I went to the shop on Swan in Tucson. I told Val, the person who cut my hair that I wanted my hair cut 1" long all over. I had long hair when I came in (below my shoulder blades). I also told her I wanted all of the neck hair (that ultra fine stuff that irritates my neck) removed totally. She showed me the cut (but not the bottom of the back) and it looked pretty good. I got home and shampooed my hair and measured it. It was all 2". Obviously, the expressed cut I wanted wasn't what I got. There is a difference between 1" and 2" no matter what some people are told. I won't be back. I have gone to another salon where they do what I ask them to do. read more

I am giving a much needed update of new business procedures during the covid-19 pandemic. They will still come to the door and greet you! However, you are not free to just walk in. Please be patient as they are trying to adjust and have been swamped! Be prepared to bring a face mask as they are required for service. No, you will not remove it for your hair cut. I was extremely impressed by the skill and talent they have being able to simply work around it. They encourage checking in online prior to coming in. Though the wait times are approximate and not exact they are extremely accurate. So make sure to go in a little before what it says so they don't take someone in before you. Be prepared to wait outside or in your vehicle as their lobby is currently closed. I The reason being that it can get very crowded since they accept walk ins and they are only accepting 10 people in at a time, including the stylists. Upon arrival you will be greeted by someone in a mask most likely with a tablet in his/her hand ready to check you in(walk-in) or update(check-in online) you on the wait time. Again, be patient as they are also trying to adjust with these new mandates safety procedures. They are sanitizing their work areas in between customers(you smell the clean when you walk in) to be sure to keep you safe so it's worth the extra 5-8 minutes after they finish their client. Do tip them if you can, they've been out of work and really do their best to please their customers!! I take my sons here to Eric and he does great with them. They always leave in a good mood. Eric also cuts my husband's hair (military) and does a great job. He has 11+ years of experience and has come from a barber background so do not underestimate his skill set!! The girls that are here are also just as great. They work quickly and efficiently! Just a heads up! They are not offering a couple of services and their hours have changed so be sure to peep the pics I snapped today with the updates! If you're looking for a safe and clean spot to get a quick haircut this is the place! They are also next to a bank, restaurants and a Wal-Mart so if you need to get some shopping in, grab a bite, pull out some cash for a tip they are all literally across the street or in the same plaza!! decided to get a trim while I was on this side of town. Not my usual Great Clios, but the lady who cut my hair did a good job. I am pleased with the ease and communication between all locations, so you don't have to go through EVERYTHING each time. My hair style has changed a bit, but they at least have a starting point. I don't know why I've gone there more than 3 times when each time they give me a cut I don't want/didn't ask for/and was butt ugly. I keep saying "I want spikes/bed head/etc." Each time I walk out with hair helmet. I'd fit right in with the lady's of the 50s'.. I think they see and older women and close their ears to her instructions, instead giving her an old women's hair style. This was the last straw. I gave DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS got how I want the back of the neck detailed into a V. Each time I get a straight across... from the back I look like a man. You won't get what you want. You won't get want you told them to do. You will leave with bad feelings. Good luck. read more

When I viewed her cutting off more hair than the pic we had both discussed I felt I could not stop the damage and would have to live with it until it grew out again. read more

Second time I've ever been here, first was last year for myself when I decided to do the big chop and got a completely boched, uneven cut that I had to get fixed elsewhere. Never seen issues with men's cuts though so I took my fiance to finally get his hair cleaned up after growing it out recently and when I explained the style he let me pick out they stared at me and said very rudely "we're not a barber, no" as if a mens undercut is the most complicated thing ever. Wouldn't have had such an issue if the ladies weren't bitchy and quick to decline the simplest cut that millions of men have. DO NOT go to Great Clips if you care about your hair at all! read more

I went in to this location with my cousin on 5/25/19 to get a long a-line cut and expressed to the hairdresser working with me (Lauren) that I wanted to keep my length in the front of my head. What I walked out with had me in tears... I walked out with a very uneven bob cut (that I didnt want) and the left side is choppy and uneven with the right side of my face. I've never had a problem with this location before, and now I'm afraid of going outside with my hair. I can't really pull my hair back in a hair tie, because the uneven section won't even reach the hair tie. So dissatisfied with that stylist and the fact that she didn't even listen to what I asked to have done & continued on without really showing me how she was doing it. I normally get a decent haircut at this location, but the last one was the worst haircut of my life. I'm a male with short hair that prefers a scissor cut. I go in every four weeks for a basic trim. On this last visit I was called by Olga. I informed her that I prefer the top portion longer then the sides. She totally ignored what I asked for and then proceeded to cut my hair as if she was in a race even thought the place wasn't busy at the time. She poked me twice on the side of my head with the scissors and she wasn't interested in making conversation. I remember thinking, slow down, slow down, but it was as if she were on speed or something. My hair is so short now, I think I can go eight weeks before my next cut. You always know when you receive a bad haircut when it's confirmed by your co-workers crude comments the next day. Keep your distance from Olga! read more

Nothing good here - bogus online check-in wait times, and DON'T sign up as a group! When you arrive, they insist on entering each person individually, which then tossed me to the bottom of the check-in list. Amazing, too - the lady who checked us in proceeded to go back to her chair and sit, watching us wait, playing on her phone... Husband finally got called after 10-15 min (online check in said 1 min wait); that lady was still sitting, messing with her phone! Just as another stylist finished, I thought 'finally, yay! but NO, because the other fella who had checked in on-line (after us, but before they split me from hubbie's check-in)...in he walked, and they called him back! Well, husband finished, and I said we're out of here! NEVER going back there, even though it's closest to home. Might not ever go back to Great Clips at all, who knows!! Today I saw Ashley, and wow did she do a great job. Not only did she actually listen to what I wanted, she gave suggestions which overall gave me a great cut. Alright, the minute I walked in I should have walked out. I walked in while all the barber's were busy, no big deal. So I was looking at the products that they sell when one barber noticed me and came to check me in. She asked me if I had checked in online, I didn't hear her at first and I asked "I'm sorry, what?" Then she told me with a pause at every word "Did. You. Check. In. Online." I told her no, I then checked in normally with no issues, yet when i got into the chair to get my hair cut, I told the barber what I wanted and that I have a hard part within my hair for a gentleman's cut. She looked at me and said yes, I know. She took it upon herself to change where I normally get the hard part to wherever she pleased about an inch away from where someone can see normally where the hard part is, then desided that she didnt like when I told her about my fadding, because she took a 1 all the way to the top and left my left side looking the way it should and my right looks like I am right out of boot camp! Now I have to wait to let my hair grow in order to fix a ridiculous hair cut that could have been so easily avoided. read more

Just been there today. Rang up and asked for a certain hairdresser and was told yes she is working but couldn't book her direct I had to book in online. when I got there the hairdresser was busy and I asked for her and wasn't told anything but just sat down. when the hairdresser had finished instead of me being next another guy went and all she said was he was before you but I was in the shop before him. I don't mind if he had came in and then left to come back later but why wasn't I told when I asked for Hairdresser that she has another person before me and it would be around 30 mins. when I asked her how long all she said was I don't know, no one else was bothered so I left. Totally unprofessional and I will never be going back here. with all the hairdressers in Tucson and competition I get treated like this. I took time out of my day and for this. there app should let you book your hairdresser not just an appointment as the person I wanted wasn't free. Complete waste of time, I would avoid this place. read more
