I want to start off by saying the manager Joaquin is truly amazing. When I called Joaquin was very eager to help and have the vehicle checked out. Upon bring my vehicle there he let me know that due to how the cars panels hung down they were not able to lift it and did not want to take a risk on breaking anything. He offered to use a floor jack to at least be able to check the front brakes. Him and his staff were very friendly and eager to help out. I drive an electric vehicle so there is not really much to service but anyone who does drive a gas/hybrid vehicle should definitely see Joaquin and his team. Thank you again guys for everything you did and going that extra mile to ensure I was taken care of.

I spent about an hour at Fort Collins Muffler & Automotive, and what I experienced--and…read morewitnessed--was unacceptable. From the start, customers were treated in a dismissive, defensive, and at times openly disrespectful manner. Multiple customers asked simple, reasonable questions about pricing, labor, or what work was being done. Instead of clear answers, they were met with vague responses, attitude, and an unwillingness to explain charges. On more than one occasion, it was essentially communicated that if customers didn't like the pricing or how things were handled, they could go somewhere else. It became clear this business takes advantage of the fact that most customers are not mechanics. Pricing lacked transparency, explanations were avoided, and there was little effort to help customers understand what they were paying for. The most disturbing part--and the main reason I am writing this--was how a young female customer (who appeared to be a Colorado State University student) was treated. When she asked basic questions about her vehicle and potential repairs, she was dismissed and talked down to. She was told to wait and that everything would be explained later, without being given the respect of understanding what was happening in the moment. The interaction came across as sexist and demeaning. It was uncomfortable to witness and completely inappropriate. No customer should be made to feel they don't deserve to understand what is being done to their own vehicle. This was not isolated. In just one hour, I observed multiple customers being treated poorly, suggesting a consistent pattern. Any business has the right to operate as it chooses. But customers have the right to transparency, respect, and to not be treated in a dismissive or sexist manner. I would strongly recommend others proceed with caution and consider shops where professionalism, communication, and respect are standard.

Hey everybody -- we hate having to make posts like this, but we're dealing with a nightmare…read moresituation and could really use some advice, and we'd also hate for anyone else to experience this. Yesterday we took our work truck to the local Costa Oil for a routine oil change. This is a vehicle we've had serviced many times before, including oil changes, with no prior issues. During the service, the technician was unable to remove the dipstick and aggressively pulled it out, damaging the dipstick tube in the process. He then handed it to us as if it didn't belong there and spent roughly 10-15 minutes pulling, twisting, and yanking on the tube with pliers. When he realized it wouldn't come out, he forced it back in, told us we were "good to go," and handed us the owner's card. After leaving, we immediately contacted our mechanic, who advised that the dipstick tube should never be yanked or hammered--especially once damaged--because it compromises the seal and can cause further internal engine damage. While it isn't leaking yet, he strongly recommended parking the truck until the part is replaced to avoid a much bigger failure. Unfortunately, this part must be ordered directly from Ford or a distributor, with the earliest availability being about four days out. As many of you know, we're a local small business just trying to survive the slow season. Parking our work truck, covering parts and labor, expedited shipping, and losing four days of work is something we simply can't afford. We contacted the shop owner, and after reviewing the footage and speaking with the manager, he acknowledged via text that the technician aggressively pulled the dipstick, causing the damage. However, he is refusing responsibility and citing vehicle mileage as the reason, despite the damage occurring in his shop by his employee. We've asked multiple times for their insurance information so we can file a claim and have not received it. At this point, our only remaining option appears to be small claims court. We're posting this to make others aware and to ask for advice on how to best handle this situation. We understand mistakes happen, but taking responsibility when they do matters--especially when a small business is directly impacted.

We were over 2,000 miles away from home when the check engine light came on in my diesel truck. As anyone who owns a diesel knows, that's not something you want to see when you're far from home and facing a long drive back. I was stressed and worried about whether we would make it home safely. The team at CBA got us in quickly, took the time to thoroughly diagnose the issue, and patiently explained everything they found. More importantly, they gave me peace of mind by assuring me that my truck was in good shape to make the trip home. That reassurance meant more than they probably realize. What truly stood out was how they treated us as people, not just customers. They provided a shuttle ride for us to a local restaurant while they inspected the truck and then picked us up afterward. When it was all said and done, they didn't charge me a single dime for their time, diagnosis, or assistance. In today's world, it's easy to become cynical, but experiences like this remind me that there are still honest, hardworking, God-fearing people who genuinely care about doing the right thing. The integrity, generosity, and kindness shown by the entire team left a lasting impression on us. Thank you, CBA Fort Collins, for taking care of us when we were far from home and for turning a stressful situation into a blessing. We will never forget it, and I highly recommend your shop to anyone looking for honest mechanics and exceptional service.

I will no longer be using CBA for any further work all because of David at the Foco location. For…read moresome back story, I replaced my brakes at this location in March 2025 because my sister and I have been going to CBA for years. I had a great experience. Since then I have moved to Johnstown so four months ago when I needed an oil change I thought I would go to the Berthoud location because I thought they would be just as great as this location. Wrong. They were horribly rude to me and I questioned if I would ever come back to a CBA at all but I remembered the FoCo location was always so kind to me. Wednesday 7/29/26 I called and scheduled an appointment for a COURTESY INSPECTION because my brakes have been grinding after only a year. I had the unfortunate pleasure to get paired up with David. I told him about my Berthoud experience and he seemed really bothered. He told me that was his very close friend and he personally trained him and proceeded to ask a ton of questions before taking my car back for the inspection. I also added an oil change. 30 minutes later David comes back with the inspection paperwork in hand and tells me he can't figure out what's wrong with the brakes but they are metal on metal and I just need to replace them. I ask him if he knew what caused them to grind down so aggressively after only a year? I only city drive between FoCo and Loveland and I have been to Denver twice since replacing my brakes. He told me they don't know and couldn't figure it out either, but the inspection was done and the only thing he could do was give me a small coupon for replacement. I told him I didn't feel comfortable having him replace my brakes a second time if he couldn't tell me what the issue with them was. He said they couldn't figure it out during the inspection and asked if when I go to another shop if I could call him back to let him know what the issue is. Excuse me????? Absolutely not. I left and decided to go to another shop. I grabbed the paperwork David had given me to show them the inspection report and photos and guess what? IT SAYS CUSTOMER DECLINED COUTESY INSPECTION. How did I decline a service I scheduled an appointment for? I was so angry I had to wait several days to post this review to remain more professional. This was a horrible experience and David is 100% the reason I will never come back.
