We have been ordering delivery for a few weeks and decided to review based on the consistency of the food, and they have been the best in our area so far. We always order different things to get an overall feel for the food. Wonton Egg Drop Soup is decent. Fried Dumplings are excellent. Chicken on a stick was nicely seasoned and very good. Tonight we ordered the Great Wall Special. It was great. The chicken and beef were tender. Nice sized shrimp were delicious. The roast pork was a little chewy and tough. But the scallops and crab meat were also great. The sesame chicken was also very good. Delivery has also been quick, within a half hour. Sorry no pictures, we were too busy eating!! read more

I had the Mushu pork I was a bit disappointed it's supposed to have a fungus not a regular canned style mushroom and this was not that very tasty nothing the right home about the skins the wraps we're not really steamed and there was no rice I had Szechuan wonton which was mediocre sweet which is shouldn't have been did deliver it put you know pretty good if you get like a 11:30 order they have their own delivery service you don't have to go to Uber Eats or doordash that's good I haven't tried other things like I can't be just about the only one I had read more

Great Wall has been a decent Chinese place for the 3 times I've gotten it over the past 6 months. Until yesterday. My fiancé & I got our dinners, my beef chow fun and her broccoli & garlic sauce (which wasn't really garlic sauce, it was brown sauce. But the Lo Mein she got with it was thin, very thin. They must be using a different type of noodle because it was mushy (I'm guessing because the thin noodle would obviously cook a hell of a lot quicker). And to top it off there was a piece of a brillo cleaner in her broccoli as she neared the end of her meal. God knows what would have happened if she swallowed this. I gave this place so many tries and every time is more disappointing than the last. The ribs are tough and greasy...just a big ol bag off gristle. And, they are so stingy even with chicken...You order chicken with peppers and onions and you get a quart full of onions & peppers....and a few pieces of chicken if they are feeling generous. I honestly don't know why this place got so many bad reviews. I think they are pretty good. My kids love their Chicken & Broccoli. Their Shrimp with Lobster Sauce is pretty good. I like their pork fried rice better than most Chinese Take Outs - Great Wall's Pork Fried Rice isn't overly dry and has good flavor compared to many Chinese Take Out's I've had. I also like their Wonton Soup - the broth has a good flavor as does the wontons. I can also say their Fried Wontons are good. They are crispy and have a good flavor and again unlike many other Chinese Take Out Restaurants I been too, their fried wontons don't kill my teeth (most places chewing them is impossible). read more

My go to chinese fast food on lazy nights. We usually always get the pork lo mein and chicken and broccoli. The husband always gets the fried dumplings. 95% of the time the food is great. Occasionally there is a hit or miss depending on if we order something different. Today we got pork mei fun and unfortunately there was a little lacking of flavor and the ingredients weren't mixed together that well. We also go the pan fried wonton with garlic sauce. The sauce was quite thick but i really liked it. Nice change of pace since my hubs always gets the fried dumplings. read more

Just moved here and wanted some Chinese food. We ordered a lot of food and it was ok, nothing to brag home about. Our guests chicken and broccoli was not cooked well, the chicken was rubbery and raw you can tell it was rushed. The shrimp spring roll was a chunk of shrimp in it with some veggies. The wonton soup did not have good flavor. The young lady at the front was very friendly, pleasant and accommodating. Would I go again? Not sure but maybe the 2nd time might be better. I believe in second chances so we will wait and see. read more

Pros - they had the order 100% right, and provided a box that made it easier to carry. Cons - food quality - the chicken in the chicken and snow peas was very rubbery - seemed more like a chicken "product", similar to what you would find in a McNugget. The beef sticks were very tough - like beef jerky - although they did have a decent flavor. The chicken fingers (with sweet and sour chicken) had only a very small amount of chicken meat - mostly breading and perhaps some chicken broth. read more

I really don't know where the 4 and 5 star reviews are coming from... had delivery thinking this would be decent food... NOT.. This kind of slop has no business calling itself "food". Cheese Wontons had a thin coating of "cheese like substance" inside, but it was barely noticable - might as well have been empty wrappers. Honey chicken was over-sweet and mostly breading - couldn't find the "chicken" in those nuggets of fried crap. Same with the General Tso's. Egg Fu Yung was barely passable and came already smothered in overly-thickened "gravy" which should have been packed separately anyway. Hot and sour soup had no meat in it and tasted mostly of vinegar. Roast pork fried rice was bland, and lacking in everything but rice - half the grains were pale white still... Overall - YUK. Won't EVER order again - no 2nd chances for something this bad. Do yourself a favor - order from somewhere else, and if you do pick-up, just drive past. read more

Just yestersay (9.24.14) I received some newspaper providing local deals and such...while going through it all I came through a menu from this place. What made this stand out from any other Americanized Chinese restaurant...they served noodle soup. That definitely caught my eye and the pictures made everything looked oh so good. They have: Dumpling noodle soup only or with duck Chicken noodle soup Beef noodle soup Seafood noodle soup Vegetable noodle soup. I think I am missing one or two Anywhoo, since I saw it yesterday, that's all I could think about eating for dinner. It was either go eat right after work or hit up the gym after work. Guess which one won? Lol When I got there there was a few people in line ordering. It's a pretty small spot. There was about 3 tables there and I believe it was taken up by their kids. So if you want food here I would consider taking it to go...order in advance or order upon arrival. Whatever floats your boat. So, I tried the wonton noodle soup with duck while SJ got the shrimp noodle soup....oh see I knew I forgot one. Shrimp is not listed up above. We ate it at home. What I didn't like how they package their food (I guess I am use to my Cali ways). They should have separated the broth with the noodles. What if I wanted to heat up the broth more? Also, another reason why I prefer taking this home is because they didn't have satay. Satay makes the flavor so much better. Overall, we both thought it was okay. The broth was good but the vermicelli noodle they used for dish didn't go so well together. Well he thought it was okay because he didn't like the noodle they used. And I thought it was more than okay...I guess good but wasn't the best. I would eat it again but probably not so often because I am not s super fan. I think if they used another type of noodle like egg noodle (like mi lay cay...look it up...this noodle soup is bomb) it would taste so much better. We placed and order and we chose something else. We called back right away to cancel it. And the driver still showed up with the food. Thats not our problem we already cancel it maybe the people here need to communicate better with their drivers. Plus when I called up the woman was super rude I didnt hear her when she said pick up or delivery. So when I told her delivery she gave me an attitude problem. And she was like I asked you that already so why didnt you say that. Then I got a phone call up this other rude girl there that said we cant order from them anymore. Because we cancel our order. We are customers and sometimes people change their mind. Anyways your food taste like shit anyways its always over cooked and nobody should ever go there. We've been going here for more than 2 years, and we've been very happy every time! The fried wontons are delicious, and so is the sesame chicken, wonton soup, egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, beef & broccoli, pepper steak, dim sum (yum!).... The dumplings are pretty good, and so is the fried rice. They're very fast, and so is their delivery. They're friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this establishment! read more

Gross food..Yesterday I ordered the Beef Lo Mein with Veg. Fried Rice with Wonton Soup from the lunch menu. The food was on the verge of being rotten. It had an old taste to it. I had this same experience at another Chinese place by me. I'm not going to take a chance and ever go to them again, cross it off my list of the plenty of chinese places to choose from. In the area of some of the places that I was never disappointed with are are Best Food Kitchen in Selden, King House Centereach, Tofu Farmingville and the one in the ShopRite shopping center in Selden which has been there for years. I waitressed in an upscale Chinese restaurant back in the day so I know what excellent food is. This place is awful. I ordered shredded pork with garlic sauce extra spicy. I got overly sweet, not spicy tough, chewy pork pieces, unevenly cut vegetables and under cooked rice. Nasty. So far only Tofu and LOL have come close to serving authentic food. read more

This is the worst example of a Chinese food place. I have never experienced something so bad in my life. I ordered sesame chicken with white meat only and there was no chicken in it. I began picking at it and realized I was eating mostly dough. I also ordered pork and strings beans. The pork was hard and the string beans cold. I wanted a good egg roll. What I got was a an egg roll that was so hard that you could not bite into it. The cheese wontons...well don't expect cheese. There was a drop, and I mean a drop of cheese in them. After being so disgusted I finally decided to call them and complain. I got a women that said if I ate any of the food I could not get reimbursed. I told her I did not get what I paid for. She said she didn't understand because the food comes in "pre-made everyday". Everything comes in daily pre-made I said. I was shocked. I never heard of such a thing. It all made sense why the food was horrible. It was all boxed. Frozen food is what I was paying for. How ridiculous. How could they call themselves a Chinese food restaurant? We were fed up and wanted recourse so we went there with our frozen food. The lady there argued with me about what I was saying. Finally after arguing with my boyfriend she gave us a refund. What this women kept saying was "this is your first time ordering". As if to insinuate that I should accept the poor quality of food and next time it will be better. In comparison to the other local delivery Chinese restaurants here in Selden a Great Wall stands out. They're on time, if not early (average 20 minutes) and the food has been fresh. They have a couple of menu items not usually seen on other delivery spot menus which is nice too. read more

I seriously would rather just give this place no star at all but need to select something in order to write this review.. we've ordered here quite a few times, the food is not the best we've had but it's decent for what's around us. Today, we ordered and had Home delivery and coming to find out we were missing the large chicken with broccoli that we ordered. When we called to explain, the Chinese woman decided to loose her cool and go off talking about how ridiculous we are that she packed the bag herself! I understand you packed the bag, but I'm telling you we are missing a part of our order.. after going back and forth and her arguing, we cut our loss of the money we paid.. they are very unprofessional and do not need to run a business! Btw, she then decided to start yelling on the phone in Chinese like I understood that ish! I had to tell her to relax and to be professional! I ordered a QUART of Chicken Lo Mein with mushrooms and water chestnuts, Fried cheese wonton (6 piece) a pint of sweet and sour chicken and a pint of wonton soup... What I received was a Pint of Chicken Lo Mein with NO mushrooms or water chestnuts and about 4 pieces of chicken (but paid full price for the quart size) only got 5 pieces of the cheese wonton which had almost no cheese in it, sweet and sour chicken that had pieces of fried NOTHING (no chicken in the middle) and with my entire order I got 1 fortune cookie, and when they asked me what sauces I would like I said duck sauce and mustard, they put in ONLY 1 packet of each... COMPLETE RIP OFF SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO ONE OF THE MANY PLACES AROUND IT INSTEAD! read more
