Barbara was absolutely wonderful! She has such a positive, upbeat personality that made my entire visit enjoyable from start to finish. Her customer service was exceptional, and I really appreciated that she even complimented my hair--it was a thoughtful touch that made me feel welcome. Barbara was thorough, detail-oriented, and took great care with every step. I absolutely love the results of her work! From now on, I'll be requesting Barbara whenever possible. If you're looking for a talented stylist who truly cares about her clients and does an outstanding job, I highly recommend her. read more

I normally love coming to this place, but I went in yesterday and absolutely loved my haircut. But the guy who cut my brothers hair left massive chunks of hair still on his head, it was very uneven and choppy. My brother barely has any hair as it is and should have been a simple cut. We left and were already on the way home before I noticed this huge mistake. I normally prefer this location compared to South side location but I will start going to the south side one from here on out read more

While living in Salinas this was my favorite shop to go to. The other two shops i went to did not listen to me, and cut my hair much shorter than i wanted it. But not here. They listened to me and cut it exactly as i wanted. Not how they wanted it cut, but exactly how i wantrd it cut. Because of this, i went back many times, until I moved to Napa. read more

The owners are so greedy here. They refuse to participate in any of the specials and/or coupons. They own quite a bit of the local great clips, I think Monterey County area is all theirs. So I go outside of the county and use the coupons. The other great clips will love to have your business and appreciate your loyalty. When there is not a coupon we still refuse to support the Salinas locations. We support only companies that appreciate their customers. Also, when I used to go here, they charged me an extra $40 when they cut my 2 boys hair when I asked if they could wipe down their necks as we were leaving town right after. I asked if they had a wet towel or something and I could wipe it and they said they could hit it with water real quick. They literally spent 5-10 seconds in the chair, they didn't get all the hair off, but I figured it was something and appreciated that, then they said it was $20 each. This is not something that I was not told prior to them doing it and it wasn't on the price list. I was then told that the owners have cameras and they HAD to charge me because they are always watching them and even though it was just seconds, they would get caught. I feel bad for the staff, they seem to be abused. Probably why they have so much turnover. That was the last time I went there. read more

Made online appointment, not a problem. I was fortunate enough to have Barbara cut my hair. Quick and easy. Barbara was very professional, listened to my requests and she went above and beyond my expectations. Not every stylist working for a chain salon will give this much attention to detail. Thanks again Barbara. read more

Barbara gave me exactly what I asked for. My curtain bangs were blended perfectly and I was satisfied with the outcome of my hair.

Great service. It's worth the wait. It's always busy. But all the ladies are super nice & super chill vibe. I usually always wait for Cecilia to cut my hair. read more

Checked in online with a 17 minute wait time and 4 people in line including me. I go inside 5 minutes ahead of time and see 3 hair stylist cutting hair with no one else waiting ahead of me. They greeted me and that was it, didn't ask if I checked in online. Thats fine. Two stylist finish their customers; one goes on break and the other just wonders into the back. I waited over 10 minutes and just told the lady cutting the persons hair to take me off their check-in. I'll go overpay somewhere else with better customer service. read more

Liz is a hard working woman. The time and attention she gives to each customer is amazing. My hair looks the best it ever looks in the 60 plus years ive been my hair cut. Her pleasant attitude is a plus. I just love her....you knowww what i mean. read more

Good service, price, and respectful. I did not need to wait long. Amelia is recommended!

Tish was great and totally went along with my big chop I wanted! We even showed the stylist next to us haha

Wow it has been a while since I've had a haircut and always went to fancy salons that charge so much and take forever to get an appointment. I walked in because I was bored and had free time. Short 5 minute wait and then Jonelle gave me a great haircut and plenty of advice on how to better care for my hair. She gave me as much attention as a $100+ haircut. read more

I will never, ever go back to this place again! Went in to get a trim and this lady who cut my hair did a terrible job! First of all, she tried to drown me with the spray bottle she used to wet my hair. Ughhh! I told her how I wanted my trim and she freaking chopped off my hair! I asked her how long has she been cutting hairs and she said 20 years. Bull! The way she clumsily held the scissors, I know for sure she's a newbie. It took her less than 10 minutes to do my hair and that includes drowning me with her spray bottle. She asked if I liked my haircut and I said heck no! She got upset and said that I don't have to pay because I wasn't happy with her work but I insisted on paying and the other girl took the money. That was definitely a terrible experience. I may need to go to another hairdresser to fix her terrible job! read more

Joselyn was incredibly thorough and did a great job. I've been here several times before and the stylist has always had something go wrong or cut unevenly, but this one was great read more

This is my stop where I'd always get my haircut ‍ , this spot is well maintained, and always has enough stylists on hand ,i came in as a last resort because the Supercuts in constitution was closed down!!! That was my spot to go to , but not anymore. When I tried to check In online the app i couldn't , so I drove on over there to see what was up, they had a huge waiting list. I put my name in and waiting about 5 minutes tops , the people who had checked in Online didn't even show , which was good for me because they were closing soon The stylist who cut my hair Monica , i believe her name was did an excellent job , she even noticed my bazinga shirt from The Big Bang Theory!!! , which was a plus , we talk about the show though out my haircut, she cut my hair exactly how i wanted it!!! Got my hair cut by Ashlan. She was amazing really listened to what I wanted. Made sure I liked it. Which I loved my haircut.

Not gonna lie...I don't normally go to Great Clips because of the experiences I have had, but I needed a cut super bad and Ana did an amazing job and was super duper quick!! She did a great fade with a trim. Bada-bing-bada-boom! Highly recommend. Ask for Ana!! read more

Needed a haircut today before I start my work week. I've never been to great cuts before, so this was a toss up for me if its gonna be good or not. I found out that great clips has a mobile app that you can check into a location from. That's a pretty awesome thing to have, so you'll know exactly how long your wait time is! The app is free, so I suggest it. My barber today was Anna Ortiz. She did a great job, and took her time. I appreciate that. I'll definitely come back to this location. read more

Went in with the $15 coupon. Everyone was nice, and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. My stylist, Consuelo, gave me a great cut, and good conversation. There was no wait time when I got there, but there was a 19 minute wait once I was checked in, so I suggest you check-in online or on the app before you come in. read more

Stopped by here to get a haircut. Was not expecting anything great...despite the name lol. Went in and had no appointment. They took me right away. There were 3 people cutting hair and 2 of them were busy. While I was there 3 or 4 more people showed up and another stylist so it got busy pretty quick. Mindy was the lady who cut my hair. She was really quick maybe about 15 minutes and she asked me how long I wanted it verifying twice. She cut it the perfect length and cleaned up my nech and around the ears. She showed me how she did my neck line. It was again perfect. I have paid $50 and been less happy many times lol. This cut ended up being $17. That's just awesome for such a great cut. I will definitely be back again and again. The place is clean. For fast and good you just can't beat it! read more

Another satisfied cut for my son. Kudos to Amanda for giving my son another great cut! This time, we utilized the website and it saved us lots of waiting time and a big plus was that we got to show up just minutes before Amanda took him to her chair. Very different from the 1st trip where we waited 45 min for not knowing about the "Check In" option available online/app. The Check-In option saved us a lot of time by not having to wait in the salon, but instead simple walk in and your spot is reserved. Any person walking in and expecting to be placed in front of people who reserved their spot 1hr or more ahead of time- should not be so quick to overlook this. I also asked about not being able to book specific hair stylist, and she let me know that although they cannot take appointments, we (customers) can still check-in online, then once your at the location, request to wait for the person you want. This was very good news for me and my son. Thank you Amanda! read more

Hair cut is ok. Customer service needs work. What's the point of checking in online if you get in the store and you keep getting skipped. Only to find out that the people here keep apologizing for you getting skipped. Won't be going here again. read more

I went in to the Salinas store at 1976 N. Main St. around 2pm today. I was number 2 on the list of names and it really didn't take that long to get seen. The person who ended up cutting my hair seemed like she really didn't want do it. I could tell as she just wondered around for about ten minutes after she finished the person before me. She seemed like I was bothering her and half heartedly greeted me and introduced herself as Tish. She asked me how I would like it cut and I explained something simple. So she grabs the clippers and puts the attachment on it and just kind of half assed started moving the clippers around my head with one hand. She didn't bother instruct me on which way to move my head. She slowly took her time and finished with the first part and then grabbed some scissors to finish. I just kind of sat there and put up with it as there was no one else. The whole time it felt like I was wasting her time and she put in very little effort to make it look decent. She finally looked like she was finished and asked how it looked. I was satisfied with it and just wanted to pay and leave. The last city I lived in, Dublin, CA had a very good stylist who I went to regularly and always asked how I was doing and always did an excellent job and took her time to make sure I liked it. I don't live in Salinas anyway so I won't be going back to that store. Maybe the other stylists are better? read more

First and last time going to this place. Got there at 9am right when they opened and still got skipped. Terrible customer service.

Deanna did a wonderful job on my 11 year son's haircut. It usually takes me asking the stylist to fix several mistakes because my son has a lot of fine very straight hair. You can see every cut and every mistake in it. Deanna cut and blended his hair perfectly on the first time and she was quick too. We will be back. read more

I check in using the app and it said 140min wait time, I check in and showed up with 5mins left on my wait time. They lady at the door asked if I could comeback tomorrow. I told her I'm from out of town and leaving tonight. The app should say unable to check in and I would of checked other places for a haircut. Now I'm leaving without a haircut, one of the reasons why I came to Salinas. read more

So today I decided to go get a haircut after 3 weeks as the haircut was coming to an end I asked Amanda who works there to use the double zero on the sides and she shattered getting angry saying she can't do it cause she cut someone a couple days ago I had to have one of the more experienced lady's finish my haircut this is the first time I've had someone say they can't finish the haircut bad service with Amanda. read more

Always open late. What is the purpose of using the online check in app if you can't check until 5 mins after the place opens? You would think the Great Clip would want to encourage people using the app not punish them for using the app. Makes no sense. As far as the hair cut it depend what stylist you get. Some are mediocre and some are great. read more

If there was a "zero star" option I'd give it to Great Clips. On Saturday 6/6, I checked-in at 2pm, the Great clips rep kindly advise me to come back in a couple hours. So, I went back at around 4:15 the man that checked-me in told me that I should come back the next day. I drove from Alameda county to get a haircut (Alameda is in phase 2), and this dude told me to come back the next day. I don't know why they would even have an online "check-in" system when they don't honor it like Sportsclips. Good thing I stayed and waited, a kind hairstylist was able to cut my hair. Poor customer service on their part for attempting to deny me a haircut after I "checked-in" online. Never going here again!! read more

See Amanda if you want a great haircut!! I had horrible haircut 2 months ago at another location (South Salinas). Amanda corrected previous errors, and I couldn't be happier with the results. So 5 stars, 10 out 10 for Amanda!! Thank you for the friendly service as well. Danny :-) read more

If I could I would give it 0 starts, I came in to bring my brother to cut his hair at 11:12 the lady said we would wait 45 minutes because it was busy so we did, 45 minutes go by my brother still isn't getting his hair cut, come to find out 2 other gentleman that just arrives went in before him got their hair cut and left, while we where waiting here for more than an 1 hour. First time here and definitely never coming back. Wanted to try it out because I heard good reviews of it but definitely not worth the time I waisted here. Very unprofessional. read more

Very clean, well organized with COVID-19 guidelines in place. Very clean, felt safe getting a much needed hair trim. Quickly in and out.

Went to JUANA. Do not let her cut your hair! She did such a horrible job I had to go back because she missed a lot of spots! She was there and didn't apologize and actually had the nerve to laugh at me! Another girl fixed it and she was nice but I will NEVER go back! Juana should not be cutting hair or be in any customer service industry! read more

Friendly staff and easygoing clean atmosphere. I think this will become my default place for haircuts.
