They are quick and I have curly hair but my favorite thing is that at other locations I've voiced some concerns about my hair thinning drying etc and they told me to try their leave in conditioing spray. At my 13 year old boy's request- we've tried Five star barber, Flloyds, and sport clips. All were expensive and they just seem to over shoot and cannot do a normal haircut. We came to Great Clips on Sunday morning, did online check in - we walked in and waited maybe one min, even though all chairs were full and 3 others waiting. We had Deana, she was amazing. She listened to what my son wanted - she was willing to cut a shorter amount and see how it went, she noted his file for next time so they know the clip numbers. First off, when I arrived my stylist was very sassy and seemed irritated that she had to do her job. I had very long hair prior to this haircut and let my stylist know, "I want it a lot shorter, maybe a bit above the shoulders?" She then proceeded to leave a few inches PAST my shoulders, which was a length I did not want. I tried my best to politely redirect her and even make it seem like my fault, "ya know, I think I had something shorter in mind than this." to which she snapped, "Do you have a picture? Because I'm not gonna sit here and do 5 different haircuts." Didn't realize professional stylists need pictures to understand what "A bit above the shoulders." means. I've been going here for years and usually have a great cut. This last time was ridiculous, I only came in to get the sides cleaned up and just trim the top. Joy did not listen to me and just went off the notes in the computer, and just basically started shaving my head. I said whoa what are you doing? Great Clips on Guadalupe and Dobson, customers beware. I have gone to this location multiple times, and this is the first horrible experience I've had. I did online check in, and showed up. There was only one employee there. It was a rather burly woman with bright maroon hair, angrily huffing around while sweeping. She barked at me. "What do you want?". I told her that I'd like a couple inches off since my end were dry from bleaching. She hadn't even looked at my hair since it was still in a braid, and she said "well if your hair is fried, I can't cut it." Why? She said it would look worse if she cut it. She said not to bother cutting it and just condition it. I told her I have been, but it's been difficult to style, so I'd like it shorter. She looked at me, like, "Get out of my chair. " So I ask, "Are you not willing to cut it?" She sighed loudly like she was exasperated with me and hollered to the other customers waiting, telling them it was going to be a while since "she insists on getting her hair cut. " Wtf, isn't that what they do at Great Clips? She grabbed my hair and roughly clipped it up. Husband discharged from the hospital after 5 months and wanted a haircut on 08/24/24. After 15 minutes in the waiting area and obviously in a wheelchair, he was called for his appt. (customer for 20 years). The stylist walked up the stair to her station. I said "he is in a wheelchair"! She asked if he could get out of the chair and step up. "NO!" I asked if she could cut his hair at a station that was not on an elevated level. She said he would have to move all her supplies. I told her we would go somewhere else. She noted that she would move her supplies, but I was too angry and she would not wait on us. I SILENTLY wheeled him out of the salon, as she continued to yell at me about my anger issues. The hairdresser got mad at me for asking her to texturize my hair, she turned the chair away from the mirror, so I couldn't watch, and started chopping away my hair with texturizing scissors. I'm in talks with an attorney about my options. Great Clips offered me two free haircuts as compensation. No wig to hide my bald scalp for 3 months while my hair grows back. I used to love going here, but the lady that checked us out wouldn't honor our coupons. I have gone to this place numerous times and have had no problems. She told me I didn't have the code that goes to the coupon even though I showed it to her where the code was. I don't mind paying for a haircut for full price, but if I get a coupon from Great Clips and they don't honor it that's not right. You don't have to a be an out of town vagabond. They're here every day chopping away, and you can walk in for a trim. Actually, as I discovered today, they're really pushing this whole "check in online" thing and have a specific app you can also download. I haven't looked at it, but if it sets a reminder for your haircut then I'm totally into it. I only seem to remember at the most inopportune and rushed times (ie. "Oh crud, I'm going to be on TV tomorrow morning and I look like Ringo.") As for the cutters--they weren't the most personable peeps on the block, but when it came down to it they all seemed to know what they were doing. My cutress was a nice enough lady and cut pretty quickly. I didn't get the courtesy ear trim (sexy, I know) but I also didn't ask for it. I did, however, get the courtesy eyebrow trim. If i could give then zero i would. Cut 13 style 18, not bad right? Wrong. The cut, i told her i wanted more layers an volume, i told her i didnt like my last cut. She processed to follow the exact cut of my hair, so now i have the same cut that i didn't really want. Fine .. The style, 30 minutes with a blow dryer and a round brush my hair is flat, with weird bumps at the top? I could have gotten the same results letting a three year old blow out my hair for 15 minutes. We went back after we realized the under shave in the back wasn't even, they left his neck unshaved and the top looked like a carrot top, nothing like the picture he showed. I came here because Cost Cutters was closed and I left a bit disappointed. My cut was fine, I just went in for a trim but since I was going out after I asked the stylist if she could just blow dry my hair. (Not style, blow dry) She blow dried it, barely put a spritz of hairspray in and we were done. A haircut costs $12...needless to say, I was a bit shocked when I was charged $31.00. I looked at the board and noticed for a "regular style" was $18. 1. I don't understand how a style costs more than a cut, 2. I was shocked I was charged their full price of a style when all I asked for (and got done) was a simple blow dry. When I asked for a blow dry, she should have made it known it would cost me an additional $18. I was pretty upset when I walked out and because of that, I won't be back. I have NEVER paid near that for a blow dry. $5, maybe. $18?! I don't think so! read more

I understand the importance of adhering to CDC guidelines during this challenging time, but the next time you inform your patrons that your lobby can only house 4 people (the people sitting in the 4 chairs allotted for the size of your lobby with social distancing waiting for their haircut) and instruct anyone that is standing that they need to wait outside, you need to follow through with ensuring everyone is following your instructions. I'm glad my son liked the haircut he got today, but the fact that I, his mother, was instructed to wait outside for my MINOR child, while you lacked the follow through for the other "extra" gentleman to also exit your establishment really infuriated me. I don't care if he was waiting for his haircut or not. He was standing just as I was, but you didn't make him exit while you were over your capacity limit. Leonard G. Yesterday I suffered through the worst haircut in my life. My "stylist" was Desiree, who cut me WAY too short--much, much shorter than I requested. The cut was completely uneven, especially in the back at the neck hairline. I told her before we started how I wanted to be cut, and she didn't listen to a word I said. It is astounding how bad she is as a stylist. I honestly think perhaps she had no experience cutting a man's hair; I may have been the first man she cut. Now I have to walk around for the next few weeks looking like a schmuck because of her incompetence. I visited this place for the first time about 20-30 minutes ago. I am highly disappointed and will never return here again. This is bad for business and I hope the owner/manager gets my message that I left $12 on the counter because the lady attempted to turn this around on me indirectly making it appear like I wanted a free haircut!
