Pretty good hobby store. They have almost anything that you are looking for, and it's cool to not have to go online for paint, and other rc parts. Today, we visited because Tim needed a very specific green paint. After looking for awhile, I found it and it was a good price. The only downside is sometimes the paint prices are way higher that what you will get online (a difference of $5-10$), so we will check forst, and if we can get the same paint for $6, it'll be like $17 here. Which is kinda weird to me because the store is so big, and always pretty active, so it doesn't make sense to have such a significant difference in price. That's my only issue. otherwise, the place is clean, the customer service reps are all very knowledgeable and helpful, and you can expect to have a friendly conversation regarding your purchases. I was in the area for work, but needed some supplies for planes I was working on. I hadn't been to the store for over 10 years, due to not living in Orlando. During a phone call, the Tech Support guy was absolutely rude. Looking for a return replacement on an Eflite UMX Ultrix, he asked what was wrong with the plane, I tried to explain a malfunction on the circuit board, but he really didn't want to listen. Guess he thinks everyone on the other end of the phone lacks knowledge on RC stuff. He sure did want to tell me about his experience though! I can appreciate his RC knowledge, but really its not about you dude, Its about the product, try listening to the customer for at least 1 MINUTE, don't talk over them and never tell them to shut up. Bought an Axial 1/24 crawler. Within 10 days the motor broke. Wanted to process a refund to buy a better quality Traxxas. Receipt in hand I asked an employee for refund and was pointed to the manager, "you gotta talk to him about that, it's up to him". Manager would not process refund. Instead he opened a new box model and swapped out the truck, remote, book, parts. Sign on wall states "no refunds without receipt". So I pointed this out and the cashier and said "It's up to the manager, he decides". No way to swap for a different, higher-quality model either. Avoid this place unless you have a parts emergency! *While I was at the front counter, another guy was trying to process an exchange and was being rejected also. read more

A (very) few static plastic models also. Their help typically is helpful and knowledgable. So do listen to them with earnest if going into the RC hobby and their suggestions are less than you had in mind. Good advice can save you money and frustration. This store has a kind of cluttered "hobby room" mess vibe to it, so be prepared for the visual overload. Lots of stuff in every space. Hobby lovers have hit the jackpot with this store. If there is a supply that this store doesn't stock I'd be shocked. From RC vehicles, train sets, children's toys, kites, planes to models this store is packed to the gills. . The stores layout is organised into many small rooms of organised items and a large main room with various items organised by rows. Each room we went into had staff working on them and with every room came a friendly greeting and offers to assist us. They have employees on site that repair RC vehicles and help with questions, tips and adjustments. I'll definitely be returning to get supplies. They had plenty of parking. I live a couple hours away so had to use GPS to get here, Waze provides exact directions. It is on a busy road and the sign on the street is visible, although I was looking for a sign with the stores name Graves, due to the font, angle and location of the businesses name it could easily be passed when driving. Look for the words "Hobby Shop" on the sign instead of " Graves" and you'll be all set. They are open almost everyday of the year, including holidays. I believe I was told they are only closed 3-4. It's a unique hobby shop that has the store divided into separate sections. There is a car/crawler area, a small helicopter area, an area dedicated to spare E-Flite parts, and then the general area full of a bunch of things. Plenty of batteries, charges, and radio control equipment as well. There is also a room in the back left full of propellers and wheels. There's also many airplanes hanging from the ceiling for sale. Worst experience ever had in a hobby store. Went in with $300 to revive an old hobby. All excited brought in my old RC Plane to buy an engine and a new RC plane and new radio outfit to build. I like to build from scratch. Basically, All I got was insults, no help and told to go learn about engines and proper engine fitting and come back. Told me my old stuff belonged in the garbage. Would not help me fit an engine and tried to pawn me off on someone else. Still hard to believe the treatment I got in Graves Hobby RC plane department. This place is awesome! We walked in on a busy Saturday just to check the place out. It's one of those places you drive by and always mean to stop... Anyway, this Saturday the place was bustling. We were greeted by several employees and manage to navigate through the maze of cluttered rooms. You'd have to know what you were looking for in here- there were tons of tiny parts that I could make no sense of. We made our way into one narrow room that must have been the helicopter room. We were given a detailed lesson on RC helis and allowed to try their simulator. The guy who helped us was very nice and patiently explained all the different levels of helis and their different functions, abilities, etc. Although we didn't plan on it we ended up leaving with an awesome copter for $100. This was way better than those little helis you'd buy in a toy store! We spent the evening playing with our new toy! We also made our way into the cool RC car room. We will be coming back to buy my son an RC Monster Truck. The have large trucks modeled after the actual Monster Trucks- Grave Digger, Maximum Destruction, etc... These puppies go 35mph out of the box and can be upgraded from there. Every little boy's (and even BIG boys, lol) dream come true! read more

My husband and I have been coming to graves for probably 10yrs. We have spent a lot of money here. Our last purchase was a couple weeks ago and my husband bought a Jato 3.3 RC car. When we first walked in, we went to the car section and the guys behind the counter talk to you as if your stupid, and offer no kind of help. My husband hardly speaks English and they treat him as if he doesn't know what he's talking about just because he may mix up a few words. After you spend a reasonable amount of money, all of a sudden they are nice. We came back today to buy a glow plug and some other items. To which the lady at checkout, had a nasty attitude towards my husband. She was bickering back and forth with my husband as to why he shouldn't buy the product he was asking her to ring up for him. She also added, "that the product was bad, that he should choose another one" telling my husband to go to the back and speak to the guys about what glow plug he needs. Again, my husband been doing this for years, he knows what he needs and she had no business arguing with my husband over a purchase he wanted to make. He went in with my DEBIT card and the total was less than $30 and she made me get out the car to show ID. Never have I shown ID for such a small purchase with my debit card. All this to say, she was profiling my husband, she was nervous about him looking at a glow plug from behind the counter, trying to insinuate he was going to steal it. We drive 30+ mins to come here and have a pleasant experience on a hobby my husband enjoys to be treated this way! It's safe to say we will no longer spend our time and money here! read more

All I say about this hobby store is WOW! I've been there a couple of times (although my yelp check-in was only twice) to get parts for my husband's drones. Everyone there were always helpful from the moment you entered the store until you leave and also staff are very knowledgeable. This last store visit, during check-out I noticed that even I used the chip of my cc they still asked for my ID, though I don't mind them doing that and in fact I hope every business would do it to avoid fraudulent transaction claims later on. I got a kick reading the reviews about people bent out of shape over a cashier. So what? She's a cashier. Get over it. The prices and selection are unbeatable. Been going here 20 years, drive 90 miles one way to make that happen, passing MANY hobby shops along the way. Take your lazy butt to the area you are interested in, and talk to the gentlemen at those counters, and you're in business. Simple. The support and knowledge they have is unsurpassed. I also like ordering online, the shipping rates are not inflated and usually overnight for me being in FL. I still fly glow powered models and need glow fuel. The fuel prices alone cover my gas for the trip going here. I've never once showed up here and found something I needed not in stock. What's that worth? Online you can get scammed so easily these days. Fun to see what you're buying and take it home that day. Started messing around with RCs a little over a year ago, still pretty new to the hobby, as I don't get much time to spend with it, brought in a car I wanted to have repairs on. RC car guy was able to look at it, tell me what was wrong, sold me what I needed and told me what to do. Followed the instructions he gave, and my car was up and running in no time!! There were a lot of people there and we may have never gotten help from the staff. We waited at the counter for a while and a guy said he'd be right with us. We waited and waited and after about 5 minutes, my husband said he could probably find what he needed (which he did). We paid for our purchase and the cashier didn't say thank you. They seem to have it all. Every time I've needed a part, whether its some carbon fiber, spare props or a new toy they always have it. The staff is knowledgeable and sometimes if your not sure what you need, just explain it to the best of your ability and someone can direct you to the right part or another staff member to help out. Since I recently got a Syma Quad copter I thought it be time to see about a car or truck. Sensory overload when you walk in which is great. I love building and customizing everything I touch. This was amazing place to start. The guy in the car section really knew his stuff( while eating bk nuggets)..lol I ended up walking out of there with a rustler with an extra battery pack for under $300 bucks which is awesome. However Danielle at the register has probably the worst attitude I have ever experienced in customer service. I had the opportunity to see her interact with employees extremely condescending. This place has a ton of stuff for RC. I brought my racing drone in because I couldn't figure out why my fpv wasn't working. I thought it was my video transmitter and had Mitch look at it. After a lot of trouble shooting and testing it turns out my camera was the issue. It had a short in it which was preventing my video transmitter from turning on. The place is small for the amount of inventory they have - they have tons of RC toys and enough spare parts to fix anything about them, but it's kind of hard to walk around and snoop without getting in another shopper's way. Be prepared to say "excuse me" a lot. The biggest problem for me, however, was customer service. Great selection, and fine unless, God forbid, you get defective product and have to exchange it. Seeing as I was wanting an exact duplicate (with receipt in hand) and not a refund I was really surprised when I was basically accused of lying and destroying the product myself. I was shown scuffs on a copter that I'd never flown, which to me showed that it had been used and returned once before. The employee seemed to suppose that if he was enough of a jerk I'd just walk out and enjoy paying for nothing. It was the exchange-department equivalent of watching a Bill O'Reilly marathon. I have to say I am appalled at how I have been treated. I placed an order online to buy my dad a birthday gift. I received an email saying due to so much fraud happening they would not be able to send my order to a different address than the billing address. I agreed and then asked them to send the product to me directly. This was not good enough and I was instructed to place a separate order so that the shipping fee could be calculated on the new order for my state. So...I placed a second order. Tying up over $400 from my bank account at this point. I then received another email telling me they were then cancelling my second order. Being frustrated and confused at this point I told them not to cancel my order but they did so anyway. When I called and spoke with Lisamarie about this she informed me they would not be selling me the item at all. What??? How ridiculous is that? How is someone agreeing to have their item shipped to their billing address even remotely fraudulent? I am so insulted over this. In speaking with my father who has been a long time and loyal consumer he informed me that the owner has recently passed away and the company has gone downhill quickly. Judging by the reviews I have read today more and more people are upset with the customer service from Graves.
