tl;dr Go here for the awesome products and fantastic customer service, buy fish and seafood, post…read morepictures of what you make. How do these guys have no reviews?! Jess and Zach are the bomb diggity; I can't sing their praises enough! I have referred so many people to them and no one is ever disappointed. I look forward to coming here (almost) every week. The team is so friendly, payment options are easy, and, of course, the fish and seafood are all super fresh! Everyone is knowledgeable and even when it's crazy, Jess well spend a couple minutes talking to a customer to give recommendations or answer questions. They always have great energy and good specials (like giveaways and for holidays). You can even text her to have her put something aside for you so they don't run out before you get there (which happens often!). She knows me and knows my go-to (Atlantic salmon fillets), but she also knows I trust her and love a good deal (which she always has). The last time I went, I was eyeing her new prepared section (a game changer!) and she helped me in taking home three extra pieces than what I had planned to buy, with no regrets! The two pieces of parmesan encrusted salmon was a surprising preparation for me, but for $5 it was a no-brainer, and we quite enjoyed it (see picture)! I told her I wanted something quick for a lunch and she recommended the candy scallops (see picture)- again for $5. And again they were amazing. I had asked her what was her favorite in the case and she said it was the haddock with seafood stuffing. Ooh boy she was right. And because that put me at $15, she threw in an extra container of seafood stuffing! My (vegan) roommates may have hated me due to the lingering fish smell for days, but I'll never stop as long as Jess is my supplier!

My favorite dish was the New England Chowder Style Fish Soup. It was so fresh and flavorful. The cod tasted so good with the potatoes, carrots, onions and parsley. All of our dishes were prepared by a very friendly lady who immigrated from the DR. Everything tasted incredible and we left feeling very satiated. Definitely can't wait to come back! Would recommend making reservations beforehand since there's only space for ~16 ppl.

It was creamy and well portioned even for two of us sharing. We then opted for the littleneck clams, which was served with chorizo. The broth/soup was perfect to dip some house rolls! We then ended with our favorite thing on the menu - the shrimp sliders, well seasoned and served with a side or chips For dessert we had the lovely, rich budino. A cup of coffee on the side hit the spot! What I truly love about this place is the transparency - the cook is right in front of you! You can see them working meticulously to put together our shrimp sliders or the octopus salad if that's your fancy I love how cozy it is yet bright and vibrant. Highly recommend this spot!

The location is on Gibbs Street, right across from the Eastman Theater. It's located in a large building that has part of the Eastman school inside. The foyer/lobby is huge and it over looks a nice park. The restaurant itself isn't that large but a nice cozy space, decorated in gray/white with art prints. Our server was lovely and we were well attended. It gets a bit noisy with the bar but not too bad. The specials were plentiful. We ended up having the clam appetizer which was spectacular. Just a really hearty dish we could share. Clam broth was just divine. My husband had the duck which was cooked perfectly and I had a haddock dinner that was the best fish I've eaten in a long time. It was on top of roasted veg and topped with a relish. Really amazing. Price points were higher for the entries but to be honest, worth every penny.

It's inside a building complex and feels more like a hotel restaurant than a stand alone. Our server was wonderful. The appetizers - bread, Camembert cheese, French onion, beet salad - were delicious. I ordered the special: crab stuffed trout wrapped in bacon and enjoyed it, but, while I was in the restroom my boyfriend overheard a member of the kitchen staff talking about how it is common practice at this restaurant to take the "fish that is getting older" and "wrap it in bacon and stuff it with crab." Absolutely not what I wanted to hear after eating most of my dinner. The complaining by this staff member continued after I returned & just made us eager to leave. It's unfortunate that this happened because the food was pretty enjoyable.

Boss Fights and Bites Review - Pane Vino on the Avenue…read more "Welcome back to Boss Fights and Bites -- where we take on the battles of flavor one bite at a time. Today, we're stepping into Pane Vino on the Avenue, and this one was special because we came here to celebrate my wife's birthday." "Right away, Pane Vino gives you that intimate, date-night kind of feel. The lighting is low, the atmosphere is calm, and it feels like a place where you're meant to sit back, take your time, and enjoy the moment. It's not loud or chaotic -- it's relaxed, comfortable, and welcoming." "The service matched that same energy. The staff was friendly, attentive, and never rushed us. They checked in when needed, made sure everything was good, and let us enjoy the night. When you're celebrating something important like a birthday, that kind of service really matters." "Before the food even came out, they brought the bread to the table -- and honestly, that deserves its own mention." "The bread was warm, fresh, and soft on the inside with a nice crust. Paired with the butter, parmesan, and olive oil, it was one of those appetizers you keep reaching for without realizing it. Simple, but done right -- and that's always a good sign." "Now let's talk about the food -- because that's the main fight." "We ordered the chicken parm, and presentation-wise, it came out looking exactly how you want it to. A generous portion, nicely plated, and you can tell right away this isn't something that was thrown together." "The chicken itself was thick and cooked properly. The breading had a nice crisp to it without being greasy, and the inside was tender and juicy -- not dry at all. That balance is key with chicken parm, and they nailed it." "The sauce was well done. Not too sweet, not too acidic -- it complemented the chicken instead of overpowering it. You could taste everything working together instead of one flavor taking over." "And the cheese? Melted evenly across the top, good coverage, no burnt spots, no rubbery texture. Each bite stayed together and felt intentional, which tells you the kitchen takes pride in what they're putting out." "Overall, the chicken parm was classic, comforting, and executed well. No gimmicks -- just solid Italian food done right." "So here's my verdict: Food quality -- strong. Service -- consistent and professional. Atmosphere -- perfect for a date night or special occasion." **"Now let's put some numbers to it. Food: 8.5 out of 10. Service: 9 out of 10. Atmosphere: 9 out of 10. Overall rating for Pane Vino on the Avenue: 8.8 out of 10."** "That's my take -- now I want to hear from you. Have you been to Pane Vino? What's your go-to Italian dish? I had made our…read morereservation for 5pm (earliest reservation time) and upon arrival we were the only ones there, with the exception of one patron eating and drinking at the bar. We were greeted by the hostess, that I believe was either the owner or part manager of the restaurant. She sat us down and gave us menus (didn't mention the specials) and then proceeded to go and turn on all of the Christmas decorations in the restaurant and tell us about her deals when purchasing all of them. Finally upon her return the waitress took our drink orders and when I asked she gave us the listing of specials for the evening. My niece had a specialty mocktail that was described as having a "hint" of lavender- turns out the other items were done with a hint and all my niece (and I tasted) was the strong presence of lavender. For appetizers we ordered fried calamari that came with the typical red sauce- the fried calamari was good, but nothing special. We also ordered the lamp lollipops for an additional app and let me just say- they were the BEST part about our dinner! Perfectly cooked to medium rare and seasoned and grilled to perfection. It was my neices first time trying them and she said she couldn't wait to have them again. For our main dishes, my niece had the penne vodka- which was "okay" but really lacked on favor, nothing really special about it. I honestly think she makes it better at home. For my entree I had the Salmon- which came with a very thick strawberry sauce over the top of it. My fish was cooked perfectly and tasted great- without the thick "strawberry like" sauce over the top of it (I ended up scraping it off of the fish. I also wasn't a fan of the black rice-it had a very off putting smell and after having my first taste decided one bite was enough.

I'm…read morenot sure if that's accurate, but they are part of my experience with the market, and I love them all. Giordano is one of the best of the bunch, as they have all the cheese you'd ever want...and I want a lot of cheese. I want the funky bleu, the creamy brie, the sharpest cheddar you can find, the chevre, whatever you can find from a sheep, certainly including manchego, and all the olives they have in stock too. I want the cheeses with fun additions like truffles and pepper and meat and I also want the meat that hasn't been added to the cheese, because meat is good on its own too. All that said, the last time I came in I felt like I was bothering the staff there. I got curt, annoyed answers when I was curious about a cheese I wasn't familiar with, and we ended up leaving with about 25% of the amount of cheese I wanted to buy just because it's not fun to put together a cheese plate with people who aren't trying to help you. I hope it was an off day, because I'll be back again soon. After all, I have a cheese problem.

Though it was almost empty on a Thursday morning it was difficult to get to the cheese display because the only two patrons were pretty much sitting in the aisle gabbing with one of the workers. We had to squeeze around them since they weren't moving. Once at the cheese counter the smallish selection of cheeses were unmarked so we needed to quiz the burly guy manning the counter. He was gruff and almost rude in his attitude. Almost unhelpful. It is lucky we bought anything at all. If you wanted your purchase wrapped in cheese paper vs. plastic they charged another $1.75. Really? Definitely not the positive experiences we remembered from the past. Very Disappointing!
