For probably 15 years, Tammy Messina has cut my hair, and my brother's too, although not all at its present location. Salon Messina, run by Tammy and her sister, Rina, has moved around a bit over the years, but for the past four or five years they have been located off W Us Highway 22 (extension of Montgomery Road), just past the Landen Shopping Center.
The current location, set on a large pond in Maineville, is definitely its best location, as it is really homey, cozy, and comfortable on the inside. Throw in the in the kindness, friendliness, and warmth provided Tammy, Rina, and the other hairstylist, Kathy, and you end up with a great experience at Salon Messina. The salon is located in an old house across from the Landen-Deerfield Park, and while most of their business is hair, they are set up to do offer other services such as nails.
It doesn't matter who is cutting your hair or greeting you at the reception desk because everyone that works at Salon Messina knows who you are and treats you like a friend (not a client). They always offer a complimentary Coke product or cup of coffee when you walk in the door too. I will say that they aren't always running on time (yet neither am I with Montgomery Road traffic), but that's because they spend ample time working on your hair and making sure you are satisfied with the end product. It isn't glitzy or anything, but if you want a comfortable atmosphere and a friendly, reliable, and experienced person working on your hair instead, Salon Messina can and will offer you all of that at affordable prices.
