I needed my oil changed like STAT! They close at 6pm. I called them at 5:05pm. I was 5 minutes away. They told me to come on. The employees were so nice and professional. As the review by Dash S. dated 4/11/2024, I went for a state inspection. I also was showed both filters and was told it would cost $57 to replace them. The cabin filter was disgusting. However, I DID NOT ask them to go through my car and check my filters. I get very upset when people play "dialing for dollars" when I go for an inspection or alignment. If I knew they would pull this nonsense, I would have told them in advance hands off Now the worst part. I checked my air filter. It is as good as new. It has been in the car less than 6 months. As far as the cabin filter, I purchased two new ones on Amazon for $14 and installed it in less than 5 minutes. The irony is that I went here because I am tired of Firestone playing the same game. Bad service not professional and with 2 cars in bay and one in front told me to back up it would be and hour or more so I left .

The staff was very attentive including the manager, Robert. The prices were reasonable too. I enjoyed some of their great coffee as I waited for my car to be serviced. Everyone is very friendly as well. I highly recommend this place to have your car or truck serviced. read more

Everyone was very nice and professional. My car was serviced quickly. I originally went in for brake pads. I ended up needing back brakes and rotors. I was called and advised on the best route to take. Once I agreed. It was completed. The price was not outrageous and I didn't feel like I was being overcharged because I'm a woman. I visited Grease Monkey on April 5, 2024, for a state inspection. I did not request any service beyond a state inspection. With neither my request nor consent, the technicians removed both the engine air filter and cabin air filter. The technicians showed me the filters and recommended replacement. Grease Monkey quoted $84.00 to replace both filters. Having completed these replacements before, I declined. I purchased both the cabin and engine air filters for $38.00 and performed the replacements. It took five minutes to replace each filter. While performing the cabin air filter replacement, I discovered that three plastic tabs had been broken. The broken tabs, located on the filter cover and glove box, do not affect the system function. Because the system function is unaffected, replacing either the filter cover or the glove box would be a waste. Having a vehicle damaged during unrequested maintenance is unacceptable. I would neither recommend Grease Monkey nor will I allow the company to inspect, or maintain, my vehicles. read more

I didn't get my oil changed here. I didn't get any service done at all. THAT'S the reason I am giving them 5 stars. I've been to other places in town, one right down the road, where they tried to swindle my daughter into a brake job on a car with 20k miles. When you take a car in to be serviced, you have to trust the people you take it to. Who knows what the flitzenblubber valve does or when it need replacing. I'm relying on the guy under the car. When I took a car that had been sitting a while in my driveway to Grease Monkey, I found the place I'll take all my cars. I pulled around back and the technician came out to the car. I told him I needed an oil change. He looked at my odometer, and the sticker from the charlatans at the previously mentioned place, and told me I didn't need one because I still had 3000 miles. I replied that it had been several months and probably needed to be changed anyway. Then the guy whose name I wish I had the presence of mind to ask made a customer forever. He told me that I had synthetic oil which has no shelf life, and I could wait. Ahhhhhhh...honesty in car service. Grease Monkey lost the revenue from one oil change but gained every oil change and car service job I have until they prove me wrong. read more

The website says they are using COVID-19 precautions and booking appointments. I booked an appointment online for 3/27/20 at 3pm. Upon arrival there was no sign of any type of precautions being taken by the staff, and was told that there was four cars ahead of me they just arrived. They do not take appointments even though the website with their direct address on it said they did. I was also told that they have not been busy all day and suddenly all this car showed up but sorry I'd have to wait. I'm a healthcare worker And have a very tight schedule, I just didn't have time to wait. So I went somewhere else that was not busy and was not putting me in jeopardy of coming in contact with too many people. read more

I've been to Grease Monkey twice within the past 30 days & really wish I could say I was satisfied, but I really wasn't. The first time I just needed an oil change, but I was neither greeted with my name nor given the mechanic's name. The man wasn't rude, but first impressions count for a lot. The oil change was completed & I went on my way. I then had a check engine light issue & needed a back wiper blade replaced. The engine light was reset at no charge, but I was given new front wiper blades only. It was my fault I didn't pay attention, but I was really disappointed that I left with the same issue I had when I arrived. The 2nd guy was named Chris & though he seemed nice, he didnt even check the computer for details about my appointment, so I had to tell him what I needed. I will also add that while most customers there wore masks, not one employee had on a mask. It's disappointing that I'll have to find another place for tune-ups because this place was very convenient. read more

I love this Grease Monkey location! I have been using them for years for oil changes, inspections and myriad other things. They have always been friendly and fast. Tonight I truly got a glimpse of what awesome people own this family run business. I had a tire blow out as I was turning off lawndale and theirs was the closest driveway I could pull into. It was just past 6pm and I knew they were closed but parked in front to call my auto club roadside assistance. After a few minutes of my sitting there Robert and his wife came out and helped me find my spare, change my tire and sent me on my way. They wouldn't accept payment and stayed after closing to help a girl out when they absolutely didn't have too. It's so nice to know there are still good decent people around when you need a helping hand. I'll be sure to recommend them to anyone needing car service! read more

Never again! Was taking our vehicle here and the one time I needed an oil change for a big trip, almost turned out to ruin my motor. Was on our way of NC when I started smelling gas in the SUV, then my "oil pressure low light" came one. I'm thinking we just got an oil change yesterday pulled into an Auto advanced and almost no oil in the vehicle. Apparently some fault filter put on had broke. I got oil all in my garage. Luckily, was able to get yet another change and get to our trip safely. But, it would have been a matter of time before my motor would have messed up. They were nice with my husband and refunded our money. However, we will not be returning here to service our vehicles. read more

I have been coming to them for years now, through the evolution of at least 4 cars, and they have always been great. Of most importance to me is that they never performed a requested service and then attempted to pressure me into buying another service that would inflate my cost. They have informed me when they did observe an issue and passed the info on to me more as an "FYI, we want to make you aware of this," message. I trust them and that is a rare quality to have in the automotive services industry. read more

I absolutely hate car inspection time. The waiting forever and the "oh you passed but we noticed x,y,z is wrong with the car for a fee we can fix it now" So when I went to Grease Monkey I was prepared for it...I even brought a book. Um they were done in less than 10mins. No guess what we found junk. My wipers needed to be replaced but I had an idea they might before I went. (it rained the night before and the wipers didn't a do great job). Plus they charged less than the big name parts stores and put them on. I have found the only place I am ever going to from now on. I stopped here in desperate need of an oil change. I just moved to Greensboro and someone suggested merchants, but apparently they are slammed this week. So I remembered seeing this place and it was close to work. Overall, it was a good experience. The guys were nice and it didn't take too long. I pull up to get an inspection and they instantly state "I'll have to fail it because mirror tent is illegal." All mirror tent in NC is not illegal! When I told him this, he dismissed me as if I was ignorant. Informed me I'd have to go get an illegal inspection! I promptly took my business elsewhere, legally. I don't want someone who doesn't know the Laws of my state doing a state inspection. read more

The quality of service is good. However, their prices have sky rocketed since when they first started - I also feel that they sometimes want to service your vehicle for non-urgent items. When these guys suggest I get something done right away, I tell them no and take it to a friend-mechanic who says that really doesn't have to be done anytime soon! I would rather go here than the dealer because i trust them that much. The whole staff is friendly and even fixed my tubing for the windshield fluid for no charge. Again i was told by dealer it would be about $100. Even when you wait they actually take a few dollars off without me having to ask. I will continue to patronize this site.
