The owners are so greedy here. They refuse to participate in any of the specials and/or coupons. They own quite a bit of the local great clips, I think Monterey County area is all theirs. So I go outside of the county and use the coupons. The other great clips will love to have your business and appreciate your loyalty. When there is not a coupon we still refuse to support the Salinas locations. We support only companies that appreciate their customers. Also, when I used to go here, they charged me an extra $40 when they cut my 2 boys hair when I asked if they could wipe down their necks as we were leaving town right after. I asked if they had a wet towel or something and I could wipe it and they said they could hit it with water real quick. They literally spent 5-10 seconds in the chair, they didn't get all the hair off, but I figured it was something and appreciated that, then they said it was $20 each. This is not something that I was not told prior to them doing it and it wasn't on the price list. I was then told that the owners have cameras and they HAD to charge me because they are always watching them and even though it was just seconds, they would get caught. I feel bad for the staff, they seem to be abused. Probably why they have so much turnover. That was the last time I went there. read more

Checked in online with a 17 minute wait time and 4 people in line including me. I go inside 5 minutes ahead of time and see 3 hair stylist cutting hair with no one else waiting ahead of me. They greeted me and that was it, didn't ask if I checked in online. Thats fine. Two stylist finish their customers; one goes on break and the other just wonders into the back. I waited over 10 minutes and just told the lady cutting the persons hair to take me off their check-in. I'll go overpay somewhere else with better customer service. read more

I will never, ever go back to this place again! Went in to get a trim and this lady who cut my hair did a terrible job! First of all, she tried to drown me with the spray bottle she used to wet my hair. Ughhh! I told her how I wanted my trim and she freaking chopped off my hair! I asked her how long has she been cutting hairs and she said 20 years. Bull! The way she clumsily held the scissors, I know for sure she's a newbie. It took her less than 10 minutes to do my hair and that includes drowning me with her spray bottle. She asked if I liked my haircut and I said heck no! She got upset and said that I don't have to pay because I wasn't happy with her work but I insisted on paying and the other girl took the money. That was definitely a terrible experience. This is my stop where I'd always get my haircut ‍ , this spot is well maintained, and always has enough stylists on hand ,i came in as a last resort because the Supercuts in constitution was closed down!!! That was my spot to go to , but not anymore. When I tried to check In online the app i couldn't , so I drove on over there to see what was up, they had a huge waiting list. Stopped by here to get a haircut. Was not expecting anything great...despite the name lol. Went in and had no appointment. They took me right away. There were 3 people cutting hair and 2 of them were busy. While I was there 3 or 4 more people showed up and another stylist so it got busy pretty quick. Mindy was the lady who cut my hair. She was really quick maybe about 15 minutes and she asked me how long I wanted it verifying twice. She cut it the perfect length and cleaned up my nech and around the ears. She showed me how she did my neck line. It was again perfect. I have paid $50 and been less happy many times lol. This cut ended up being $17. That's just awesome for such a great cut. I will definitely be back again and again. The place is clean. For fast and good you just can't beat it! read more

Another satisfied cut for my son. Kudos to Amanda for giving my son another great cut! This time, we utilized the website and it saved us lots of waiting time and a big plus was that we got to show up just minutes before Amanda took him to her chair. Very different from the 1st trip where we waited 45 min for not knowing about the "Check In" option available online/app. The Check-In option saved us a lot of time by not having to wait in the salon, but instead simple walk in and your spot is reserved. Any person walking in and expecting to be placed in front of people who reserved their spot 1hr or more ahead of time- should not be so quick to overlook this. I also asked about not being able to book specific hair stylist, and she let me know that although they cannot take appointments, we (customers) can still check-in online, then once your at the location, request to wait for the person you want. I went in to the Salinas store at 1976 N. Main St. around 2pm today. I was number 2 on the list of names and it really didn't take that long to get seen. The person who ended up cutting my hair seemed like she really didn't want do it. I could tell as she just wondered around for about ten minutes after she finished the person before me. She seemed like I was bothering her and half heartedly greeted me and introduced herself as Tish. She asked me how I would like it cut and I explained something simple. So she grabs the clippers and puts the attachment on it and just kind of half assed started moving the clippers around my head with one hand. She didn't bother instruct me on which way to move my head. She slowly took her time and finished with the first part and then grabbed some scissors to finish. I just kind of sat there and put up with it as there was no one else. The whole time it felt like I was wasting her time and she put in very little effort to make it look decent. She finally looked like she was finished and asked how it looked. I was satisfied with it and just wanted to pay and leave. The last city I lived in, Dublin, CA had a very good stylist who I went to regularly and always asked how I was doing and always did an excellent job and took her time to make sure I liked it. I don't live in Salinas anyway so I won't be going back to that store. Maybe the other stylists are better? read more

I told her I'm from out of town and leaving tonight. The app should say unable to check in and I would of checked other places for a haircut. If there was a "zero star" option I'd give it to Great Clips. On Saturday 6/6, I checked-in at 2pm, the Great clips rep kindly advise me to come back in a couple hours. So, I went back at around 4:15 the man that checked-me in told me that I should come back the next day. I drove from Alameda county to get a haircut (Alameda is in phase 2), and this dude told me to come back the next day. I don't know why they would even have an online "check-in" system when they don't honor it like Sportsclips. Good thing I stayed and waited, a kind hairstylist was able to cut my hair. If I could I would give it 0 starts, I came in to bring my brother to cut his hair at 11:12 the lady said we would wait 45 minutes because it was busy so we did, 45 minutes go by my brother still isn't getting his hair cut, come to find out 2 other gentleman that just arrives went in before him got their hair cut and left, while we where waiting here for more than an 1 hour. First time here and definitely never coming back. Wanted to try it out because I heard good reviews of it but definitely not worth the time I waisted here. Very unprofessional. read more
