This used to be my regular spot until I had a negative experience with a stylist (blonde hair, name unknown). She was dismissive and unprofessional. When I showed a reference photo and asked for recommendations, she responded rudely, saying it wouldn't suit me instead of offering helpful guidance. As I write this (about an hour after leaving Great Clips) my stomach is still in a knot and I have a lump in my throat. It's been about 2 years since I've had my hair cut (I'm very low maintenance and the world shut down for like a year plus due to the pandemic). I checked-in to Great Clips online and arrived a few minutes later. There wasn't anyone ahead of me so I got seated right away. As I took my hair down from my braid, I told the stylist that I just wanted to cut 1.5-2" straight across the ends. Let me tell you... the look of disgust on her face as I was unbraiding my hair made me want to cry. Her expression made me feel like I was beyond gross. I contemplated leaving. I felt lower than low. Then, no gentleness as she combed my hair, tugging at any knots. I almost asked her if I could do it myself due to the pain. Then I sat there in silence as she snipped the ends off. No light conversation. No smile. Nothing. (I have never had a stylist not say ANYTHING to me while they worked.) About 2 minutes later and $15 bill (plus tip), I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Even an hour after leaving, I still don't feel good. It's utterly amazing how someone's non verbal communication can really bring someone down. I want to just brush it off but it made me really sad. I won't be coming back. read more

Showed up on a light Sunday afternoon with two people ahead of me. The hispanic lady with long hair and stocky body habits at the shop told me that I have to download an app in order to get in line. When I asked if I could just get in line in store with her entering my information as I prefer to not download an app just for haircut. She seems irritated and told me the app is required elsewhere. Poor attitude and customer service, seems like she is just lazy and does not want to enter my info. Will never return to this store. read more

This was my first and last time I will be going to this location I Walked in and saw someone sitting on a chair on there phone. She didn't realize I was there until I made it to the desk. When I made it to the desk, without looking up, she says hello. At this point I assumed she didn't work there because she continued typing on her phone. Turns out she did after finishing whatever was more important than a customer waiting to be served, she stood up and asked how she can help me. I let her know I didn't know she even worked here and I'll just go get a haircut somewhere else. read more

I asked for a beard trim and got my entire beard cut off!! I closed my eyes and dozed off. I work nights so I was exhausted then I wake up to my entire beard gone and all I asked for was to have it shaped and the stray hairs trimmed off. I have been here two times in the last couple weeks taking my kids for haircuts. My little boy was given a stylish haircut that I am very pleased with. I figured after having a good experience and a coupon from my receipt that I'd go again for my little girl. I went in and the worker started asking a few questions about what I wanted to do for my little girls hair. I told her and she kept telling me, " no you don't want to do that." She kept repeating that even after I'd ask why not. She kept saying we'll give her a trim which I had already mentioned I wanted her hair cut and even. This was her first haircut. Well the haircut turned out horribly. She then goes to blame it on my girl for "moving" well, first off, she's two and she wasn't moving that much because I had her on my lap and keeping her pretty still. She chopped her bangs so high and barely touched the part I actually wanted her to cut. I was not a fan of the stylist and I could tell it was not going to end well, she was older and seemed to not be up to date on the styles. Let's just say I'll return but be more selective on who gets to cut my kids hair. read more

This was my first time at this particular great clips. I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon around 4 , the wait was about 15 minutes. I showed the hairdresser a picture of the haircut I wanted, she wavered back and forth on what type of clippers to use. She did not seem confident in her estimation of the length of hair a particular clipper would cut. After she was done, the hairline was not uniformly even and I asked her to repeat the process. When it was all done, I found out later that the back of my hair was also not cut evenly. For $13 haircuts, I will not return to this location. There are places closer in Houston that will cut your hair for $5 and do a better job. read more

I really like this place because it's so conveniently located. It is probably a 5 minuted drive down the street from me. The online check-in App is great... and really cuts the wait time in half, if not more. I've been coming to this location for about 2 years now, and come in for a cut maybe every 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. They def. make you feel at home because they greet you right when you walk in the doors. They def. know me by now and it's easy to feel comfortable. I do have my go-to stylist. They are all very personable and strike up pretty interesting conversations. Only a couple times I have felt a little unimpressed/unsatisfied with the work done. On one occasion they gave me a taper, but totally forgot to do the other side! I didn't bring it up at that moment because I did not notice it right away. Thankfully I knew how to fix the situation myself with my own clippers back at home. On one of my more recent visits, the stylist adamantly thought she knew what I should do with my hair, even though it was not what I was asking for. I ultimately got my way and she cut it how I wanted it but it was just shocking that she kept trying to cut it her way. With that being said, I now ask for particular stylist to cut my hair. That easily remedies those situations from happening in the future. I'm due for a cut at the end of this week and let's see how it goes. read more

Hadn't been there in years (since the stylist I liked left), decided to go back and try my luck with it being under new management. My hair was short but wasn't quite how I hoped for (having it cut about a 2 wks prior to this visit). The wait wasn't long at all, I was actually #8 on the list so about 10 min later I'm in the chair. Michelle listened to what I wanted, then did exactly what I hoped the outcome would be..I was so happy (finally). The other stylists there all seem friendly & I enjoyed chatting with them. The establishment is very well kept & clean & they now have an app that you can check yourself in and cut the wait time. Poor customer service my first time in there both of us came in for military cut we have to listen to this big black women complain about wanting the day off with her daughter and she's threatening to quit that day unless she gets a day off the person to checked me and had me schedule for the next person that could do a military haircut and then undenounced to me someone that came off the street as a reservation online goes ahead of me I walk out and my buddy only gets his haircut that we will not be coming back to this piss poor place. read more

The worst hair cut you will ever receive. I hadn't gone here for 2 years because of how terrible they've been in the past but I was in need of a cut and thought maybe just maybe they could handle 1 inch off all around. Do not make this mistake, the "barbers" here are embarrassingly stupid or uncaring or most likely both. Apparently they thought I meant 1 inch off the hair cut I received 2 years ago. But the kicker is I told them multiple times I wanted 1 inch off what I had on my head at that exact moment because I knew they were getting confused. And when I say they, I mean they, because halfway through the first "barber" tag teamed with another in a hope that she would fix the mess she made. Please don't take this review as a one time event, if you walk in to this location you will see that it is empty for good reason. Give your kids some scissors, they'll do a better job, probably are just as well trained too. read more
