I've been going to this location for several years but service has deteriorated lately. This last time was the final straw. I wanted it cut a little shorter than before, because the neckline grew out too quickly last time, and I showed her several photos on my phone To explain what I wanted. I wear a pixie cut and expected her to trim along the natural hairline as all stylists have in the past. Instead, she shaved it nearly up to the top of my ear on the left side and trimmed it longer on the right, giving me a ridiculous lopsided neckline. I thought it odd that she didn't hand me a mirror to view the back, as usually happens, but figured maybe she was just hurrying because it was a busy Saturday afternoon. When I got home and looked in the mirror, I knew why. I'm done with this place. Going to find myself a stylist who knows how to cut short hair. One star is not even good enough for the service I received on Sept 13, 2022. Finally, was able to get in after trying for almost a week. Neede a haircut for my daughters weeding that is taking place in a few days. When I stepped into the waiting area was told there was at least an hour wait. I asked if a specific stylist was available was told she no longer worked there and that they were also short staffed. Understood that.. Then I was told if I wanted to wait, I had to remain in the building ...... Thought about it. left but came back about five minutes later. I was taken care of right away which I appreciated was handed over to NICOLE for my cut. Girl was a total snot from the beginning. I told her what I wanted even showed her a picture. She kept describing different cuts. I said, Let's just to a layered bod with a little texturizing in the crown. I even asked her if she knew how to do a bob cut. OH YES, I CAN DO IT ALL was her response!!!!! Needless to say, what I got was a CHOPPED-UP MESS WITH ONE SIDE LONGER THAN THE OTHER AND A HUGE STEP AND HOLE LIKE LOOK IN THE BACK. IMEEDIATLY CALLED THE MANAGER ALLISON. WAS TOLD SHE COULDNT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. SO, I WENT BACK NEXT MORING. I WAS VERY POLITE A TO HER. I'm still upset 5wks after being humiliated. I normally go to a different shop but they were closed do to Covid they lost help and hours were changed. I had been to this location twice and went in. The girl who took me was so nasty . I always make sure my hair is clean since they don't wash hair anymore. The girl was being very rough coming my hair and I kindly said honey your hurting me and thats all it took for her to go off on me. She lectured me about coming there with hairspray in my hair which was not so. when I asked why she was being so nasty with me she said "do you want your hair cut then Stop Talking! I asked why are you so angry? She raised her voice and said " I told you to stop talking! I was so upset I asked if there was a Manager and it was this Nasty Blonde that had cut my hair on another visit. She could hear all of it and yet when I said this girl is making shut up. She didn't say shut up she said Stop Talking and the Mgr. misunderstood and just raised her voice in front of waiting customers and said GET OUT! In tears I left with wet hair half cut. I made to my Great Clips now open and my regular Gal hugged me and listened to me, the other gal told me of all the complaints these girls get. She gave me Corporates Phone # and I called . Because they are owned by different people It seems no one changes. I said I want an apology and the best I could get was a free haircut somewhere else. NO THANK YOU ! I'm in knots just writing. I was told the 2 would be talked to for their side and she defended her saying "she makes good money and has been with us 5yrs. Who Cares. I'm not young and this has rattled me to my very core. Great clips Parma hts is a joke..The worst haircut I've ever had.I told the girl..the blonde with the fake diamond stud in her chest ..NOT to cut it short and to NOT cut the top...and I left looking like some 10 year old schoolboy with super short hair..I don't think I've EVER had my hair this short..and I told her NOT to cut it short...and once cut lets face it there's not much you can do...What a joke this so call hair stylist is. And every time I go there the crew seems all new so if you ever did get a good cut it would never happenagain.. but with poor haircuts like this it would explain the turn around in employee's...this must be the first places these girls go when they start learning because no one there seems to have any experience. read more

My daughter and I go to the Great Clips on York Road in Parma Heights. We have never had a bad experience. There is a young lady there who cuts my hair each time I go and she does a wonderful job. They listen to what we ask them to do with our hair and we have not been disappointed. Unfortunately, there are employees who leave us with a bad experience., just to explain the poor reviews for Great Clips. This happens everywhere. I had surgery on my right hand about a year ago and I went to the Great Clips on York Road to have my hair washed, since I could not wash it. The young lady was very accommodating and very kind. I have had nothing but positive experiences when I go to this place and they do exactly what I want and treat me with respect and my daughter feels the same way. read more

Very very worst experience I've ever had. Please fire the old lady Julienne, she didn't listen to whatever I said and had it done totally opposite of what I asked. I even showed her a picture, it was not even close to what's there in the picture. She really must be very careful when dealing with customers. I TOOK MY SON FOR A HAIRCUT AND THE OLDER LADY WHO DID THE HAIR CUT. Was very nasty none of the Employees we're smiling or friendly plus she cut him. When she was doing the hair cut. This was my first time going to a Great Clips and I definitely would go back. The second the staff found out it was my first time getting a haircut at one of their locations, they happily explained to me how the salon works. My stylist, Summer, was very polite and accommodating. She listened to and addressed all of my hair concerns and made sure to use products specific to my requests. During the haircut, she would make sure I was happy and had no problem making additional changes. All in all, it was a good experience; great staff, good haircut, no wait, and affordable price. read more

I was alway a fan of Great Clips before I moved to Clevleand for my assignment from Cincinnati. I work in down town and I had accompanied my friends to some local barber shops. but seeing the hygenic conditions, I thought of visiting Great clips for my hair cut. But the kind of service that was offered to, both at Lorain Road and York Road, made me review my markings for them. I have not come across any one doing a hari cut with one hand (even people do gardening with 2 hands.) till now. I had this experience at Lorain Road. At York Road, the lady completed my hair cut in less than 3 mins. It reminds me of a maid doing mopping. She did not even bothered to held the mirror behind my head , asking me to review how good the cut was. This showed me how much of love do they have on their profession and how much value do they give for their customer's feelings. I observed my friend getting repeated questions from the barber about Hair style and lenght or cut angle in downtown during the hair cut process. This is certainly a love that they had on their on profession making them to see how much satisfied is their customer. I WILL BE NEVER VISITING GREAT CLIPS FOR HAIR CUT, even if they offer me the service at $2.99. These are my personal comments. Any questions, I will be glad to answer. read more

My family has had two bad experiences at this hair salon. My daughter had very long hair and wanted to have it cut and donated to Locks of Love or a similar organization. The stylists were less than enthusiastic about her wishes, so she ended up going to the Great Clips nearby on Sprague Road where the stylists were happy to oblige. Today I signed in at the front desk. The place was packed. I was told there would be an hour wait, so I said I would be back. The stylist who took my name asked me if that meant I wanted to cancel my appointment. I said "no, I will be back in less than an hour". I did a quick errand and waited in my car in the parking lot for about 1/2 hour since every seat in the waiting area was taken. When I went back into the salon to see where I was in line, another girl told me I wasn't on the list. The original girl came up and said to me "you cancelled your spot!". I replied that I didn't cancel, and that I had told her I would be back. Nobody offered any resolution to the matter; everyone stopped what they were doing and gave me a "deer in the headlights" look. I said "well apparently I don't have an appointment now". No one said a word so I just walked out. I went to the store on Sprague Rd. They were busy too, but were extremely apologetic about the wait and everyone there was as nice as could be. I will never go back to the store on York Road in Parma Heights. read more

Their online check in process is absurd. I was told by corporate that customers checking in online simply means they are on their way. How stupid do you think I am. I live up the street from this location, if I go 20 minutes in either direction I pass multiple Great Clips. Sat there for over 20 minutes with a 3 year old waiting to get my hair cut, only to be bumped at the last second because someone who had checked in online before I even got there had finally arrived. Sat there for over 20 minutes, does not take 20 minutes to get this Great Clips location or any other location in my area. I would rather pay more and take my business elsewhere, to people who actually believe in the fact that service business is a first come first serve which they actually teach business students in college. Not to mention that the chick who cut my hair, stank to high heaven because her deodorant wore off. Another girl yelled at a little boy for taking more than one lollipop and made my daughter afraid to get a lollipop because she didn't want to get yelled at. They are dum dum pops. You can get like 500 of them for less than $5, no need to yell at a child for taking more than one. read more
