However, during checkout a wonderful young girl wished me a good day. Too bad that couldn't have been from the other two employees I needed to deal with earlier. Our landscape firm recommended that we go to Telly's to select a special red maple for an area on…read moreour property that is outside where our landscaper's work. We found a beautiful specimen, bought it and contracted to Telly's to plant it. This was in September of 2025. Now seven months later, the specimen is dead. We took pictures to the store and I spoke to the person who sold me the tree originally. He told me he needed to consult an "expert". I was introduced to another man who looked at my pictures and fairly immediately diagnosed that there was something wrong with our soil and that is what killed the tree. He indicated that their warranty did not cover disease. He showed me the treatment for the soil and explained how to do it. We spent $90 on this treatment. After consulting with our landscaper, there were several things that were suggested, but here's the most important one. The tree dying so quickly would suggest that the disease may have been in the potted plant's soil WHEN it was planted. The landscaper found it unusual that if the disease were newly introduced to the plant from our soil that it would have died so quickly. At any rate, we will never buy another specimen tree like this from Telly's. This experience really felt like a "setup" between the two employees. We had to speak to the guy who knows how to "sell" this whole soil disease excuse. As consumers, we were in no position to argue. We'd suggest that you be very careful buying an expensive specimen from Telly's and risking having your money go up in smoke in just a few months time!

Another time I took part of the faucet I needed some kind of adapter for and explained what I needed to do, and they immediately went to the next room and got just what I needed. (I'm someone with decent mechanical sense, but not that much experience or knowledge.) Wayyyyy better than going to a bigger store and try to figure things out myself. The time and frustration saved is worth any slight increase in cost...but it even seems like the prices are very competitive. Another time they could not get me a part (I had to contact the manufacturer)--but they gave excellent advice, in a patient, knowledgeable way.

Following the recent passing of my mother, I traveled from Illinois to Michigan to prepare her home for sale. As part of that process, I purchased paint for the project and simply overestimated what I needed. I attempted to return one unopened gallon of unused paint that was just 5 days beyond the 30-day return window. The cashier suggested I speak with the Paint Department supervisor (Sean, I believe), who immediately and professionally said he would take care of it. Unfortunately, once the Store Manager got involved, the entire tone changed. Rather than demonstrating discretion, empathy, or customer-focused judgment, the manager rigidly hid behind policy, citing that the paint was tinted, purchased at another Lowe's location, and slightly beyond the return window. What was most disappointing wasn't the denial itself--it was the complete lack of thoughtful consideration for the circumstances. As a longtime customer, I understand policies matter. But great customer service also requires leadership, judgment, and occasional flexibility. The Paint Department supervisor represented Lowe's well. The Store Manager did not.

My husband and I ordered two doors from this store. One door was delivered and one was not due to…read moredamage. This was in November 2025. After numerous visits to the store, calls and even contacting corporate we finally got our door delivered January 2026. No customer should have to go through what we did. It was a simple order but due to mishandling and incorrect information provided it cost us time and money( canceling trades/ change order fees etc. ) our addition is over a month behind due to the domino effect of the doors not being reordered in a timely manner.( When ordering the doors initially we gave a two week buffer past delivery date and that wasn't enough time to solve this)The customer service was awful and corporate was worse. Since then we have gone elsewhere for our construction needs and have had no problems with Lowe's competitors.
