I went to get my son a perm this weekend, and we couldn't be more appreciative with the results! My stylist was Teresa and she was not only really skilled, but was also really nice and gentle to my son for the entire process. This review is specifically for the booking process. I called today 10:25am to make an appointment at this location and was told the soonest appointment available would be @11:00am. I told her that works perfectly. I get to the salon @10:50am and noticed the doors were locked, so I call the number again and explain to her that the door was locked and she told me I was at the back side of the salon that I needed to come to the front, so I'm walking around the building confused trying to find the "front" because she said I was in the back but there's no way to get behind the building so I call the number again and asked if the front end or the back end is facing Zippy's, she tells me " oh wait your at the pearl city location? I have you down for the Mililani Location" I told her when I looked up the salon I called the number under the pearl city location on Yelp, When I booked I even ask her if the salon was between Zippy's and old Genki Sushi and she said yeah, Then asked her if this number is under both locations and she tells me yes.. proceeds to tell me I might need to come in a little later but to hold so she can see what's available at pearl city location.. I get " oh there's nothing available today at the pearl city location " I told her that's fine I don't want an appointment anymore and hung up. When I called the 2x I was outside trying to get inside she seemed annoyed because I couldn't find a way to get inside the salon only to realize she booked me at a different location. I've been getting my hair done with Joey at Bravo Salon for years. He's always given me great service and awesome cuts and color. I have been coming to the Aiea location more often because it's quiet and a smaller salon with lots of parking. It's located in the same lot as Zippy's across from the HECO power plant. Finally found a stylist (Teresa) I can trust. I'm Filipino and in my mid 50's and never changed the color of my straight hair (black/brown) As you get older white hair starts to set in. Teresa blended the colors in to create a tone that would match your look. You can't turn back time, make simple changes to manage your hair. Ask questions to help figure out what would be best for you and the look you want. Teresa also recommended Moroccan Oil, I just love it. I called a weeks ago and asked if they helped did Hair Donations and they totally led me to believe they do. When I showed up the stylist told me I needed 18" of hair and that they do not do it. I checked with the lady at the desk and she said, "We can do it if they get enough hair." But this is not what they led me to believe on the phone when I had called a week prior. I also found it interesting that I was getting 2 different responses from people standing next to one another. I made an appointment over the phone. When I initially called, they asked me which branch I would like to get a haircut at. I said Pearl City. They confirmed my appointment over text. I arrived early and tried to call the number provided in the text, however my call didn't go through. Even after multiple times. I called the number that sent me the text, and a lovely staff answered the phone. I told her that I am checking in for my appointment, and she said to just stand by the door and they will let me in. They didn't. When it was my appointment time I went inside and told them I had an appointment. The staff proceeded to tell me that my appointment was in Mililani, and directed me to go there. It's just disappointing because I took the proper steps indicated to secure my appointment but in the end, couldn't even get a haircut. read more

I get my haircut once or twice a year and I choose to go to this salon because the location is near my home with free parking, the price is reasonable for a women's haircut, and the hairdressers are consistent in doing a good job. Had the best first time experience here. I'm usually picky with who does my hair and get so nervous about just trusting anyone. But I came here with a whatever attitude and surprising liked what I got. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and was lucky to be taken in as a walk-in. A "by appointment" service was preferred but I got lucky. There was only one person working and only one client that afternoon. Roy, the hair stylist took me in as soon as he was finished with his last client (which took about an hour). I got my hair washed, conditioned and cut and styled. I spent a little over $60 for the whole service but left feeling fabulous. Roy was cool and we definitely chatted the whole time, making time go by fast. Would I come back again? Yes! Definitely! Roy was awesome. On other days, he also teaches new and uprising hair stylists in town. So more of a reason to trust him. read more

I was in the market for a new stylist and was able to make an appointment at Bravo Salon using the Mind Body app. I made the appointment this morning and my hair is colored tonight! Love it. Jasmine colored my hair and did a wonderful job! She matched the color perfectly, she worked efficiently yet so gently, and the salon was so relaxing. The time flew by. Bravo Salon is located next to the power plant Zippy's so lots of parking available. Oh, and Jasmine also squeezed in a trim. So grateful. I don't have to go back special for a cut. I was vacationing on the North Shore and needed a root touch up and haircut. I looked around in the area and couldn't find any where so I decided to look for places outside of the area. Rob is extremely talented, but his customer service is disrespectful and intolerable. I prearranged a day prior to meet Rob at the Salon at Bravo Salon at 0830. Not only does he fail to show up at 0830, rather 0850 but he doesn't bother to call and notify the salon or me. When I asked for an explanation, the receptionist said he was in traffic. I cancelled the appointment immediately because I had another appointment quickly approaching, hence the early meeting time. This stylist and salon have a complete lack of respect for others' time. Made an online appointment which seemed super easy. Just select your service, date, time and book. Then I received a text and email to confirm. Immediately, I realized we needed to move the appointment from 3:15pm to 4:00pm. Times that were available online btw so I text the number provided in the email. Conversing with the person via text they said my appointment was a double booking so they need to reschedule. This is so irritating! I made the appointment and got confirmation. I decided to chop off my hip length locks for a short cut. I chose Bravo salon because it was a Sunday morning and I'd be in the area, a couple of my friends went there and loved it and they took walk ins. I went in around 2, two stylists were busy with clients, reception asked if I could come back at 3 PM, not a problem as the ice cream shop up the road was calling my name. I returned just before 3 and was immediately seated with Roy. I requested a short bob and additional straight bangs. I enjoyed the wash, haircut and blow dry and he even styled my hair with a flat iron. I loved the Moroccan oil used on my hair, I bought a bottle on my way out. I would be selfish if I didn't share my awesome experience with this A-team... Joey and Teresa, thank you so much for my wonderful hair experience. I have the most crazy, frizzy, thick chunk of hair any girl can have. Why haven't I done this hair straightening early?!? I was caught in a mix of doing a Brazilian blowout, straight perm, relaxer, or keratin treatment. I was scared and ignorant. There are so many options out there and Teresa does them all. Teresa knows what she's doing and made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. She suggested what's better for my hair and I'm glad she did. I've been getting my hair cut by Joey and Teresa for a long time. They used to work at separate salon companies and have finally opened a salon together! Whenever I come in, they take the time to ask how you would like your hair done, from how you want it styled, cut, curled, layered to how you want it dyed, highlighted. They always nail it. Joey is my usual hairstylist who always meets my requests. I usually ask for a trim and a little bit of layer which doesn't seem much. However, he surprises me every single time. My hair comes out a lot nicer and cleaner than how it was before! Hair styling is not the only thing they have offered here. Teresa provides eyebrow and lip waxing, which is great! Whenever I need it, she helps me clean up my eyebrows and wax my upper lips. Overall, I recommend this salon if you want quality hair styling and coloring (and eyebrow and lip waxing)! You won't regret their services. :D read more

I went to the pearl city location. I spoke with the gentlemen styling my hair what I wanted. I had a bob before but my hair is curly so I need layers so I don't have triangle head. He washes my hair, pulling while finger combing, matting it down, it was uncomfortable. I'm used to salons giving a scalp massage (I mean if you're shelling out that much money at least don't inflict pain when you wash the hair). We go back to the chair and he parts my hair not asking which way it's normally parted. He starts cutting as it's wet, it looks choppy and uneven and then proceeds to blow dry it without heat protectant, no anti frizz cream or serum, no style extender. Mind you, there's Moroccan oil all Over the place. He continues to cut while It's dry. And then attempts to blow dry it again with a round brush not giving any tension so it looks like a frizzy mess. I finally ask him if he is going to use an anti frizz and he repeated "anti frizz" And goes to ask someone else about anti frizz cream. Another lady in the salon comes up And puts Moroccan oil hydrating styling cream next to him and asks "did you put anything in her hair?" He nods impatiently to her and said "yea yea" I said "no he hasn't put anything in my hair, not a heat protectant or serum or cream" and she says " oh don't worry there's time". He stops blow drying my Hair and another gentlemen comes to style my hair to finish. He was much more personable, spoke to me and gave some suggestions. As he blow dried the rest of my hair he offered to curl it so the style would last longer. After he dried and curled it he added Moroccan oil serum to it...... while it was dry. Oils and serums weigh down the hair especially when there's humidity in the air , yes we are in Hawaii. Normally to hold a curl after straightening and doing a curling iron, a lightweight non tacky hair spray can help extend the style. Ooooor a serum or style extender prior to blow drying helps also. My hair sure as hell doesn't looks like I paid $65 for it to be cut and styled. Who knows what it'll look like natural and Curley. read more
