    biscotti cheesecake FTW!

Yall! This place is amazing! I WISH we had a local cheesecake bakery in NOLA. And the owner/pastry chef is the most genuinely sweet - pun intended - person I have met. I came here during Mardi Gras season; I have been following them online for a year now and wanted to try their coffee flights as well as their cheesecake. Well, they had a Mardi gras coffee flight. First of all, the presentation is fabulous! Everything in the glass case and the whole bakery is just clean and beautiful. The desserts almost look fake, they look so perfect. So back to the coffee flight. There was Mardi Gras, Zulu, Moon Pie, and Amaretto Walnut. I loved all the flavors except the Amaretto - that was the only one that tasted - best way to explain it - chemically. He asked me how I liked it and I was honest, and he said others have almost mentioned that was their least favorite. But the others were so fresh and so good; it was honestly one of the best coffees I have ever had and I know it was due to the fresh ingredients. And he basically said something that still sticks with me, he said something along the lines of, coffee shops generally try to make coffee taste good with artificial flavoring, while a bakery has those fresh ingredients that make the coffee taste fresh and real... it's like coffee shops should be a bakery first, then a coffee shop second if you are looking for rich, fresh flavors. I also ordered a cheesecake to go. I mean of course! it's a cheesecake shop! So, I got the biscotti and OOOOMMMMGGG! It is such an incredible cheesecake with perfect texture and creaminess. I loved this, once again such rich flavors, and not artificial. Don't change a thing! And stay adorably sweet. I can't wait to take a road trip out there again and get more yum yums!

It was about 15 minutes off the highway on our trip back from New Orleans to Texas on a Friday, and hubby rarely lets me down when I propose a foodie detour -- so he was game! Thank goodness I didn't read the reviews too closely beforehand because apparently they can sell out early. We rolled in around 11:30 am, and while there was a short line, it moved quickly -- and they still had EVERY flavor available. Score! We opted for a box of four ($3.50 for a standard flavor, $3.75 for a seasonal one) -- honestly, way cheaper (and better) than that sad Crumbl franchise. We went with the s'mores (the gal in front of us said she came in just for that one), a mint Oreo, a butter cookie, and a chocolate one with cheesecake inside. It's now one day later, and there's only one left -- that's how good they are! The texture is that perfect slightly under-baked middle, which, in my humble opinion, is the superior way to bake a cookie. Of the three I've tried so far, the mint Oreo has been my favorite -- rich, chewy, and perfectly balanced between chocolate and mint. The s'mores was also fantastic -- melty and gooey in all the right ways. On to the owner's story -- which is seriously inspiring. Caroline started baking cookies at 21 during Covid, selling them to friends and family. She quickly realized she had a business on her hands. With the help of her dad -- who's also a business owner -- she launched this company, and now she's absolutely killing it with three Louisiana locations, a growing team of employees, and a reputation for selling out almost daily. What she's built takes guts, and it's clear she's not just surviving -- she's thriving. But what I love most is that she didn't settle for a boring, cookie-cutter (pun intended) storefront. Nope -- the place is FUN. The doors and walls are painted with playful cookie designs, and the vibe is super inviting. You can tell Caroline put real thought into making the space feel special. Even the merch is next level -- embroidered sweatshirts that are super high quality. Yeah, they're $50, but honestly, they feel like the kind of sweatshirt you'd live in all winter. I came this close to buying one for MY sister Caroline -- but alas, budget constraints got the best of me (for now). And the marketing? Genius. She's got that cool, low-key social media strategy that makes you feel like you stumbled upon a secret -- even though the line out the door proves otherwise. It's not just the cookies that make you want to keep coming back -- it's the whole experience. Caroline's story, her energy, the atmosphere -- it all makes you want to root for her and support the business. I'm already thinking about my next road trip just to swing by again (and maybe justify that sweatshirt purchase).

Such an adorable store filled with delicious cookies. I got a box full of various flavors of cookies. From peanut butter and chocolate to animal cracker to red velvet, there was a flavor for everyone. The cookies are a decent size, not as big as Crumbl but bigger than a regular cookie, and most are stuffed with something. I found the cookies to be moist and full of flavor. I really liked on the box it tells you how to store them if you don't eat all of them right away. For a full box of cookies, 6 of them, it was $22.. each cookie being $3.50. The staff was so amazing and patient with everyone. I was so glad I was able to come and experience this amazing cookie spot!

Fresh. They will even grab you a fresh baked one out the back upon request. I stumbled on this hidden gem one day after a my last craving for a waffle cone was unfulfilled at a franchise frozen yogurt spot. I won't name any names, but I hadn't been to the unnamed commercial spot in over 20 years. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. The waffle cone was stale and had a tinge of plastic taste. I literally thought I'd been poisoned. After looking up ice cream spots with good reviews, my daughter and I found Emmy's. It was not a disappointment at all. The ice cream flavors were limited but very premium. Although they don't make their own ice cream in-house, they get it from the best place I can think of ordering ice cream from - Wisconsin. They have a ton of really premium toppings for a great price too. Most are just $.50, with some of the nut toppings costing a dollar. My daughter tried their orange sorbet with gummy bears and the swear, they were the best gummy bears I've ever tried. I went straight for my go-to, pistachio almond. When I tell you it's stood up to some of the best Italian creamery pistachio I've had in my home town of New Orleans, I'm not exaggerating. Creamy, rich ice cream with an abundance of pistachio. All I needed was one scoop. So amazing and flavorful. Being skeptical after my last botched experience getting a waffle cone at a major franchise dessert spot, I decided to get my ice cream in their signature waffle cone. Oh. My. Goodness. It's like a confection by itself. Delicately buttery, perfectly sweet and super crispy. I hear they even make waffle cone nachos?! Aside from having great dessert, the staff is friendly and they have a nice little sitting area, complete with a soda-shop type bar to sit. It's not a question of if I'll be back, but if I'll be able to pass it up when I'm in the vicinity. Delicious!

I loved how close to the interstate the one in Scott, LA is, and my husband loved all the novelty/giant candies, such as the 26 lbs. gummy bear and the giant gummy worm. Our 9 year old daughter's favorite was the ice cream bar, and my 6 year old daughter's favorite was all the jelly beans! I was also drooling over all the homemade fudge and truffles! I had seen pics of the store and knew we would go someday, but it's so much better in person!! We went in early January and got to see the precious setup they had for Santa, so next year, we'll have to come when Santa is in!! We rode the train outside ($3/child) and was told that Santa rode the train into the building! So cute! Something about a candy store that brings joy to your heart and innocence from childhood. Practical observations, the place was super clean and spread out so didn't feel crowded like some candy stores do. I even "checked out" the bathrooms and was impressed at their cleanliness too. Customer service was great as well. We cannot wait to return and hope this will be a family tradition for us for many years!!
