    Chicken salad sandwich
    Ericka G.

I mosied in here hoping to get a Powerhouse. I opted against it because it didn't have sprouts, so I ordered the chicken salad instead. Upon entry, I scanned the space--soup mixes, muffins, cookies, scones, biscuits, loaves of bread. Everything looked fresh, beautiful, and temptingly homemade. A "New Management" sign caught my eye, so I asked the cashier if he was the new owner. He smiled, shook his head, and pointed toward a young man with tattoos--Seth--busy packaging loaves at a prep table. Seth smiled and waved. The cashier went off to make my sandwich. When Seth finished his task, he came over to chat. I learned he's the baker, that all their food is halal, and we bonded over talk of the Powerhouse sandwich and soup selections. He mentioned that the cashier (whose name I forgot to get) is the sandwich master and makes the chicken salad himself. Seth grinned and said, "So if you have a problem with the sandwich, it's his fault." I laughed. I grabbed my order--plus a few dried soups--and headed to the car. Starved, I took one bite before pulling off. I'm glad I did. I immediately set the sandwich on the seat, jumped out, and ran back inside. From the door I yelled, "Errmaaagawd--it's sooo good!" The chicken salad was perfectly seasoned, all white meat yet still moist, with just a little kick. The sandwich itself had crisp lettuce, tomato, and a bit of red onion, all nestled between hearty multigrain bread studded with sunflower seeds. I'm so happy I came here for lunch. I needed something that tasted like a real farmhouse sandwich--not some commercial concoction. Oh--and ladies, in case you missed it... this place has a cutie on duty who bakes bread and another who makes the sandwiches. Are they married? I don't know. But eye candy is free, and honestly--what's more satisfying than a meal made by the hands of two very handsome men? Brag-worthy, I'd say so.

    Hot Pastrami on Rye (4.11.24)
    Carroll N.

4.11.24 I had a bogo offer on sandwiches and $2 off any purchase that came in the mail so my hubby and I stopped in for an early dinner. They close at 6pm. He ordered the hot pastrami and I ordered the chicken salad on focaccia and a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin to go. My chicken salad was good, but the focaccia was too big for the sandwich. I removed the top slice of bread which made the ratio more proportionate. The bread didn't taste fresh and didn't have much flavor. Perhaps it wasn't the right selection for my chicken salad. My hubby liked his sandwich, but removed some of the sauerkraut as there was a lot. The muffin was good, but on the smaller side. The bakery is small and isn't meant for dine in. There are a few chairs, three counter seats by the unisex restroom, a small table for two, and a few patio tables. The unisex restroom has a barn sliding door which makes it feel homely. Aside from bread, sandwiches, pastries, and beverages, they sell prepackaged goods such as granola, oatmeal, honey, and jam.

And in conclusion....... The bread and other products are very good, but the sandwiches have gone downhill IMO. Ordered the Powerhouse assuming it was a regular Powerhouse but it was actually just onion, Romain, cucumber and tomato. That's not really my issue though. My issue is that both sandwiches used Romain and tomatoes that I'd put in compost. As you can see the tomatoes are almost white and completely flavorless. The Romain is all of the bitter yellow parts that no one wants to eat. They are only good covered in Caesar dressing. I don't think I'll order sandwiches again. For $9.75 I'd rather just buy a loaf and make 4 or 5 sandwiches. Again, it's not about value, but about using just bad ingredients.

Workers were there, but I think the orientation of the counter is such that someone working at the grill can't see people walking in. There's no sound (ringing bell, buzzer, whatever) and they couldn't see us come in. Whatever - it didn't make us feel particularly welcome. I notice a couple of other reviews mention the same thing. Seems like an easy fix. Anyway, we ordered a Philly Mushroom with old bay chips/drink and a Chicken Club with sweet potato chips/drink. We were given a table flag and we sat outside. Food came a few minutes later. Looked and tasted very good. The bread on the Club was nicely toasted, the aeoli was tasty and not too heavy and the chicken (decent portion) was pretty moist. My partner enjoyed the Philly Mushroom. Unfortunately, my partner received regular chips instead of Old Bay they requested. They don't like to complain, so they basically left them uneaten. I liked the sweet potato chips - really crisp with a good flavor. Nice size pickle wedge came with each sandwich. Very pleasant seating area outside. Fountain soda available with free refills.

"My daughter, S A M," Shaw signs back, "playing guitar," as he makes hand motions. "Being able to hear that." "You don't need to. Every spring, I go to the Boston Pops." "Why?" Frank asks disconsolately. "To watch...the feeling...the musicians...to see their joy. It's enough. To see that, to share it." Watching Ava recapture physically not just the performance in her retelling but the appreciation from both musicians and concert-goers alike, Frank starts to rediscover hope, even as he and Ava try to stay alive from the killers hunting them. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts from Eataliano Market & Deli, located at 5325 Phelps Luck Drive in Columbia, Maryland, prompt similarly unexpected overflows of culinary memories and joy. Upon our first visit of what we hope will be many, my wife and I placed the following takeout order: 1 order of Baked Meatballs 2 orders of Garlic Bread 1 ten-inch Empire Pie (I requested no ricotta or extra virgin olive oil) 1 order of Rigatoni Meatballs alla Vodka 1 order of Spaghetti with Homemade Meat Sauce 1 slice of Limoncello Mascarpone Cake 1 slice of Pistachio Cheesecake The garlic bread and pistachio cheesecake alone conjured spectacular reminisces. The pizza is the best we've had in Maryland, although my wife regretted my choice of no ricotta; and we would gladly reorder our pasta dishes if we didn't have many more entrees that we want to try.

HIDDEN GEM!!!! I…read morestumbled across this place while visiting Columbia, MD. I was craving a good cheesesteak, so I did what any responsible foodie would do--I consulted Google. This place kept popping up, so I figured the internet couldn't be wrong... at least not this time. The restaurant is tucked away in what feels like a residential area, making it a true hidden gem. The parking situation, however, deserves its own reality show. Spaces are limited, and getting in and out of the parking lot felt like I was participating in an advanced driving course. The establishment offers nice seating, but don't expect a formal dining experience. You place your order at the counter and then find your own seat. When we arrived, the place was packed with people ordering and eating. That's usually a good sign, and at that point I knew we had either found the jackpot or everyone in Columbia had the exact same cheesesteak craving. Because of the crowd, ordering took a little while. The dining area was also in need of some attention--we ended up cleaning our own table before sitting down. The food took longer than expected to arrive, but as soon as I took the first bite, all was forgiven. We ordered two cheesesteaks and a personal pepperoni pizza. The cheesesteaks were absolutely loaded with perfectly grilled meat, topped with grilled onions and peppers, all served on a warm, soft hoagie roll. Every bite was packed with flavor and required at least a few extra napkins. The personal pepperoni pizza was also excellent. I'd describe it as a traditional thin-crust pizza with the perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. No ingredient was trying to steal the spotlight--it was a well-rehearsed pizza ensemble. As I said from the beginning, this place is a hidden gem. The food alone is worth the trip. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 is because of the challenging parking situation and the dining area's cleanliness and service. Fix those two issues, and this place might just become my new definition of a cheesesteak pilgrimage destination

It's been about 3-4 months. Unfortunately it's about as bad as before. #1 reason for one-star review is that I did not receive the sandwich that I ordered. I didn't discover it was wrong until I got home and I didn't feel like driving back over to see if they would make it right. I used the Jersey Mike app to order a Turkey and Provolone sub on a white sub roll. What I received was either a chicken salad or a tuna salad on rosemary parm bread (not sure as I threw it out). I verified on the receipt that I ordered correctly. My order was ready on time this visit, but as with the previous visit, they were very busy and the staff seemed to be flailing around in a rush, and a lot of exasperated customers pissed off at the wait time. Also - no iced tea available... the tea dispensers completely empty. Not sure why this location of Jersey Mike's is so bad. Maybe need a change in management, but either way, I will not give them a third try. Plenty of other places for a quick lunch in the area. If you do order here, check what they put in your bag is correct BEFORE you leave. Not recommended / avoid this location.
