Terrible experience at the Browns Hill Road location. I brought my 8-year-old son here for a haircut, and our stylist, Anyette, was incredibly short, impatient, and visibly annoyed during the entire visit. Because she rushed through it, the final haircut is completely uneven and highly unprofessional. I am deeply disappointed by her poor attitude and the terrible quality of the cut. We will not be returning. read more

I came here because my regular Great Clips is closed. I've had excellent experiences there, so I thought it'd be similar at another location. The stylist was nice enough, definitely rushed, but that's okay. I came in for an undercut, just a simple triangle cut out at the nape of my neck. She said 'no problem' and got started. I had to ask to feel it before she chopped it all off, and I thought it was fine, I didn't want to make a fuss. She gave me a mirror for like 0.5 seconds as I was getting up and it didn't look too bad, so I left for the gym. I got home and tried to take a picture for my friend and I realized IT'S COMPLETELY CROOKED. The point of the triangle, meant to be centered on my head, is wildly curved to the left. The lines are wavy and nonsensical, and the buzz isn't even. I'm headed to a real salon to get it fixed. read more

It really depends on who you get here. Carlos is good, but they've butchered my hair 2 out of 3 times now. The fade is so high I might as well have a Mohawk. Location is convenient for me, and there's usually availability, but I don't think I'll be going back. I hate leaving bad reviews, it makes me feel like a Karen, but if I can spare someone from going through what I'm dealing with right now, then I guess it's worth it. The prices are good, location is good, staff is friendly, and I do like the place overall, but they need better training or something. If someone is new or inexperienced, we should know that before sitting down in their chair. That goes for any salon, but none do it. read more

You get what you pay for. No one should really complain about a haircut from a place that is a chain. Staff is friendly, not saying that they remember who you are, but they do store your previous haircut in the computer. So don't be surprised if they remember the number they used on the clippers. Most staff are easy to talk to, but avoid the one that talks about anger management when he has a pair of scissors in his hands. They do have an app for smart phones that allows you to schedule yourself for an appointment so you don't have to wait as long. Also, I give you kudos for using 'clippers' as your dividers between stations. Although I don't always feel like I'm sailing when I'm here. read more

It seems that they're always late and opening and when there was two people the one went to Dunkin' Donuts it was more important to get something to eat then wait on customers read more

Bring a selfie of how you want your hair done. Then cross your fingers. You never get the same barber or cut twice. If you do find one you like, he/she will not be there anymore after a month or so. On the plus side, it's convenient, reasonably priced and next to a Dunkin'. read more

Risking my life for a run-of-the-mill haircut.... First of all, for those of you going to this great clips from Squirrel Hill: good luck. Write a will. Kiss your children goodbye, since making a left turn across Brown's Hill Road is about as safe as playing on the interstate with steak knives. Going to this Great Clips is a little like playing haircut roulette: you never know what you're going to get. I've been twice now, and once I got a pretty decent cut, and once, well, I kind of looked bald. This last trip was actually pretty bad. I went at about 10:00 and they had a line of five people, with two stylists. They said it would be about 20 minutes. It was actually about an hour. And the sad thing is several people came in after me, and at one time, the line was seven people long, and they always said it would be 20 minutes. 20 minutes seems to be the standard answer, so take it with a grain of salt. While I was there, I did see one nice thing: they fix bad haircuts for free. An old lady came in unhappy with her cut, and they got her in right then. (No waiting in line for re-do's, apparently.) The stylist was very sweet with her and fixed it for free. I kind of wish I had known they fix bad haircuts, but then again, there's not much you can do when your hair's so short it looks bald. Eh. It grows out, right? read more

I just wanted to trim my split ends without the hassle of a hair appointment and spending a lot of money. I went to Great Clips the service was great and I only spent $14 plus tip. I will check in online next time but the wait was reasonable. read more

An ok haircut for an ok price. You get what you pay for at this place. Defiantly hit or miss as far as haircut quality. Staff was not very pleasant. read more

It's your standard chain hair salon. The staff is always nice and talkative, sometimes too talkative--is there a way to make a note in the computer as to if you like to be talked to or not? ;-) Reasonable rates. They offer discounts/coupons frequently. I do LOVE the online check-in via the app. Makes it so much easier to check in and decrease the wait time. read more

Just like the others this place is terribly hit or miss. I went twice, got a decent cut the first time from a nice and almost too cool for that kind of place woman and a horrible haircut another time. The woman who cut my hair the second time must have forged her license, she split my hair down the middle and cut everything the same length before I had a chance to say anything; she gave me the worst, most blunt and unflattering haircut I've ever been given. I have also seen that same haircutist (because stylist she certainly isn't) butcher a poor little boy with a botched crew cut, I didn't think it to be possible. read more

My son is 3 and hates a scissor near his head. We went to Hair clips by Homewood and my son was treated with patience and love. Heather was understanding, sweet and did a great job cutting son's hair. He sat on my lap and huggged me for the back of head cut and then turned around for the front and side. We loved this place And for 10 bucks it's perfect! read more

It's a good place for a cheap haircut. The service was fast and friendly. They could probably do a better job of cleaning and sanitizing the cutting equipment. The haircut was fine, however I did not ask for anything fancy. read more

I keep going back because they're at a convenient location for me. The quality can be hit or miss at times, but they do well enough for the price. And high price isn't always a guarantee of quality. The worst hair cut I've gotten in recent memory was at Dean of Shadyside salon with one of their mid level stylists; she did good the first time I went there, but the second time was awful. I needed it fixed in a hurry for an upcoming trip so I went to Great Clips and was happy with the result. read more

I had a very pleasant experience here. I was heading home for the weekend and decided I wanted to get a quick cut before I left. I checked in online, but ended up not really needing to, since there was no one else there. They had notes from the Great Clips I had gone to back in Michigan, so they already knew what I wanted. The stylist was very friendly and did the typical haircut chit-chat. It was very quick and efficient. I had a very simple cut (just clipper work) and I was in and out in maybe five minutes tops. They gave me a coupon for my next visit. I will definitely be going back. read more

Bridgeville... Love my cut at Great Clips! No only did I get a cut that I'd be happy with at even 4X the price, but I didn't have to wait or make an appointment. My husband even noticed my cut - that doesn't happen often at all! The only thing I didn't like - and mentioned before I left is that no one swept up the hair on the floor. It seemed as if the staff was all in the back chatting - no clients at all in the chairs. But no one had made the effort to clean before they vacated the sales/cutting floor. GROSS! My stylist said it was because they were busy, no... I let her know she couldn't claim that as they all were just sitting in the back when I came in. Don't lie to me!!! I'll be back. Hopefully my comments counted and the hair swept up and keep the areas clean. read more

The worst hair cut of my life. Utterly dissatisfied with the quality and manner in which my dresser(a noob or rookie) did my hair. Even after specific instructions on the length and style I wanted, she absolutely just sabotaged my hair. Pathetic and highly unprofessional dressers are there! These have just know how to use a trimmer and randomly cut hair, without any prior experience, practice or training. Dont even think of going here! read more

I usually avoid chain haircut places like the plague; shockingly, they have given me a pretty darn good haircut two times in a row! I know I'm bound to eventually get a hairdresser who gives me a "just okay" haircut but for right now I'm going to be a repeat customer. read more

Worst haircut ever... I'm actually embarrassed to be in public. The so-called stylist apologized, yet blamed it on the notes in her computer (I've been here in the past, with less devastating outcomes). In my opinion, she should ask prior to unleashing the clippers on people. Never again. read more
