This place sucks. Ok...to be fair...there was only one person I had a problem with, but that person is the manager! The other stylists did really nice hair cuts on their customers, but my husband wound up getting stuck with the manager. Upon meeting her she already acted like we were burdening her, and she didnt listen to what my husband wanted. He just left with shorter hair not necessarily in any style. I couldve done it. DO NOT SEE SHERRY FOR YOU HAIR CUT!!! She doesn't listen to what you want. I asked her for the same hair cut I walked in with only shorter. She asked me, "... so you want ...?" Every time she asked me this question I asked her if that is how my hair was cut. Every time she answered no. I kept reiterating that I want the same cut I had only shorter. She gave me a completely different haircut. Now I look like a Q-tip because she cut and layered my hair too much. She seems to clip her shears to imitate Edward Scissorhands, a lot of seemingly unnecessary clipping. My session with her later liner than my normal haircut. The whole time watching her I kept thinking, "Oh my God, what the heck is she doing? Should I just do get now? Maybe it'll be okay. Just stay calm and stop freaking out." Because she's right-handed, the right side of your head will get a better cut than the left side. The left side will get a "good effort" cut. I cannot believe she's been cutting hair for EIGHT YEARS!!! Does not reflect in her work AT ALL! See Momilani if you can. Great first time experience for a shampoo, cut, and style with Sarah. Quickly downloaded the free app where I could see wait times, checked in via the app as I left my house, got there early and they were able to take me right away. Sarah gave me an awesome head massage/shampoo then cut my hair beautifully with long layers and then styled it. It was so relaxing and I walked out feeling like I had celebrity worthy locks. Quoc, he's the first chair on the left and I love this guy. I see him every 2 weeks like clockwork and he knows exactly how to cut my hair. His service is great, he remembers everyone's name, and he never makes you feel rushed. I can't remember a cut from this guy I havn't been happy about. Plus, great clips is always running special! We are new to the island and went to the Great Clips in CO with great success so I decided to give this new location a try. We had Scotty and he did a great job with my son's hair. Son wants his hair cut like Dan TDM from Youtube but has a stubborn part. Scotty was able to give him a "gentleman's haircut" that will work with his natural parts and cowlicks. The only reason I'm giving it 4 rather than 5 stars is this was our only visit but Scotty was 5 star for sure! read more

My hair was massacred. I asked for a trim, and she chopped off 2 inches. She also left a section of bangs that were 1 inch long. I wrote the company and their response was that it wasn't there problem due to them being a franchise. They told me that someone from the salon would call me, but nobody has ever contacted me. Words can't express how unhappy I am. The staff were very nice though. Did they know what they were doing? No. My husband and I like our hair a certain way. I left paying $18 for my hair "cut". Mind you it still looks the exactly the same from when I walked in. I also wanted to thin it out. She thinned out my ends. Normally that's not how other great hair stylists do my hair. My husband, wanted a LOW fade. Ended up with a VERY HIGH fade. It's uneven all around too. The lady that cut my husbands hair you can tell had 0 experience. Like I said were picky people when it comes to our hair. My husband is upset and I'm well, irritated. But all in all, we paid, tipped and left. So I wanted to share the horror. Just had a free haircut for Veterans Day today. The barber I had just didn't care too much I can tell fro her body language because I was getting a free haircut. I asked just for a BALD HEAD... which is skin all around the whole head. She messed that up...if a barber can't even do that correctly how are they gonna be able to give other haircuts. Came out looking EXTRA STUPID WITH PATCHES of hair uncut which I could t see from the mirror but my wife saw. It's bloody expensive and junk and no care is given for veterans. read more

I thought I'll give this location a chance since I wasn't to please with the service at the Kapolei location when they opened. I needed a place that was decent and didn't have to wait long (due to me, last minute deciding to cut my hair) hair clips was a great choice for my last minute decision and cheap place. Walked in and was greeted by a lady at the front, she was nice and checked us in quickly. We waited less of what the time she told me (with the check-in online on their website we did right before walking into the doors). I told my hair stylist that I was in need of a hair cut, (since I do have A LOT OF HAIR and the last time I had a hair cut was when the Kapolei one opened) I needed to thin out my hair. At first she seemed nice talked here and there, but when her coworker was talking (I knew she was talking about me to my hair stylist about all that hair that just got trimmed off) because she didn't answer, i just so happened to look up and seen my hair stylist looking at her coworker with those looks/expressions like "I know, oh a lot of hair, omg". THAT WAS THE WHOLE REASON I WAS SO 50/50 ABOUT THIS PLACE! I knew they were going to talk bad behind my back (especially a paying customer). But what can you say paying $10.99 for a hair cut plus leaving tip (a nice amount, because I felt bad about all that hair). I was in need of a new look. I went in around 8pm and Momi worked with me. I LOVE my new look. She did a wonderful job on it and was able to get my hair to do what I wanted it to do. Giving 5 stars because there wasn't anything I'd change about my visit. The gals working were super friendly and made me feel very welcome. The wait was not long at all but of course that could change depending on time of day. The facility was clean and they made sure to clean up after each client. My Aunt and I came here. It was a great experience while I realize it might depend who you get. We were greeted immediately and asked about check-in...notified on the spot of the 30 minute wait however we were seen in around 20 mins. The 3 stylists there were all polite and funny...we had Sundance and she did a great job exactly what I wanted a short faux hawk. The other stylist (don`t know his name) did an amazing job on my Aunt`s hair and made good suggestions based on his expertise. Glad she got a better haircut than the one she chose out of the book. I think the last guy was the manager but def. greeted every customer coming in...I have been to other Great Clips in the mainland and they were soso okay so again...depends on the workers. This place is crap. The whole point of having notes on your hair cut is so that you can have the look you want. It seemed like the young lady I had today didn't have a clue what she was doing. I knew something was wrong when the barber on the opposite side of the salon was giving her strange looks. This must have been her first time and it she must have lied in her resume say she had experience. She complete disregarded the notes and cut my hair too short. She had no idea of how to blend and disregarded any notes that I had for a cut. Maybe if you are military you might be ok with it. But really this place should call its self mediocre clips. Well that's if you're lucky. This visit was just crap and will be my last. I had to give it one star simply for the limitations of the rating system. I would have given it negative 3 stars if possible. Really it seemed like a barber training center. Crap shoot if you want to get a cut here. Upon arriving on the island, I was in desperate need of a good barber. I found that and more with Mike. His skills and knowledge of hair went beyond that of any other barber that I've had before. After cutting my hair for the first time, he recommended hair products to assist my hair in growing back as I had a few spots becoming bald due to heredity. With his recommendations and cutting skills, I have a head full of hair that he's cut to perfection. I normally don't advocate or leave reviews for anyone but I had to share this experience. Once you experience his skills, you wont seek out any other barbers on island. read more

If I could give a lower rating I would, giving 1-star for having A/C. Took my son in for a hair cut, asked Sherri to take off 2 inches all around (scissors), clean up the sides & neck. Nothing fancy or too difficult. She starts with 2 inches...not 1 3/4 to start then trim to 2 inches. To get it even all around she cuts more than I asked for. Then she used the clippers for the sides & back, which is fine. But she started to cut his hair with the clippers...said she was "making it even". I told her to stop & that she cut too much already. It looks like a bowl cut! A different employee started to say...."well we can" as if it could be fixed then looked at his hair. I stopped her before she can say much. The hair is cut, can't glue it back. I told my son to get out of the chair we're leaving. They said I didn't have to pay, like that was going to happen. Never again! read more
