This is a terrible place. I ordered through Uber Eats. They added an egg roll order that I didn't want and charged me for it. The sweet & sour pork had 5 pieces of meat then a ton of steamed vegetables. Very little meat and steamed, not woked vegetables? Oh, and the generals chicken was not only the worst I've ever tasted it was one of the worst food I've ever tasted. Couldn't stomach more than 4 bites and through the rest away. If you are looking for the best, cheap, no frills, delicious takeout chinese food, then this is the place to go! I've been going to general wok since before 2007 and by the grace of God it is still alive. Perhaps I'm a little nostalgic, but I always go here every time I visit Beaumont. Their sweet and sour chicken is the BEST and their sauce is the perfect sweet and sour. No place has ever come close. The egg drop also amazing. I like their mongolian beef as well but my favorite is definitely the sweet and sour chicken. If you're looking for a fancy high quality chinese restaurant, then this might not be for you. We have been eating at this restaurant since they opened I guess 20 years or more ago. We usually always get it to go. The vegetable fried rice order is a lot that two could split it. The egg rolls are great. Tonight we added pepper steak to our order and it was very good. They make their own sweet red sauce, which we dip our egg rolls in. The red sauce is really good also. The price is reasonable and the food is fresh made when you order. I would not put this in the class of a P F Chang, but I don't think you will be disappointed with the price and quality. I do add some salt to my meals because they don't over salt here. My review is for the taste of the food and not the building. It is in a Great part of the city. General Wok is your average Wok type restaurant. All of the menu items are cooked fresh and its a great place for a cheap meal fast. The best thing to get here is the C14 which isn't actually on the menu. The menu stops at C13, the C14 however is the combination Lo-Mein so you get beef shrimp chicken and a little bit of everything else and you get a heaping portion. Another great Item is the sweet and sour pork I swear the pork here is cooked exactly like my grandpa does it and its great to dip in the sweet and sour sauce. read more

Went to the drive through on a friday and i got triple charged by this establishment for one visit days later as well as the day off. Called to talk to a manager who was extremely rude. I utilized the pick up services of General Wok and they were very efficient and well mannered. The downside of this visit was the food. It was played like normal Chinese food but the meat and flavor was extremely bland. There rice not as much but I ordered teriyaki chicken and the sauce lacked in flavor. The chicken as well. Had General Tso's Chicken today.. They used to be so much better. The pieces of chicken were very thin and I'd have to say 75% batter and up to 25% chicken. Don't know what's happened to them. I'll be sticking to safe things if I go there again that can't hide awfulness under batter .. yeah, the eggrolls are pretty good, Jack-in-the-Box is better for those in Beaumont though. We eat here fairly often and we have never been unhappy with our choice. It is a much needed change from the Chinese buffets. The food is cooked to order so it is always piping hot and fresh. I really don't have a favorite here because everything I have ever had was very good. read more

Love this little gem. My favorite dish isA-10 Garlic Shrimp. I always specify adding extra-extra (2X) shrimp, extra spicy. It's redolent of garlic and onions with red peppers and fresh brocolli florets, bell peppers and carrots cut on the bias. Love it! read more

Tbh, terrible customer service. The food is pretty cool but lemme tell you, I was having the WORST week and I just wanted to eat my feelings away so I came through the drive through. Anyways. This lady through the speaker was trying to tell me the difference between chow mein and lo mein and I was like "yea the chow mein" and I couldn't really hear her so I thought she said the chow mein were the noodles. When I got the window i was like "this is the noodles right?" And she looked at me super annoyed and was like "no, that's what I was trying to clear up with you in the speaker the chow mein isnt noodles" and gave me a hella mean attitude and like listen, I could barely hear her through the speaker and with me being already sad I just started crying lmaoooo.
