When I contacted them to say I wasn't ok with them taking our tank against our will when we were up to date in payments without compensating us for the propane in it, their response was to cease all communications, then show up unannounced in the very early morning to take the tank and the propane we had paid for without any warning. Great valley propane is a reliable propane delivery business. Reading some of these reviews I get the feeling a few of them are not totally truthful. If your an automatic delivery customer you get deliveries automatically based on your usage. Will call customers are responsible to monitor tank and call accordingly to get on the schedule for delivery. During winter I would assume they are extremely busy so it could take 5 to 7 business days to get your delivery. You can't call in at 10% or less and expect they can realistically get to you before you run out. I have been both on automatic and will call with a few different companies. I was always told to order my propane at 30% to 40% in the winter so I wouldn't run out before delivery was made. Sounds like a few of these negative reviews were written by people who ordered way too late when they were close to running out and are not taking ownership of their mistake and blaming great valley propane for them running out. When your a will call customer you must be proactive and order way before you could run out. I personally have had great experiences with great valley propane the times I have used them. read more

Do not use! I have only used them for two winters and they have let me run out of heat twice, even though I call in the appropriate time. Joan is condescending and they do not care if you run out of heat. I have called their emergency line just to be told, "well, we don't have any trucks out and we're not sending any out." Today, they let me run out of propane again and when I called they said emergencies only. I asked isn't this an emergency and was told they only fill for their customers that are on auto fill, not the customers that call. When I called a week ago, I was told they were on a 5-day delay which means I should have had my propane two days ago. I cannot wait to get rid of these guys. read more

First, let me say Christine Hahn is One of the rudest, most unprofessional people we have ever dealt with. The fact that it is the year 2025 and they don't have updated systems to put people on budget plans Throughout the year, based on when they move in should tell you a lot about a company. Outdated and behind the times!! First off we totally got screwed over by our builder Lennar that stuck us with this subpar local company Called great Valley, which is anything but great. We were on a budget plan and in fact our payment was due yesterday, but our card on file was locked due to fraud, And we completely forgot that was the card they had for our propane bill, Mind you this is one day late, the payment was due 3/21 and this is the email we got this morning at 7:20 AM from Christine. DO NOT deal with this company! We've used Suburban Propane and they were excellent. Buyer beware!!!! We called and paid these clowns in full so we do not have to deal with this mess on a monthly basis. Unprofessional, and rude. Christine should be fired and they should actually get an employee that knows how to deal with people with good customer service. this is her email to us below: Jason, I agreed to allow you to make payments on your 1/10/25 delivery. I don't appreciate you falling back on your word on this. First of all, we don't really allow customers to make payments. You must either be on the budget plan or pay for your delivery in full. We were contracted customers of Great Valley Propane for almost 12 years. The customer service and billing functions have always been a bit of a challenge as we frequently found errors and had to keep our own detailed records. This past year we called GVP when we smelled gas in our home. They were not able to offer assistance and referred us to our plumber who determined that we were out of propane. The tank was supposed to be monitored and filled automatically as needed by GVP. Despite the failure to fill the tank from our prepaid account in a timely manner, we had to fight for reimbursement of our plumber's bill and were left with a malfunctioning heating unit. We decided based on this situation to buy our own tank from a new propane provider. We called GVP to arrange for pickup of their tank. When asked about how we would be credited for the residual propane in the tank that we had already paid for we were told they don't usually do that. After several calls, they're sticking to "they don't usually give credits" in this situation. I don't usually write reviews either, but I made an exception this time. read more

Buyer BEWARE! Just HAVE To rant and I never do reviews. QUAKERTOWN - MALVERN This company was fine when we signed up for propane 2 years ago. This past year has been a NIGHTMARE!!! They delivered propane in May when we had discontinued auto refill back in January due to myself being laid off and we only need propane in Jan/Feb months. WELLLLL I got a bill for $670 for this UNAUTHORIZED delivery 5/31. I called to advise we didnt order propane. "It was an error on our part" said the lady who answered the phone. I said I was not paying this since we only need propane in January as back up to our heat pump. Said they would have it rectified and I would get a call. No call, No letter. THEN we get a collections notice in July!!! Called back, told them to come get their propane, I am unemployed and honestly didnt need this headache. Christine Hahn the office manager offered a discount, and said I could pay whatever I could afford. So agreed to $50 a month. THEN 2 days later I get an email asking when I was going to pay!!! 7/31 we agreed on $50 a month and this woman is threatening to lock down my tanks and demand full payment a week later. THEN she called me a liar and that I was using their propane up but not paying! Said that she went above and beyond for me, WHAT??? We only use propane for heat in winter as back up to our heat pump. They made an error and were throwing it back on me. This lady is nuts. UNPROFESSIONAL PRACTICES and completely disorganized ditzy office staff. Submitting complaints to the BBB as well as the attorney general along with all of my documentation and emails showing what they did and what they said to me. Had these clowns come and remove their tanks today, do NOT recommend them to my worst enemy. Christine also never responded when I questioned her as to why she would threaten a customer when a week prior said I could pay what I could afford. I was shopping for a new propane supplier after constantly being price gouged by Amerigas. I called GVP. Their sales rep came out, looked at my tank and property. I decided to make the swap, signed the contract, etc.. A few days later, the tank installers came out to look at the tank and said they might have to move it-but that it shouldn't be a big deal. Move it? Why? It's been in the same spot for 20+ years( I recently acquired the home- tank was leased by former owners). I then got a call from the sales rep stating "Bad news, the tank needs to be moved and all the gas lines to the house and pool would need to be replaced/retrenched. He said he wasn't sure how much it would cost but his guestimate would be $3500. I canceled the contract and started calling other propane suppliers. Long story short, Dieter Bros. came out, swapped out the old tank, put the new tank in the same spot-no new gas lines or trenching AND better propane price. It pays to shop around-Shame on you Great Valley Propane for trying to take advantage of me. read more

I've used this company for three previous orders with minimal issues. The company repeatedly sent me past due notices when I paid my bill the day after delivery. On the most recent email from them stating I had a balance due I corrected them and they agreed via email. I then stated that I was out of town and would call them when I returned to place an order. Before I could call them upon arrival, they showed up and filled my tank without my order. On top of that, they jacked the price up by $1.00 per gallon over the previous order which increased the total by $300. This remains in dispute and a large headache to me. Christmas morning 5AM, we discovered that we we out of propane due to unexpected high usage on our part. I decided to call & leave a message expecting a call back after the holiday. Instead they answered the call immediately and Dan delivered propane within the hour (before 6AM), despite being a half an hour away. He couldn't have have been more pleasant and helpful. I originally switched to GV Propane because they were significantly less expensive than our past supplier and much easier to work with. I can't give a higher recommendation. Thank you. read more
