The food here is a hit and miss every time I go. I say every time, but I went only 3 times... I will not be dining or getting take out here ever again, because I found better!! The General Tao Chicken sauce was way too watery, which wasn't like that the first time I ate there. Fried dumplings were okay, dipping sauce is absolutely rancid. Lo Mein is a disgrace, can taste their poor water quality in every bite, and poorly seasoned. Oh, their food portions are absolutely ridiculous, SMALL!!! Overall all their foods aftertaste is like dirty dishes. The servers and front staff cannot stop gossiping amongst themselves to give you proper service, more eager to get back to their conversations and loud. Dining area really gloomy and adds to the bad taste of food. I will no longer waste my hard earned cash here, the place I highly recommend is "Taste of China Xpress." read more

I challenge the system and went in at lunch. The takeout line was forming but seemed seamless. Straight back and sit where I wanted - the booths were taken. Was only there a minute or two and server took my sweet tea order. She brought the tea and ordered a twice cooked pork I haven't had in years. My Egg Drop Soup showed up and I started to savor it. Then the Egg Roll and the meal piled high. I didn't mention the soup (choice of 3) and the egg roll came with the meal price. Choice of rice menu indicated some changes will cost more ($3). Get the dinner egg rolls, best in town. One of the few remaining Chinese restaurants that hand makes egg rolls. I'm a big fan of the Mongolian and lo mein. read more

Went there with 2 others for the lunch specials. We had Moo Goo GI Pan, chicken teriyaki, and for me my ubiquitous shrimp with lobster sauce. All lunch specials include choice of rice (fried or white), egg roll, and choice of soup; I had the hot and sour soup. If the patron does not want the soup, a second egg roll is an option. The service left me disheartened. The host/waitperson appeared disinterested in seating our party, nudged his head in a direction, and told us to "sit over there."Furthermore, after waiting for our waiter to take our drink order, we had to go to the cashier's front desk to order our drinks. Afterward, other parties were seated, and an additional person was added to the floor, who took their orders while our wait person ignored us. After some time, we finally had our order taken, but an additional 45 minutes passed with no food in sight. We inquired about when our food would be served and were told it would be soon. Multiple parties came and left, and we were still waiting for our food. Only two were in our party. The overall service was horrendous. The food was cold when it arrived. I will not be back. Great China must monitor and employ competent wait staff if it wants to stay in business. read more

We moved here last May. With no kitchen stuff arriving to our new home yet we ate a lot of take out. One of our first meals was from here and it was delicious! Fast forward 6 months later we Happily ordered from here and picked up our food. Szechuan Beef, Kung Pao shrimp, egg rolls and steamed rice. At least the rice was edible. The food was Disgusting. Stale, over-cooked slop. Ridiculously huge egg rolls that were not fresh made and probably sitting reheated on a warmer or steam table from yesterday. Precooked tiny shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. Vegetables were all beyond mushy. What are they doing? Riding the coat-tails of the previous legacy owners who SOLD this restaurant earlier this year. They no longer have the excellent staff and cooks. The ingredients are cheap, premade, frozen and all taste the same. I'm sure there are gallons of 'Chinese' sauce they dump on everything. Nobody wants or expects eggrolls the size of burritos. Nobody. Another tidbit is the information that is referenced on google searches IS NOT this place. It is their MUCH BETTER competition. They probably know this and are too stupid to realize they are setting themselves up for a lawsuit. The same Yelp link also automatically populates your phone as a contact and again the incorrect information does not point to this place. They lied when I complained on the phone that there was not the same cook as last time. It's not and hasn't been for months. Don't ever eat this crap food. I'm sorry it's no longer the same place many locals fondly remember from their childhood. They were also only going to refund my money if I BROUGHT THE FOOD BACK!! Seriously? I ordered the happy go lucky with some other American foods. The Happy go lucky tastes like it came from a steam table buffett. The shrimp was overcooked and the vegetables were mushy like it was in a stew. The fried wing and shrimp were okay. However, it seems they are precooking the fried rice in large batches and it tastes scorched from sitting in a warmer. If we wanted buffett food then we would go to a buffett. read more

You should take note, the good reviews were from more than 6 mo ago. Don't go by the older reviews. Something has change with the recipes and quality of the food and the preparation of the food and thus the restaurant has gone downhill. I would recommend finding another place for Chinese food until they figure out what they are doing. Don't waste your money Or ruin your appetite when you're craving Chinese food by going here. I hate giving bad reviews but thank goodness nowadays we can warn each other when something is really not worth your money or even worse, ruins your night. This was a go to when I visited Beaumont for work. I lived in the northeast for a longtime and the style of Chinese food here is similar to what I had always liked there. However, over the last few visits the food has steadily dropped in quality. They are still busy and it is still better than most places, just not 5 star anymore. Every time we go there's a line for people waiting on their Togo orders, that's how good the food is. The decor is very nice. Wish there were more booths though. And out of the many years we've eaten there, I can't say that we've ever had a friendly waiter/waitress. The staff seems so serious, maybe overwhelmed with the amount of work that they have to do? I like the shrimp fried rice, it is very plentiful, not greasy and the shrimp are plentiful. I also like the egg rolls the vegetable and the shrimp. I tried the wontons but they were not good to me the cream cheese had a funny taste. It seems as though they added something to the cream cheese (what I don't know). Ive had the noodles with vegetables now this was really good and very, very, very plentiful. It was not greasy or salty. That's all I've tried from them. Food used to be great and fair priced. However with the change of owners the quality has decreased a bit.

Love their spring roles, I frequently pick them up to go on the way home. Their fried rice is great too, huge sizes.

Love this place, best egg rolls, and lomien I've ever had. Very busy place, I suggest you place your order early.
