I really needed an oil change and tire rotation and chose Grease Monkey on Bell based on Google & Yelp reviews. I was greeted right away, explained what my needs were, and Thad did his best to reassure me that I would be well taken care of, they would show me all parts before replacing, and would not try to upsell me. He also said they have bays in back with mechanics to do other work when I need it. I did need a few other things (rear brake light, wiper blades, cabin filter) and each time someone came in to get my approval. I had no idea my wiper blades would shred in the heat! If it's raining, I'm more likely to be standing outside letting it hit me in the face than going for a drive. They were very patient in getting me every discount they could. Coupon codes from the website AND a senior discount! In and out in less than an hour, including wait time to get my car in the bay. The website did mention a carwash, which they don't have at this location, but that was not a deal breaker at all. Got my air/ cabin filters along with transmission oil change. The mechanic, Jimmy was communicative about what he noticed and if I wanted the service. He also mentioned my battery was not starting so he for that ordered for me too. The battery price was a bit more than what I was used to at Costco, but overall glad he was able to get me in and out safely especially on knowing cars can be tricky and didn't want to be caught calling a tow truck. The location was not busy, and I confirmed with the employees that they were open before having my vehicle serviced. I had recently been to the beach and specifically asked for the interior of my vehicle to be vacuumed because of the sand. When the service was completed, I immediately noticed that a considerable amount of sand was still left throughout the vehicle. Including dog hair. I brought this to the employees' attention, but no one offered to finish vacuuming or correct the problem. More concerning, I discovered a scratch on my leather seat that I believe occurred while my vehicle was being serviced. I take very good care of my vehicle, and this damage was extremely upsetting. I asked to speak with the manager, Juan, because I was concerned about both the incomplete service and the damage. Unfortunately, his response was even more disappointing than the service itself. Rather than showing concern or attempting to resolve the situation, I found him dismissive, arrogant, and lacking in basic customer service. When I asked for his last name so I could properly document the incident, he refused to provide it. I was not asking for anything unreasonable. I expected the service I paid for to be completed properly and, more importantly, for my concerns about damage to my vehicle to be taken seriously and handled professionally. I assume that I'm being told the truth, however we took the car to get two second opinions on the tires, and both agreed I did not need 4, and only needed 2. I also went out of my way to find the most cost effective option for a serpentine belt--I took it to a mechanic, and as he was looking at the old belt, he showed me that there was, in fact, nothing wrong with the original belt. It didn't have any fading or cracks, and he showed me the old and new one side by side. Since I already had purchased the part, I said just go ahead and put it on, so Express Oil Change and Tire company cost me an unnecessary $100 service charge, and then a $45 part. Not to mention you're taking time out of my day, telling me that I need to go fix these things.
