I am almost 80 years old, so I've had my share of bad haircuts. But I've always been pretty chill about that because I know that within a week or two, my hair will have grown out enough that I don't have to feel bad about having been given a bad haircut. The haircut that I received at Super Cut's salon on Campbell Road is in a league of its own. Even though I told the beautician what I wanted and showed her a picture of how my hair looks when I am satisfied with it, she proceeded to give me the worst haircut of my life. First, too all the people who gave a one star review because they don't keep appointments, that is because NONE of the Supercuts even have appointments. I am so annoyed whenever I take my son to get a haircut and people put in a "reservation" for a time (which only saves you a place in line) and then they come in and demand their appointment. Don't listen to these reviews (Luanne L.). I have been taking my son to Yaya for two years now and she is awesome. I finally went myself and had one of the best haircuts ever. If you think you can grasp the "reservation" system (that they have no control of because it is a Supercuts system) then you should for sure give this place a try. I have also witnessed how patient and polite they are to all the privileged that walk in demanding to be seen. I would lose my temper at all the rude people I see in that Supercuts but they are so friendly and patient. I can't believe I was paying so much for fancy hair salons. read more

First cut was excellent, conservative, kept me with plan I was in with hair. Second trip was a toner after abandoning the 'going grey' and I bought mousse and flatiron spray. 3rd trip was to return or at least to find out how to get contents OUT of Paul Mitchell containers from product purchase. I didnt want to break container and then be told it couldn't be returned as it felt like a place where they were franchised and perhaps might be held responsible for any returned product. this is when you feel the difference in salons and one has to evaluate if this matters. It does to me, I don't think I've really ever been in a Salon where people were there with kids AND annoyed, we used to be the ones treading lightly! stylist cutting child's hair addressed me right when I came in and wanted to know if I'd called ahead for appt. Hearing it was product, she then had me over to her station to check the cans. I would normally not interrupt anyone's haircut, child or otherwise. But, mom had two kids there,I thought maybe they were friends so here she was just being a woman, multi tasking. I noticed this before, that the person acting as mgr does have to majorly multi task, so I figured she wanted this 'off her to do list' even with me just sitting waiting, so I complied. She first said that it wasn't that the top had to have the plastic broken to be able to push top down, but then said to feel free to look at other sprays and try them to find one that I knew worked. After doing this, I figured I could just take them and leave so I was relaying to her this but she wanted me to wait. But, by then the mother of the child is annoyed at stylist and me, likely both at the acting mgr/ (woman cutting her child's hair) for interrupting her child's appt to Greet new person in salon, then again pulling attention away from her child haircut to want to see the two cans of spray, and then finally directing me to test those on shelf but then engaging me to stay. Of course, I'm not thrilled as i wouldn't be there at all if I could get stuff from can. And, I do see now that it is the top that has to be first 'broken' (the plastic piece that keeps those in store from using it) even if she's unaware, since there is a broken one on the shelf and a flatiron spray that works.'we are good, right?' move on...'so sorry for two trips and yes you are right that has to be pressed hard enough to push down top' no big deal, right? This is no one's fault or even a criticism, it's more that I'm sharing in event one thinks on a whim/in a pinch that they can try a Supercuts in not wanting to wait for regular salon appt. 'if you could please wait...' I could have done from minute I walked in and then of course did or I was also happy to just leave my product until she was finished with this woman and her kids, go home and get receipt, whatever. Mainly, it was not such a big deal for anyone to have to be upset about but now there are three of us all feeling bad. Perhaps this is just the type of customer in the salon, maybe there are discounts for some groups, or as here, mother was perhaps not observant or aware that the stylist had to also handle all the call in/walkin spots. Or perhaps mgr is needing to keep salon with appearance that only a few customers waiting for a cut are there as it makes sense that it's not desirable at a walk in place to appear to have any 'crowd' (this customer with her kids and mother + me might have been 'over' some desired number of persons 'waiting' for services). This is the only reason I can see for mgr wanting to get me on my way enough to interrupt the haircut, but then she had worries about inventory and all the product lids so wanted to keep me tethered. It confirmed why I'm glad I did this right away and had this type of experience with the product/packaging (which I am seeing as having had no 'problem' that a little force wouldn't have fixed tho definitely glad I didn't do this!). I don't know why there was a need to fib about it with the whole 'no do not break lid' and then checking of inventory etc except that it confirms my salon concerns. I'm just trying to get product out of a container or swap it, no big deal at a regular salon, right? I have tried Supercuts now a few times both at Dove Mountain and sunrise. I haven't found prices to be cheaper, even flatiron is extra. Perhaps there at discounts for certain groups & this 'customer' doesn't always exhibit behavior as in other stores or they don't tip well/ this then affects the demeanor of those working there for other customers & why we don't return. The first woman I went to was excellent but I didn't get a clear picture as to her regular hours at this location. Not sure if it was salon/mgr/inventory discussion that scared me off or the angry mom, but regardless I think I won't be saying aloha here anytime soon. I did inadvertently interrupt child's haircut even tho I was responding to mgmt upon entering salon, but apologized to mom. read more

I needed a hair shampoo due to a hand injury. When I first came in and spoke to Heather she was friendly and welcoming. I came back later when I had time, Lea took my name and I waited. She never smiled and certainly did not make me feel confident in her services even if it was just a shampoo. She was most unpleasant and seemed unhappy about working. Her shampooing was uneven with parts of my scalp barely getting touched. Anyway not even 24 hours later my scalp does not feel clean and remains quite oily. A poor product? Definitely a hairdresser that needs to relearn how to wash hair and get an attitude adjustment. read more

All this place has going for it is the courtesy of the staff... As far as I can tell. I'm moving out of state for a new, high paying job tomorrow... I wanted a nice cut and I'm not familiar with salons this area so I went on yelp and found this place. Five stars, awesome... Right? Not so much.. I showed the stylist numerous photos of the same haircut on the SAME PERSON and asked if it was doable with my hair. It was a simple undercut. I also said I liked the length on top and wanted to keep it... She said the cut would work and we got started. Well, about half way through I regretted it... My head looked like a mushroom and she was trying to trim my neck and call it a day. NOT OKAY. Honestly, it was almost as if she was blind it was that bad... Meanwhile I'm thinking to myself 'what have I done??' I figured... Fine. I know it's a hassle (and we were both a but frustrated at that point) but I looked like an idiot so I asked her to blend it with the sides a little more. As she was saying "I'm going to have to make the top short then..." She took the clippers and buzzed my hair. She didn't even wait for my feedback or how short I would want to go. There was no going back... I let her "finish" the cut and wound up with an alfalfa style patch and asked her to fix it. She buzzed that too. 'Okay, what ever,' I thought. 'Let's just get the hell out of here...' I wound up walking out with one side blended into the top and the other blended too high... It's honestly the worst haircut I've EVER gotten. The whole haircut is uneven, front... Sides... All over. I know I'm moving, but I would not recommend this location for anything other than a simple buzz cut. read more

Got hair cut on Saturday. Lady rushed through it and when I got home post shower I saw that my hair was uneven everywhere. It was horrible. I immediately called but I had to wait til the next day. She gave me the best hair consultation I have ever gotten, and asked all of the right questions to really understand what I wanted. Had a bad experience at this location last month and wrote a note on their website with no reply. Hair stylist took 6 minutes to cut my hair and did a terrible job. So I thought I would give them another chance and went to the store at 6:00 pm on a Thursday night. Hours on website said open till 7:00 PM... Wrote another letter via contact on website and don't expect to hear back. Place was shut down tight wasted a trip but went to another Vendor where I had a great experience and they now have my business. read more

I usually get a decent, inexpensive haircut here, however they have been understaffed every single time I have come for services. Even first thing in the morning, there are at least 3 waiting and only one person working. Why do they bother having 6 chairs? I wonder if they realize how many people just walk away? If you stay, you feel that services are rushed. Fortunately, there are plenty of other places to go. I also feel for the elderly who don't have smart phones to make an appointment and sit for an hour or more because they can't phone ahead to put their name on the list. I had some bad experiences at expensive salons in Tucson and I desperately needed a haircut so I decided to drop into Super Cuts on Swan and Sunrise for a cut. I decided they couldn't possibly be any worse than what I'd already gotten. I knew exactly what I wanted which was pretty much to cut out all the stuff the previous stylist gave me. I was lucky enough to get Yolanda and she did everything I asked. She gave me an amazing cut. She was nice to talk to and very efficient. She didn't waste a moment of my time. I can't say what Yolanda is like if you don't know what you want but if you know what you want, she'll do it for you. And, you'll pay a fraction of the price for a wash and cut than you will at any of the salons in Tucson. I will definitely be calling Super Cuts to see what day Yolanda is working the next time I need a hair cut. If you decide to go, the shop is hidden in the corner of the strip mall between the Einstein Bagel shop and the CVS. The front door is hidden by a tree. She asked me what I wanted and gave me her professional opinion. I left the salon with exactly the haircut I wanted. She made the experience fun. For the first time, I look forward to returning to a stylist! Se colored, cut and styled my hair and I love it! My daughter is visiting from Lake Tahoe. She visited a stylist who did such a poor job it looked like her hair had been cut with a weed whacker. Twenty minutes with Veronica repaired the damage and my daughter's hair is beautiful. I called ahead to this location specifically to have my haircut cut by Myla because she had done a great job before and I was happy to tip her generously. I was told that the wait was approximately fifteen minutes. I arrived about ten minutes later to find Myla working on another customer, no problem. She then finishes with said customer and then walks right past me, the only customer waiting, out the front door apparently on her way to an a much needed break. I could've excused this behavior if only she would've explained the me what she was doing. I Immediately got up and walked away. Myla will not be getting my business in the future. And in my opinion, she shouldn't be getting yours either. Avoid this location. read more
