I can't even put into words how good this place really is !…read more We've driven past it many times, as we live jsut around the corner and have never paid much attention to it ... possibly put off by the bright pink exterior ! However, after eating many times at Regional Thai in Cheam which is by far the best Thai restaurant I've ever eaten in, outside of Thailand - we found out that Max's Thai Cooking is owned by the very same 2 ladies who founded and own Regional Thai in Cheam. So, we booked a table there for Valentine's Day and were blown away as soon as we walked through the door. It's a REAL hidden gem of a place. The interior is lovely, really well done and you totally forget that you're in Wallington whilst in there. The food is ridiculously good and really reasonably priced ... couldn't believe that a meal for 2 with a bottle of cava was so reasonable. For anyone looking for a good Thai restaurant in Croydon or Sutton ... you've jsut found your place ! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Thanks, Andy P.

I've eaten in many a thai restaurant all over the world and never in a million years did I expect to find the best one out of the lot right on my doorstep in humble old Wallington! I've been 3 times since and can't wait to go back again. I highly recommend the "Honey Jumbo Prawns" dish, it literally melts in your mouth and the flavour is just sensational. So pleased to have found this.

The eateries range from Thai, Italian, Caribbean, deserts, meat, veggie. The vibe is always relaxed and they do a variety of different events. The environment is always clean and there are never (I've never seen one) any drunks knocking about the place. You can work from there in an afternoon and work into the early evening meet colleagues and have something to eat and drink and reminisce. The other great thing is it's right next to East Croydon train station easy access to teams and taxi ranks, what more could you need!!

Before Boxpark opened, the best thing Croydon had going on for itself was probably the East Croydon…read morestation... to which Boxpark is now literally adjacent. (You can walk in just seconds after tapping out at a ticket barrier.) I don't think Croydon will become the Shoreditch of zone 5 anytime soon, but it seems like Boxpark will definitely spice up the local food scene. If you're a fan of food trucks, you'll love the concept here. But instead of kitchens on wheels, imagine actual storefronts serving up street food. The hardest part of your meal will be deciding what to eat because more than 30 eateries call Boxpark home. (Some restaurants also have street entrances.) Boxpark is made up of repurposed shipping containers -- this gives it a cool industrial vibe, but it isn't an obnoxious hipster atmosphere that would alienate anyone. But if you're eating in, note that it can get a little loud. I'd recommend the chicken schwarma wrap with lightly spiced fries from Lazeez (this meal was the only thing I could stomach during my jet lag-induced nausea) and the fried chicken bao from Bao Bao. However, expect food truck prices (read: high prices that don't justify the amount of food you get) but that might just be something that comes with the territory in London.

Amazing food! I love Indo-Chinese food and a family member recommended this restaurant for lunch…read more The staff is extremely friendly and the place has a great ambience. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and that gave us a variety of items to pick from. I don't like overly spicy food but found the dishes marked with two chilis reasonably spicy and very flavorful. Great lunch time experience!

TL;DR Delicious, and very accomodating!…read more I went for my work's Christmas do. Food was from a set menu and waiters gave us several carafes of water, which were constantly refilled. There were also jugs of coke and lemonade which they would walk around and pour for us. All this was free, but we had to pay for alcohol. A few tried to set individual tabs for themselves However, there were roughly 20 of us and 8 individuals wanting individual tabs. That would have been a headache for the staff, so we all ended up paying for each drink of our own as we ordered it (Seemed fair to me). Heads up if you don't drink: They do a big enough range of mocktails for them to be listed on a page! They sounded good and I want to try one next time. We only had a set menu but it was all delicious (And even the stuff I personally wasn't keen on was good quality)! There was a good range of vegetarian and meaty stuff and it was all surprisingly filling. Also, I got to try some new stuff. One of the colleagues I sat next to is pregnant. She gave the food a good go, but a lot of it was too spicy for her although she said how lovely it all was. The waiter asked if she wanted some milk or yoghurt, and brought out poppadoms and mixed-veg bhajis for her ( as well as a big bowl of yoghurt) and gave her ice cream instead of the dessert we were given. She even asked for his name and a business card so she could recommend the place to her friends and family. The service was very attentive and kind. I had a Kingfisher (£3-4)and a margarita (£7). Good value for booze, I think. All in all, I'd happily suggest this place for a group do! Here's the set menu we had (In no real order and possibly excluding stuff I forgot about): Starter: Poppdoms with mango chutney; soy sauce with garlic and ginger; minty yoghurty stuff and a spicy thing. Chicken tikka (Possibly my favourite thing) Strips of some chunky fibrous vegetable in a mildly spicy coating (I believe it was potato) Firm paneer (A bit like tofu) in a sticky sweet coating with peppers Little poppadoms with chickpeas, tiny sprinkles of what looked like noodles and yoghurt and minty-yoghurty stuff and sweet sauce of some kind. They were an odd mixture of sweet and spicy. I found those a challenge to my tastebuds but they were well-made and well-presented Lamb rolls Plain naan White rice Coronas and Buds that came from nowhere (I discovered I'm not keen on Bud!) Veg manchuria A chicken curry A curry in a spicy green sauce Limoncello shots with a lime in (Which I thought were tequila shots) n An Asian dessert with a thin, sweet yellow custard and little balls that had the texture of soggy sponge but might have been paneer. I personally didn't like that but it was something new Oh, and the interior is very pretty! Be aware that it can get quite noisy, however.
