I wasn't a fan of the yams, too much cinnamon for me personally, however the other sides were great. The service was okay. They were very busy and only had one server on the floor. She was extremely overwhelmed which was not her fault. She was even making drinks behind the bar. They needed more staff. The ambiance was okay, there was no music playing. Just quiet. Overall I'd eat here again, just probably ordering Togo

They have jerk chicken on the menu and, being a huge Caribbean foodie and skeptic, I asked to sample the sauce. It was NOT Caribbean jerk flavor at all. Instead, we opted for the chicken combo platter and the brisket tacos... Brisket. Tacos. Did I mention I am a skeptic? The brisket taco came with brisket and cheese on a soft tortilla. The brisket was decently seasoned and the portions were adequate. It was served with chips and salsa which, on top of being really salty, had competing flavor profiles for me so I didn't eat them. The bang for the buck goes to the chicken combo platter that had two leg quarters +2 sides. The chicken was large, well cooked, smoky and tender. Flavor was not as pronounced as I prefer but it was good. Overall, the experience was good.

The crawfish were flavorful, seasoned well, and priced right, which is honestly the perfect combination when you're sitting down ready to eat. They had that messy, not really spicy, addictive quality that keeps you reaching for "just one more" until the tray is empty. I also tried the buffalo wings. They weren't that great, if I'm being honest, but I was hungry so they got the job done. The crawfish are clearly the star of the show here anyway. The atmosphere felt relaxed and unpretentious, exactly the kind of place you want for seafood with friends, cold drinks, and a table full of shells piling up by the minute. If you're wondering whether I'll be back, I already have.

I guess I was expecting my shrimp would be covered in cajun sauce but it came plane with cajon seasoning and a dipping sauce on the side. We also tried frog legs which was tasty. The service was quick and the lady who served us was very nice, her name is Heron S. We were seated in a room with other ladies and families. It felt like home, people having pleasant conversations We were lucky it was Monday and the shrimp was the special of the day.

Despite their relative popularity, they haven't had a review written about them in close to 3 years. They're most definitely open and the food is as decent as it's ever been. Outside of lunch, the place is hardly busy. It's a small'ish setup, with a good number of tables for quality company. Order at the counter and after a short wait, the food should be ready. Prices are fairly reasonable and the service is on point. Food wise, it's basically the same menu as fellow chain, Rice & Roux (#1). They thrive with the jambalaya and gumbo as their mains, which includes the pasta version of jambalaya aka "pastalaya." I enjoy all of the above, despite the gumbo being a tad bit on the soupier side. When in doubt, shoot for the jambalaya. From sides alone, I give a thumbs up to the potato salad and red beans and rice. While I love me a good mac and cheese, their version is not exactly my favorite. The combinations are a good way to sample a lot without ordering too much. Fingers crossed they'll be sticking around for awhile. They will hopefully continue to stay relevant in BR. ______________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/rice-and-roux-baton-rouge-2

They gave us the selection of a cheeseburger, wings, tacos, shrimp poboy, or chicken salad. Everything looked delicious and the process was really easy. I chose the cheeseburger without the egg. It was perfectly cooked and filling. Topped with lettuce, tomato, purple onion, fresh jalapeno slices, and a homemade, light, bbq type of sauce, it was just the right amount of food. The fries were a nice mix of crispy and less crispy. I didn't think I would be able to finish the burger, but it wasn't as daunting as i thought. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes when I find their food truck out and about.

The workers were very nice and extremely helpful and friendly, they gave us great recommendations to pick from. Street burger- this burger was awesome, containing prime beef, lettuce, chipotle mayo, tomatoes, red onion, fried jalapenos, bacon, american cheese, and street sauce which I can describe as a tangy and sweet sauce similar to bbq sauce but lighter! Oh also the handcut fries were superb too! The burger was juicy with all the right flavors especially the fried jalapenos which have enough bite to make you want more! The street sauce was very unique at the same time I enjoyed and appreciated it on my burger because with the spicy characteristic of the jalapenos the sauce have a complimentary sweetness that didn't overpower the burger! Also the burger comes with a fried egg but I'm not a egg person so I didn't include I in mine but just know it does come with it as a usual option! Wings and waffles- I had forgot to take a picture of this beautiful creation, I had basically ate it without even remembering that I should've taken a picture. The wings were fantastic, I got the lemon pepper which was outstanding and cooked to perfection. The waffles were fluffy and light and gave a good change of flavor from the wings making me want to go back and forth between the two! Overall this event was fantastic, the food truck definitely delivered and I will be making it a regular stopping destination for futures to come!
