I ordered online a few days ahead for a morning pickup. The process of online ordering was plain and simple to complete. I picked up my goodies at the desired time and started delivering. I ordered 4 brownie loaves and they had them wrapped in cellophane and a little ribbon!! Definitely gift worthy. I also ordered a breakfast sampler box for my doctors office. Did the cinnamon extreme bread that used to be called The cinnamon burst extreme bread used to have cinnamon chips? I'm not sure if it's the luck of the draw, but the last three cinnamon extreme bread that I've gotten have been underwhelming. At least a third of the bread being, a tough, overworked chunk of bread with no cinnamon at all. It's such a shame because I used to love this bread and bring it to parties as a hostess gift. IF you are trying not to eat carbs this is NOT the place for you! When you walk in, the fragrance of the freshly baked bread hits you immediately! I mean literally. They have samples if you get there in time. I had had the cinnamon burst, the cinnamon raisin (I think), the apple my god!!!! The apple is the best I have had. I went here for an early lunch and the staff member who took my order was friendly and helpful. I can't say the same about the rest. I ordered a panini and it was mediocre at best and the focaccia bread was extremely dry. I was hoping the peanut butter cookie I ordered would help make things better, but sadly it was drier than the bread. Hopefully I just picked an old cooking and the rest of them were ok. Mmm.... I had their cappuccino which is properly executed and balanced. I am very picky about cappuccino. I've also sampled their bakery items and they dont skimp on the sample. You can get full on their samples! The beer gouda bread is exactly as it tastes. Get it if you enjoy that combo. Also the cinnamon scone is so delicious. Great Harvest of Acadiana on Kaliste Saloom I had always had samples of different amazing breads and grains that people have shared with us over the years but had never set foot in the actual location here in Lafayette, LA. From the moment you walk into this wonderful little bakery/cafe your senses have you looking and smelling the most amazing scents that fill the entire place. I was met as soon as I walked in and this lovely lady went over the menu and I decided on an amazing BLT sandwich on their tasty, toasted bread, and then while waiting I just had to sample a couple of other things. Every single thing I put in my mouth was full of flavor and all complemented each other PERFECTLY!!! This is by far one of the best little cafe/ bakery's that Lafayette has to offer!! Every single staff member always had a smile and was willing to help out in any way they could. LOVE. I try to stay away from bread. I know it's not the healthiest thing, but by joe it is delicious. Especially here. My kids love it because you can have a sample as soon as you walk in, of just about anything. I don't eat pumpkin but they RAVE over the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. For my money, and I mean all of my money, my go to is the cheddar jalapeno loaf. I buy a loaf almost every time I go because I just have to have more later. I've been to this location a few times and my job ordered lunch from the one in Lake Charles. I've gotten many different items and I've never been disappointed. This location offers samples and every time I've sampled something I've bought the item. I tried the cinnamon bread & scone and they were amazing. The scone isn't dried and hard like most scones I've tried at other places. Then they had a pineapple and blackberry oat bar- oh man it's heavenly. I've had their sandwiches also- a breakfast one which was good and then one time for lunch I had a southwest turkey sandwich-delicious! Other items worth mentioning- morning glory muffin, strawberry peach oat bar and their fresh loaves. They sell jams, spreads and other dips for their savory items as well. I've been to this place twice now in the last year, and neither time I was able to get any bread. The first time was like 2pm and they were sold out of bread. Really? The second time they had about twenty loaves sitting there but the girl said that they were too hot to cut. So let me get this straight. You have the word 'bread' in your name and even after two visits I was unable to get any? I could have gone to Panera and there would have been fifteen or more choices... bread, bagels, rolls, etc. Great Harvest needs to get their sh&t together. /major fail. read more

I was in Lafayette today for an errand and when I mentioned getting lunch before I drove back to Baton Rouge, someone suggested Great Harvest. It was right across the street from where we were, and she said they had the best chicken salad sandwich she'd ever had. So I gave it a shot, and I am GLAD I did. The chicken salad definitely ranks up there with some of the best I've had, and I LOVE all the locally sourced options! Zapps potato chips, Swamp Pop cola... And the idea that they are a certified Green restaurant, and the first of it's kind in Louisiana, was impressive. The bread was excellent, the service was good, the food was delicious. I only wish I'd been more prepared... I could have bought one of everything to take home! I think this is going to be a regular stop for me when I'm in Lafayette from now on. read more

My son, wife, and I stopped in for our first meal here. We had lunch. I had their daily special a salad with a lot of mixed nuts and fruits. Very healthy and very tasty. My wife and son had sandwiches. Both enjoyed them greatly. My cookie - choc chip was excellent. With some extra treats for the road we will definitely come back. Better than panera. So my husband suggested this place for lunch (as craving for a nice sandwich). The chicken salad sandwich was .. SO good! I was so impressed with the quality and staff I went again before Christmas and bought 2 loaves of bread( a soft braided loaf, and a desert bread called brownie bread) I was most impressed with the brownie bread. It had the consistency and texture of a banana bread, but it tasted like a chocolate brownie. mmmm. at nearly 15 bucks for 2 loaves of bread ( though the quality makes it worth it) I'm not sure I'll make an every day stop in but Ill definitely be a repeat customer from time to time. read more

Stopped in here for breakfast on a work trip and it was absolutely wonderful. I got the chive egg biscuit (recommended by the guy working there) which comes with an amazing bacon jam. It was approximately 5:38pm when I walked in ...so I had plenty of time right, because they stay open until 6pm right??? Nope! Wrong! They stop making sandwiches at 5:30! Wait what? Why? The sign says you close at 6pm. Which is it? Female employee: "Well we just stop making sandwiches early so that we can start cleaning up". What?!! OMG! Then Say You Close At 5:30 then!! I just drove 20 mins OUT of my way in order to stop by because I had plenty of time before you closed at 6pm but I just wasted my time. Frustrating.
