There was a dog we were interested in adoption and they never follow through three applications were put in one by myself when my husband and another one my daughter-in-law did and none of us receive any contact from these organizations. It is a shame we wanted to adopt from a rescue or a shelter however, they don't care to have these pets adopted? After waiting calling texting emailing and no one returned your call or an email or a text. I went ahead and purchased. Two puppies from breeders. It is a shame that these organizations say they want to place into a good Home however, never bothered to follow up.

Why? Because our rescue is a network of homes throughout our communities that step up and answer the call to end the animal welfare crisis. Our volunteers, when funded well, remove at-risk dogs straight from the streets and place them directly in to their forever homes within our Volunteer Sanctuary Pool Alliance, and not a temporary overcrowded and poorly funded shelter. This membership, (The VSPA) is one that anybody can join for free. All adoptions are free. And we raise funds to support our members. It's that simple. The animal welfare crisis can not be handled by one single shelter or charity. The crisis is a community problem. And community problems must come with community solutions. So join our alliance and make a difference. Even if you are not wanting to adopt or foster, the more our alliance grows, the louder our voice is. I know all monies raised by the foundation remain local, so I'm very happy to volunteer for this organization and to donate when and where I can. For the past 3 years, Real Wishes Foundation's largest fund raising event has been Dancing Like the Stars. I have been at this event every year since its inception and will definitely not miss it this year. It will be on July 11, 2015 on Ft. Huachuca. I have traveled and lived around the world over my life but the Real WIshes Dancing Like the Stars event is as entertaining as any Moulin Rouge or Lido show I have ever seen (minus the nudity :-) Tickets for Dancing Like the Stars are now being sold at Dillard's and online at http://www.realwishesfoundation.org/ Great charity, great event, I won't miss it for the life of me . . . and neither should you!

If I did not happen to be someone who keeps extensive records to immediately disprove the report point-by-point, that could have truly been a nightmare and caused substantial additional trauma for my daughter. The experiences with Casa did, unfortunately, make her very wary of mental or behavioral health services. 2) I am amazed and endlessly grateful to see the positive changes that have occurred since she stopped getting "help" from the Casa workers. Her confidence and activity levels have soared, she's so much less fearful and depressed and anxious and confused and isolated all the time. I truly wish I would have trusted my own knowledge and instincts and not let these "professionals" keep making my daughter and I feel like they know more about us and what we should do and feel and think than we do. I guess there's some silver lining out of this nightmare. I am thankful that, if nothing else, it definitely made us closer. It's hard for most teenagers to recognize what their parents do for them and appreciate it and see how much we care about them, but after seeing how awful and manipulative and biased and self-serving the employees were, it was really a wake up call for her. She's so much more appreciative and grateful and motivated for both the present and the future now. So I guess at the end of the day, Casa de los Ninos did help us, but unfortunately, it was through the damage caused by their professional incompetence, agenda-pushing, overreaching, undermining, and boundary-crossing.
