Went here for my haircut, did the online check in process, and was amazed at how quickly they were able to take me as a walk in and not only that but knew my haircut as well as it's saved in the system. Only bad thing I could think of was that they wouldn't accept bills over $20 and that was a minor annoyance but I got that squared away. I am not afraid to say that every single time I have gone here, the hairstylists always do the exact opposite of what I tell them to. While their employees are kind, I would not recommend going here for a haircut unless you want the exact opposite of what you ask for. read more

Girl at counter said there was one person ahead of me. When 4 people were called ahead of me I asked why. She said they checked in online. When he sat in the chair they stated they were not comfortable with proceeding based on his squirminess, hacked the back and still charged me for a neck trim. I am so sad to post this. I went to get my hair cut and I was refused because I have 4 tape in hair extensions in due to my hair not growing well. I have been wearing human hair extensions for 10+ years and have been getting my hair cut here for at least 6 years, along with my daughter and boyfriend. I was told that it's the law that you can not receive a hair cut with extensions due to liability which makes since however I have been a lie to for years and was never denied a hair cut. I can not find anything online either that states this. I was told by a friend that it's up to the salon and I understand that but I'm not a new customer and I would not ask for my hair to be cut by someone I was not familiar with. Does anyone have any further info or know where I can get my hair cut? I will no longer go to great clips nor will my family read more

The worst customer service! I'm this day an age it is difficult to find a place with excellent customer service and that is no different here. The manager was rude and unwilling to correct a problem with their system. We have gone to various great clips though out the area and this is by far the worst. Head to Missouri flat or El Dorado Hills. Not worth the hassle if the manager doesn't correct wrongs. read more

The first three times I went to this shop I was very pleased. I thought they cut my sons hair just as I asked them to, and my sons actually liked it. I can't remember the name of those ladies, but they were very friendly. The last time I went into the same shop, one of the stylist was very rude. She said her name was Shay. She actually told me I can't cut your son type of hair. I am ok with her not being able to cut my sons hair if she don't feel comfortable cutting a black guys hair. I wasn't upset that she didn't feel comfortable cutting a young black guys hair, but it was how rude she was about the whole thing. It's not like we hadn't been to this shop before. The first lady who waited on us couldn't understand what a fade was, so she asked Shay. I don't think I would ever feel comfortable going back into this shop. read more

My 3 year old son has some sensory issues and has a hard time with hair cuts; the sound of the electric razor and hair dryers cause anxiety and he starts to panic. We've tried many kiddie salons, always taking the time to explain his comfort level and our needs. However, he always ends up hysterical. After a year off of hair cuts, and his hair bothering his eyes and neck, we tried this place on a whim. The stylist who greeted us, Faridah, was calm and gentle in her approach to my son. She explained to him how she'd cut his hair using only scissors, and kept talking to him throughout the hair cut, telling him what she was doing and how proud of him she was. He ended up with a great cut and was all smiles, as was I. I am SO happy to have stumbled upon such a great stylist as Faridah and will definitely be back! read more

I am very very picky about my hair being cut. I usually go to Regis or JcPennys or another hair salon and pay $30-$70 for a hair cut. However, I decided to try it out Great Clips. I was seen immediately because I checked in. Kyra was my hair stylist. Amazing woman!!! I told her what I wanted and she did EXACTLY that!!! She actually did better than I expected. She listened to my wants. It's hard to find a stylist to do that! She is fantabulous! Go see her! She is amazing and she will make you feel confident about your hair. If your anything like me and scared to get a hair cut. Trust me. She will build that confidence in you and you will stop paying the $30-$60 for a hair cut! I went here after my Barber I'd gone to since I was in 6th grade retired. I was apprehensive as society places a lot of importance on looks and so I wanted to have my hair done just right. Just kidding, I'm a guy with a buzz cut. But still, I was apprehensive having grown accustomed to showing up, and "Good ol' Joe" knowing my name and haircut. One usually equates nerve troubles with combat, or work stress not with a hair cut and thanks to the very talented Leah who had me registered, and in a chair within 5 minutes, and out the door in 19 minutes with a great hair cut and nerves unstressed! She was quick, paid close attention to detail, asked questions about how I wanted certain aspect of the cut before she started vs during, and kept the conversation light, but pleasant and non political unlike some barber shops I see on the HBO who want you to use your experience with political debate garnished there over two seasons to launch a candidacy for state governor. I would highly recommend this place to men who's stoic elderly barber is about to retire and you are stuck with a mess of hair and no idea what to do with it: Call the Great Clips in Cameron Park. read more

When asked to fix the cut, she did so, however, every time she touched his head, his hair it looked worse. I could do better with my clippers at home. read more

The staff are friendly and welcoming. They remember you. It's always nice! Best part? They never mess up. They really take their time to ensure your cut is exactly what you want. Went in a few weeks ago one afternoon. They didn't look that busy but the online check in had me waiting about 40 min. While online check ins kept being served first. That was not too bad live & learn. My main issue is the overall experience of the haircut. The lady that cut my hair had just gotten back from her break and smelled like an ashtray! Tried Placerville location first, it was a total fail so we left and came to Cameron Park location. Walked in and was immediately greeted and welcomed. WHEW! What a relief! A business that actually wants our business! No wait time for either of us. Husband got his hair cut by Shea, she was friendly and done exactly what he wanted. I got my hair cut by Kyra- she was super sweet and even had suggestions for making my hair even better than I wanted. We will be going back to these ladies!
