He asked the owner his question, and the owner replied, "Can't you read?". My husband said, "Excuse me!". The owner tried to change his tune, but it was too late, and we just walked out. There are so many places to go to for a great fish dinner (The Winfield Grill, Chick'n Out, Bill Gray's, Palmers,...), where you'll not only get great food, but far superior services and get treated with respect. In addition to this owner's terrible attitude, this place has a "Very Fishy Odor", and that's never a good sign when purchasing fish from a "Fish Market". We will never go back to Captain Jim's, and strongly suggest that others do the same.

It was in a plain hotdog bun rather than a toasted brioche bun. I had to add more butter. I think you should try a warm buttered lobster roll from Nolan's on Canandaigua ($25), the restaurant or the snack shack, to know what it should look and taste like. For this price the quality has to improve... I won't be back unless I see pictures that it's better. I was really really really looking forward to having a go-to lobster roll spot.

However, since the start of spring we have been in 3 times, and all 3 times, were turned off with cleanliness issues. The sticky floor and wrong order, was kind of the camels straw. We went last week too, I was looking for specific fresh seafood to make Lobster Newberg with. The Haddock is always fresh, I also asked for scallops, and shrimp. I took the last of their shrimp, and to my surprise when she told someone the shrimp bin was empty, they took a bag out of the freezer, and added it. I was surprised, I thought that was always fresh, and not frozen, not the other way around. I also noticed that the man who handled the scallops was not wearing gloves, and after he went and handled something else. These cross contamination issues, sour soup, and sticky floors, is not usual for them, and my BF and I decided we will look for another place until they clean it up.

Jess and Zach are the bomb diggity; I can't sing their praises enough! I have referred so many people to them and no one is ever disappointed. I look forward to coming here (almost) every week. The team is so friendly, payment options are easy, and, of course, the fish and seafood are all super fresh! Everyone is knowledgeable and even when it's crazy, Jess well spend a couple minutes talking to a customer to give recommendations or answer questions. They always have great energy and good specials (like giveaways and for holidays).
