Blend Catering - Korean beef short rib wrap - another fave!

Everyone at the event was genuinely impressed. Their menu structure is very straightforward--they offer clear standard pricing with a variety of options, as well as optional upgrades. We decided to upgrade to the filet, and it was worth every penny! Ahead of the big day, they hosted a private tasting for us in Reno so we could finalize our selections and fine-tune a few details. On the day of the event, Chef Memo and his team arrived right on time and seamlessly converted our home kitchen into a prep station to finish and plate the dinner, which was served outside. They handled a few last-minute schedule changes with total ease. The entire staff was exceptionally kind, helpful, and attentive throughout the night. Menu Highlights: Appetizers/Stations: The taco station, mini lobster rolls, and sliders were huge crowd favorites. Dessert: The variety of mini desserts was a massive hit with our guests. At the end of the night, they left our kitchen spotless and neatly stacked all the rental items in the garage for pickup. We enthusiastically recommend Blend Catering to anyone looking for a top-tier catering team!

Choosing Blend as our caterer was easily one of the best choices we made for our wedding day!…read moreWorking with Whitney and the Blend team was an absolute pleasure from the very beginning. They were always quick and responsive to answer our questions and the ease of scheduling our tasting was so easy! We loved that the tasting was an option and we both agreed this was easily our favorite part of the planning process. The only difficult aspect was selecting final proteins, sides, and appetizers because they're all SO good that you wish you could choose them all. The catering team on the day of the wedding were so freaking sweet. They were flexible, rolled with the rain, and didn't skip a beat on timing or set-up. It was important to us to attend our cocktail hour (in lieu of photos and missing out on guests), but as an extra benefit - the second I'd finished an appetizer, the Blend team was magically at my side to give me another. Truly, 10/10 service! In an unexpected moment, one of the Blend catering staff had congratulated us on a beautiful wedding and had then said: "They say rain is good luck on your wedding day because it washes away all the hardship that's come before." I've previously heard that 'rain on your wedding day is good luck', yet I'd never heard the second part of the saying or 'why' it's good luck. She couldn't have known our story, but my husband's a Marine and we've been together for 11 years through countless deployments, exercises, and overseas assignments. Her sharing that with us meant so much and it's stuck as one of the profound moments where I felt incredibly present and rooted on that day. Not only that moment, but all of the Blend staff were so kind and present with all our guests. I would see them laughing and joking and our guests could not stop raving about how good the food was!! They also LOVED that there was the option to go back for seconds. Each of the Blend staff at one point had complimented my dress (it was black!) and they all made me feel beautiful and seen in so many ways. As the late night bites were passed around and one of the trays emptied, the Blend girls joined us on the dance floor and it was such an epic blast. On the logistics front, Blend delivered yet again. We had 2 guests with allergies and 2 guests with dietary preferences and coordinating their needs were so easy. We also discovered one of our guests had a tonsillectomy 3 days before our wedding, so we messaged the Blend team to see if they could make any last minute accommodations and again - they delivered! From the food, to the service, to their people - Blend is one of the best choices you can make for your wedding. I can't recommend them, their food, or their staff enough. Our final selection choices: - Appetizers: Korean beef short rib wrap, pork belly skewer with maple bourbon glaze (MY FAVE), and the tuna tostada (my second fave!) - Mains: The gochujang buttermilk fried chicken thighs and New York steak with au poivre sauce - Sides: Mashed potatoes (we LOVED the smashed potatoes during our tasting, but opted for mashed instead to dip the protein in, IYKYK), grilled asparagus. - Salad: Honey crisp salad - Drink station: apple cider, strawberry lemonade, and cucumber water (This was also such a huge hit for our guests that don't drink! They loved having more options than just soda or water.)

What a lovely dining experience fitting of the old school charm in the space, with delicious food…read moreand fantastic personalized service to boot. Walking in you're immediately transformed to the dining era of yesteryear. Warm woods adorn the walls, an iconic and historic bar welcomes, friendly suited up servers smile and greet you, and that's all before your host seats you! Reservations are almost a must, but don't hesitate to call and see because they will always try to get you in! We did just that and got seated in the large private dining room and started with an app special of fried artichoke hearts, lightly breaded in a gluten free flour, a great idea so more could enjoy it! For dinner I had the veal piccata with a lovely linguine with garlic and oil. I loved every bite and mopped the plate. The mussels were delicious. The artichoke salmon excellent. Honestly all of it was spectacular. I'll def be back.

A friend of mine asked me to join them for dinner. We had a reservation in which we were seated…read morepromptly. We took a few min to decide on what to order. We decided and the waitress happily took our order They accommodated my friend as she asked for muscles instead of clams. She enjoyed her dinner. Another friend ordered Caesar salad with salmon. I must say the Caesar was a side salad portion normally it would be a larger size when adding a hunk of protein. It literally was a sm soup bowl size. The salmon was a decent size. I asked how was the salad dressing was. And she mentioned she makes a better one at home with a little more anchovy forward. I mentioned I hope it's not from a bottle. 2 of us ordered chicken Parmesan. This is where it went screwy! Instead of the big pasta noodles it came with, we asked of we could sub it for angel hair with Alfredo sauce. Sure she said. Let me ask the cook though. She came back and it was a go. As we waited for our dinner, my friends chicken parm came back with no marinara just mozzarella on her chicken which looked a little dry and her angel hair ( or capillini pasta) had little Alfredo sauce on it I told her that not traditional chicken parm. When I ordered I said I'll have the same as her. When I received mine, the Alfredo sauce was on the side in a dish. I can live with that. The chicken parm was just a fried piece of chicken. Everyone said it looked dry. No sauce no mozzarella. I wish I would have taken a pic of that. So I send it back and ask them to add marinara sauce and mozzarella and pop it under the broiler briefly to melt cheese. I could hardly cut the thin piece of chicken that looked like it was deep fried. It was dry by that time. I hate sending things back to the kitchen cause you never know what's going on now with your dinner She said there must have been a miscommunication. I guess there was.!! Needless to say I didn't eat but a couple of bites, since it was pretty dry. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor. I definitely could have done better myself. When you go out to dinner the point is not having to cook at home. I spent 39.00 with tax and top for a meal I didn't enjoy. Boo! And uneventful and disappointing to say the least. Ok ... So they ordered dessert. The espresso crunch gelato was tasty as I tried that and their tiramisu was very well done. I didn't try the cannoli as I didn't want to take from my friend's medium size cannoli. Not enough to share. Here's my final take away... I'm not sure if I'll ever go back as I had been there once before for happy hour and it was SPENDY for a happy hour. We all could have ordered a meal for the price of half hour. Needless to say they don't do HH anymore. I have to wonder why. ? I think I can guess. Im really surprised the owner didn't check in when I didn't receive my dinner and that they had all received theirs and then when it was sent back, he didn't check. I'm not sure if it will be a long term establishment in the long run Anyway thats my review the good, the bad, the unsavory! I think I'll stick with Mario's ( basically a block or 2 over or Johnnie's. May e even Zozo's.
