No call - just texts stating the appointments were cancelled. Did not seem as though there were any attempts to locate the required parts (which were very common parts available on Amazon for next day delivery). Called a competitor. This is more related to their parts sales. I bought a snow blower from them years ago and now need s few maintenance parts. One of the items was a primer bulb. There are a lot of these around and appear to be standard. Shocked when quoted $30 for this bit. In the past I've paid $7.00 for a carb bowl gasket - just a rubber band. These guys have a scam better than drugs. Embarrassed I even deal with them except when really necessary. Pretty mediocre experience. I was disappointed overall. Everyone I worked with, which was 4 different people, seemed to be so miserable and had no desire to be really helpful or answer questions or go above and beyond. I am a younger guy just starting out with my first home and would have loved to have someone tell me how to take good care of my machine, what was included in the maintenance package, fuel to use, things I should think about, etc. Nobody looked over my mower with me to see what it might need or what would be good for it. When I came to pick it up I asked if I could see it first to make sure everything was running well and looked good and they acted like I was asking for their bank numbers. They have a nice facility, but the manager needs to try and create a more positive and customer first mentality among his employees. I felt like a dollar sign the whole time and like nobody actually cared about me or wanted to take the time to make sure I had a great experience and trusted them and wanted to come back. Was told they have my part and will ship it out and they were sending a return label for the incorrect part that I received. 7 days later i received no information on my part so I called back and was told they are looking in their warehouse for the part but its is backordered from John Deere. I have tried to use them for service since originally purchasing my equipment there. They have failed to perform to their promises every single time. Just ridiculous excuses, yes this time the ONE guy they have in the entire company? Is in quarantine because his wife MIGHT have it. But this is not the first - so appointment was for today - their option was to have my tractor for 16 days? No priority for someone that made the appointment for service way in advance? Took My Snowblower in for service. It was running, a little rough. Took it in for a new starter and tune up. The repair was relatively expensive, just under $400. Got it back, started it, used it the first time. It quit twice, started back up, seemed to quit from some kind of gas starve situation. Used it a second time,t ried to start, the new starter they installed completely fell off. The bolts were stripped. I got it started with the hand pull, it quit a few time again. The only way I could keep it running was to keep priming it. I am not sure what kind of tune up it got, ran better before i took it in. I called to see what my options were as far as warranty. They said the labor might be covered depending on what they found. However, it would be at least 6 Weeks before they could do anything. Thanks but no thanks, winter is over in 6 weeks! read more

Being married to a Guy's Guy means that I am taken to places that I have never thought to visit before (U-Haul stores. Bass Outdoor Pro Shops. The {women's} showers at any of Michigan's State Parks). This place would be one of them. While I can't call our visit there to find replacement parts for a Honda HS35 snowblower circa 1983 the highlight of my day, I must say that the folks behind the counter were quite helpful and friendly. I didn't even really mind the smell of engine oil that permeated throughout the store, which normally would have me retching into my scarf and initiating emergency mouth-breathing maneuvers. Should I be in the market someday for a replacement blower, say a Cub Cadet or even a Lawnboy (snicker), I would certainly check this place out first. Should you be, I recommend it. read more

I brought my lawn tractor in to have a pulley replaced. Weingartz replaced the pulley but discovered a defect in the drive belt and ordered a new one. I only learned this when I called for an update on my repair (wish they would have called me instead). Was told it would take 1-2 days to arrive. 3 days later I called (again I wish they would have called me) and was told the belt hadn't arrived but, if I could find one somewhere and bring it in, they'd finish the job. Within one hour I had called Hellebuyck's, drove there, bought the belt and delivered it to Weingartz. Felt like I had to do their job for them!! Only reason I give them 2 stars instead of 1 is they completed the repair same day and the tractor worked fine. Very frustrating experience, however. read more

Upon multiple trips to this location (even after the physical location was changed) the staff remains a group to drastically under deliver. The knowledge of the staff is hard to reach, it being vastly drown out by the inability of the staff to hold their snark comments to them selves. Having years ago gone into the store in search of a 52" Exmark I stumbled across this location and was so appalled about the way I was handled I traveled to another location just to avoid talking with any of the staff and purchase my equipment and be down with them. Upon my trip to the OTHER location I was greeted as an equal and was able to discuss my options, rather than being looked at like an ignorant customer I was merely looked at as an uninformed customer who the time was taken, despite a busy store, to explain all of my options and get me into the right machine. Flash forward to today where I use this Clarkston location for service parts ONLY as a last resort, needless to say the store managed to take care of that and with a recent trip in and the comments of Chris one of the service part guys, of who I was NOT even working with, I have cut all ties with this location. I would rather loose all of the profit from a day with down equipment than to continue to help this location and these individuals limp along as a "Weingartz" the not only give the company and brand a bad name but they are a disgrace to customer service. I would tell you to take your kitchen shears and cut your lawn no matter the size rather than have to deal with this horrendous store, and their poor excuse for employees. read more

I called up the toll free number to order a part for my snowrator machine. The website for snowrator didn't have a part number. I've ordered from Weingartz before. I mistakenly thought they would be able to help me figure this out. Unfortunately, I was met with a very rude girl who informed me "without an exact part number", she wasn't helping me. At all. And to "call back with the number" before hanging up on me. Not a problem - I turned around and ordered it straight from the manufacturer. Last time I'll bother with Weingartz. Beware of Weingartz! My family has had nothing but bad experiences with them. They will not give you an honest trade-in value. They claim to be local, not realizing that local actually is defined as: "Pertaining to a city, town, or small district rather than an entire state or country." Utica, Farmington Hills, Clarkston, Cedar Springs and now Ann Arbor? How many places will they go and still claim to be local? They are the "Walmart" of Lawn and Garden Shops. Walk in their shops. Yes you'll find they are clean and organized. A true tractor dealer will LOOK like a tractor dealer. Want someone who actually knows the equipment from experience and not from a training manual? DON"T go to Weingartz. I will only say it once. Weingartz will not have your needs and wallet in their best interest. Just go and see for yourself. read more

Update Yeah!!! Weingartz comes through. Shortly after yesterdays post Tom left a message to contact him. Unable to do so yesterday due to work/social commitments. Contacted this A.M. Tom had spoken with Cub Cadet. They will provide new transmission and only cost involved will be the labor. This seems very fair to me. Truly believe this was a manufacturer issue from get-go. This resolution is exactly the kind of service I expected from Weingartz and in the end very happy with the outcome. read more

Used to be a fan. 'Til last week. Called for home service on my John Deere -- annual maintenance and a belt repair -- same service we had last year. This year, the told us they weren't offering that, but they'd come to pick up the equipment. When they got here, they told us there was a $60 charge -- not unreasonable, but they hadn't mentioned that on the phone. So they take the equipment in, promise it for Wed., and when we call for a delivery time on Wed., they tell us the part isn't in, is due on Thurs. We call on Thurs., at which time we call and they tell us that the part actually HAD arrived on Wed., but they had not yet gotten to the repair. They promised completion and delivery on Friday or Sat. At 3 pm Sat., they called to set up delivery on Tuesday. When I complained that they'd promised the delivery on Sat. and should at least get delivery on Monday, I was told I was out of luck. But here's the kicker: When the woman called to schedule delivery, she said that there was a balance due. I said that I knew that, and that my wife had told me X. At which point the woman on the phone hesitated and said, "okay." Responding to her hesitation, I said, "Why? Do you have a different number?" She rolled off a set of figures which were actually $30 LESS than my wife had been quoted. IOW, this woman was perfectly content to allow me to make a $30 error in her favor. Bottom line: next year I'll look for alternative service. read more

Very poor knowledge at the service desk. Needed a mower Drive belt for my Simplicity tractor, and after searching for a long time, they came back with a belt. The belt fit, but was NOT MADE AS A DRIVE BELT !. When I put it on, it kept twisting. I ended up at University Lawn, and they state that they gave me the wrong belt. The drive belt is much stiffer so it wont twist. I'll drive the extra distance to University Lawn in Auburn Hills to get service I can count on. read more

I bought a Toro mower from them and started having intermittent problems with it stalling and not being able to restart it for 15-20 minutes. Even though they could not produce it in the shop, they worked on the problem through multiple visits, and eventually called in a Toro rep and replaced half the engine, which did solve the problem. I have used them for snow blower belts and mower maintenance items and have always found them to be very helpful. read more
