This week I snagged some guara, hummingbird bush, and a gorgeous pink trumpet vine that's actually not toxic to pets (as most trumpet vines are). The staff all seem very knowledgeable and are really helpful. There are two older gentlemen that walk around and are always especially kind and helpful. There are some chickens clucking about and if you go in the indoor plant area you can meet parrots Jack and Diane who are happy to have a chat with you. There's also a huge selection of pottery.

I didn't think I'd find one in Arizona, but lo and behold... SummerWinds Nursery had it! The tree was healthy, vibrant, and honestly felt like a little miracle. In Filipino culture, calamansi is considered lucky. People plant it to attract abundance, place coins and grains at the base for prosperity, and use its juice in cleansing rituals. My mom was over the moon when I bought her one. The staff at SummerWinds were super helpful and genuinely kind. You can tell they care about their plants and their customers. The nursery itself is beautiful--peaceful, well-organized, and full of unique finds. Prices were reasonable. You can also get rewards here if you return again. Great value! We have been going to Whitfill for over 20 years now! Not only do we go to them during the holidays but rely on them throughout the year when we need additional plants and trees for our backyard. We first started using Whitfill back in the early 2000's when they were on 40th street south of Roeser. We literally lived across the street from their nursery and when they moved to their current spot on Southern we followed! We have decades of photos with our boys standing next to the tree they choose for Christmas and the tradition continues now with our Sphynx cats! They used to have a peacock walking around but unfortunately he is no longer there. They are pet friendly and we are comfortable taking our cats there in the stroller. Not only are their prices and tree selections the best in town but their customer service and knowledge of anything tree related is vast! They know what they are doing and don't try to upsell or get you to buy unnecessary items. They are the real deal!

They took the time to answer questions and tell us about all the upcoming events thy have planned, the bonsai class caught our eye. Which also got us excited to follow along & see what they also offer in the future. Their plant selection was impressive, with so many different varieties to choose from, and I loved that they also carried a wide range of unique planters so you can create the perfect setup all in one stop. They have a sign to inform the customers they don't offer warranty on the plants once they leave the premise unless they plant it for you. I liked that most of the plants had prices. The small succulent 6-pack sections did not have pricing but I was able to check-in with the front and ask for the pricing. They also helped me find the price of a statue. All the plants appear to be healthy and they look beautiful. Since some of the other Yelp reviews wrote about plants not surviving or being diseased I would start with a smaller plant and see how it does.
