I live nearby and thought i would try to find someone close for a quick mens haircut vs driving to portland and utilizing my normal hair stylist (charges 15 for a professional precise haircut with shampoo and styling). I called this location and was told they price match competitors and take competitors coupons. I continued to call a few other local hair salons and eventually decided to utilize Great Clips for my hair cut due to being closer to my residence. Prior to coming in for my cut, i called back and spoke with Amber and was told "yes we will match the 8 dollar hair cut from a local competitor". Based off of this i came in for my cut. Michelle did a good job on my hair or so I thought so. When I arrived home, I took a shower to wash the "cut hair" off of myself (all over my ears, neck, below my side burns etc) and then discovered a few spots where she missed some hair that should have been cut. How ridiculous! . However, the exciting part came when I had to pay. i was denied the price match by Amber. They asked if i had a coupon and i told them "no i do not, you (Amber) stated over the phone that you will price match your competitor". The competitors price was the normal price for a haircut and not a coupon price. Amber said well then their was a mis-communication...thats when i interjected that no, she heard me correct and i heard her correct. This left me a bit frustrated to say the least considering the lack of ethics and honoring your policy and or what you stated verbally (even if you screwed up and stated something incorrectly good business practice means to honor your word. Otherwise you have no word and no worth when it comes to business and what you provide). Had i known this would have occurred i would have taken my chances and went elsewhere for a 8 dollar hair cut vs a dishonest employee who lacks ethics, proper business etiquette, and professionalism.
NOTE: This store isn't as clean as tidy as it should be. The station i was getting my hair cut at was disorganized, not clean (hair on counter and hair cutting tools), the chair spun around to easily so when the hair stylist would cut my hair i was turning easily which is a concern when someone is attempting to be precise on your hair, the mirror i was given to look at the back of my head with was covered with hair from who knows who......
VERDICT: Do not come here! Lack of ethics (Amber is a liar, lack of professionalism by the other employees, lack of friendliness and being able to hold a normal conversation with your clients, store cleanliness etc ...and the hygiene or lack of is a concern). There are to many competitors nearby for cheaper who are worth trying (if you are shopping blindly for someone to cut your hair) and or just go somewhere else for a $15 mens hair cut that doesn't include a shampoo and or proper styling post hair cut (Michelle asked me if I wanted gel in my hair and I told her what I normally style my hair with. She then offered me an alternative because its what "they sold most of". She literally "globbed" it onto my head and didn't do to much afterwards. This is the first time I ended up styling my hair vs the stylist styling it for me). read more
