have been coming here since 2002 and yes things have changed a little. Check in was easy and there is now a $15 a night charge for parking. Kids still received their free wolf ears in the gift shop. Rooms and decor are the same but with updated bedding. Some furniture has been replaced, like nightstands, but mostly it's all the same so yes there's wear and tear but still not too bad. Water park is the same. Exactly the same which made it fun cuz we bought the grandkids this time. They open later in the morning and close earlier at night but still enough time to wear the kids out. Drinks and food are pricey but that's how it is everywhere. I did purchase the dining credit where you pay $120 b4 check in but get $150. The restaurant in the lobby is the same as when it was called the Loose Moose Bar and Grill but the taste just isn't there. I would recommend leaving the hotel for your big dinner or breakfast. All the staff we encountered during our stay were polite and helpful. read more

When we got there the fridge wasn't working and I called to let them know and within minutes I had a new one. The tornado ride definitely needs a Conveyor belt for getting those rafts up to the top. They are very heavy with alot of stairs. Loved the ride but was only able to go it once due to the tremendous hike with the raft I had to go through. Very friendly staff and lots of events for the kids. Very overpriced on the food but it was delicious. We also took advantage of the refillable souvenier cups for our stay. I would recommend this hotel but know they also charge you $400 hold (which we were not told about till check in) and it gets refunded 5-14 days after check out (depending on your bank). Very clean rooms and again the staff was very friendly and helpful. read more

This has been my favorite of the Great Wolf Lodge locations. Our wheelchair accessible room was spacious and beautiful. I love how they have accessible pool lifts for every pool, jacuzzi, and even the lazy river. The outside pool had a lift and a zero entry for wheelchairs. The wave pool had zero entry. The splash pad is also accessible and so much fun. There's a cool arcade, and we even did the Magic Quest since it came with our room package. Pizza was just OK, but my kid loved it. The little shows, kid yoga and coloring contests were hits with my son. We had such a wonderful time, we can't wait to go back! read more
