Go here right now. Stop reading this review and start driving! Or all and place your order! I travel the country and finding this gem was great! The inside is small and sorta "buffet" style. You can get anything they have out immediately or order something different, but will need to wait while they make it fresh. The prices are the lowest I have ever seen ever. The amount of food is more than generous! The food was great, loved the egg roll! The owner was so sweet and let us try many things which was all amazing. I highly reccomend this place!

This place is great always clean and front staff very nice. Can't beat the quality of food. Always fresh and hot. They fill your plate up with a lot of food for 5 bucks! That gets you 2 meats and side! Hidden gem of a place!

All this plus drink was just $6!

Beef and broccoli, stir fried veggies, fried rice and a drink for $6! This restaurant used to be in Parkdale Mall in Beaumont but they closed that location and now they're at their new location. These are very nice people the food is tasty and fresh. If you want something that is on the steamer tray but you want fresh cooked up they will do that for you. I got the combo one broccoli beef. It came with fried rice and steamed vegetables and a drink and it was just $6. This is very near to baptist hospital and the Conns corporate office so this is a very good stop when you're looking for something good to eat on your lunch break.

I got the rice bowl special - 1 entree (chicken) and 1 side (fried rice) for 3.99.

The food it's okay and price is good. I personally don't like chicken thighs and that's what all the chicken was.

Layne's Chicken Fingers

Layne's Chicken Fingers

I had a cheese sandwich combo and fries. My colleague enjoyed the kid's meal with three small…read morechicken fingers

There's a new kid in town, his name is Layne, let's give him a little love…read more The Hunny and I did that, we went to see how good Layne's Chicken Fingers is. First, it's at a competitive location. Chick-fil-A is very close to the freeway exit, and Raising Cane's is across the street. And that's just the chicken. The short distance between I-10 and 11th Street has a lot of places to eat, including a Dairy Queen. Time will tell how well Layne's does. The food is pretty good, right about at Cane's level. The chicken fingers are smaller, which works out for people with smaller appetites. The Hunny had regular and I had spicy, we both enjoyed our meals. She had hers inside two slices of Texas toast, and they kept falling out. Several sauces are available: honey mustard (me), buttermilk ranch (her), BBQ, Layne's special, I forget the other. Or you can do like I did and douse the chicken with Cholula. So, pretty good, not all that memorable. It's certainly not bad, and the price is good. But Chick-fil-A has a larger selection, and is better funded with so many restaurants nationwide. And Cane's has a quirky character that stands out from the rest. Compared to them, Layne's has joined the crowd like a minor political party among the Democrats and Republicans, shouting "Hey! Look at me! I'm here too!" It doesn't have the distinctives of either Chick-fil-A or Cane's, but I think it can still succeed. Go ahead and stop by, you should like what you get.

Truth Lounge & Bistro - Salad with salmon bites

I'm talking about the one that is gaining a lot of attention, Truth Lounge and Bistro, located at 672 Orleans St. The name of this restaurant does not lie. Their food is GREAT and that's the TRUTH! Over the top flavor in every savory bite. Luscious and delectable, you will not disagree. This place SLAPS!! Everything from the fried fish, chicken, steaks, burgers, oxtails, and I must also add the healthy delicious salads... are full of that soul food southern flavor that will grab you on the first bite (menu pic included). They load your plate with food that is enough for two meals or share it with someone else. This is Real Soul Food Here!! The restaurant is rather small, with about ten tables and four chairs at each. There is a full-service bar and flat-screen televisions on the wall. Where they lack in size they make up with flavor. There were three of us in our party and we dined in. The atmosphere was inviting, friendly, and even a bit cozy. Beverly was our waitress and she was attentive to every detail and request. It was cornbread bowl day, and if you don't know, you will when I finish. It is a ring of sweet honey cornbread with a protein of your choice and two or three sides cuddled right in the middle. The proteins include lamb chops, roast, chicken, or fish. The sides include yams, collard greens, mac & cheese, pinto beans, green beans, or baked beans. My two lunch friends ordered the cornbread bowls. One was the cornbread bowl with fried chicken (OMG), mac & cheese, and green beans. My other friend ordered a vegetarian bowl with cabbage, yams, and mac & cheese. I ordered a salad with salmon bites, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, and a side of ranch. It was beautiful to look at and even better to eat. Freshness and flavor throughout this beautiful and savory salad. I would order it again. We had an amazing and fun time, our plates were filled to capacity. You better bring your appetite when you go to TRUTH because you will need it to finish all the food they pile on your plate. You definitely get your money's worth. Please give Truth a try and you can Thank Me Later! Tell them you saw it on Best Bites. What have you enjoyed at Truth Lounge & Bistro?
