I chose Home Depot because I assumed a major retailer would stand behind the project if something went wrong. Unfortunately, almost everything went wrong. Two treatments fell from the walls, causing damage. Three others had to be replaced, leaving approximately 12 holes/damaged areas that Rockwood promised to repair but never did. One replacement failed within a week, and Rockwood later no-showed for a corrective appointment. After months of failed attempts, I was no longer comfortable allowing Rockwood back into my home. This is when I expected Home Depot to step in. Instead, they essentially sent me back to the same installer. They offered no alternative installer, no repair of the damage, and no way to complete the unfinished project other than Rockwood returning. Their final offer was $500 plus a $250 Home Depot gift card while two replacement treatments were still sitting uninstalled in boxes and my walls remained damaged. I didn't hire Rockwood independently--I bought an $8,600 professionally installed project from Home Depot. I expected Home Depot to stand behind what they sold me. They didn't. I would never purchase an installation project through Home Depot again. UPDATE: And so everyone is clear, the response from Home Depot below is automated. Home Depot made it clear that they were washing their hands of my job and walked away leaving it unfinished and damage to my home unrepaired. Its really unbelievable.
