Saw a comment about them having silver and bronze age comics so I drove South an hour away to check out a new comic store. When I arrived I asked the guy behind the counter about them and he basically said, "good luck, we don't have many because guys come in here weekly with their Key Collector apps out hoping to make a flip." The comics are well organized so I looked and I did find one....$3 for a Warlock Infinty Watch #7. I brought some comics in to trade since another store I've frequented (that's North an hour drive away) does trades. Absolutely not here and the guy told me, "we're like Walmart, we don't do trades." I paid the $3 and left. If you're in there for Funko or new age comics it's probably a great store. If you're going for TCG be prepared to pay high dollar for scalped products and "minty" raw cards. read more

This store is great! Theres a wide selection of material: games, figures, comics, posters, books, cards, and more. The employee was very helpful and nice. I think everything was reasonably priced and well-organized so we could find exactly what we were looking for. read more

THIS is a comic book store. Just...WOW! Every fanboy and fangirl dream of a shop like this to get their Marvel/DC/Manga on. Yes, they are heavy on the Funko here, but that only means it's HIGHLY likely you'll find the figure you want. Speaking of figures, I had to take a few minutes to appreciate the ones they have for John Wick. In the word of Keanu, WHOA! Comic Central is one of the better designed, stocked, and laid out shops I have ever visited. Respect. I wish I found this place before Christmas, but who am I kidding? In the area for a repair and happened to stop in right as they opened. Was shocked to see a line. We thought there was an event. Nope! Just people excited to go in. Stopped in for the first time today. Down doing the Disney thing so figured I would check out a local shop. Walked in and two full sized hulks keeping an eye on the door. First thing I could tell they have a lot going on here. Funko's, comic's, statues and cards. So I bought 2 Funko's and 3 comics. Lots of back issues and bought myself a ASM 122. This place is located in a great shopping area/center in Sanford. We make sure to hit this area up a few times a year, and every time we do, we make sure to stop at this shop. I like that it's easy to get in and out of the parking lot and shop. My daughter is a pop collector, so she loves their massive selection of pops. While I'm not a pop fan, myself, they do carry a decent selection of high end collectibles, like Bandai & Hot Toys. I have found that their marvel legends prices are very fair. Everytime I walk into this store, I'm met with the most kind and helpful staff. The cashier in particular, Zoe, made my day when I (reluctantly) walked in 3 minutes before closing and she still met me with the sweetest approach all while I was apologizing profusely. I just went in this store to look for pops. And I asked the store clerk TIM, about a certain star lord pop. And he started to accuse me that they called me about having another pop and that they called me. I never got the call I told him and he kept forcing the issue that he was right next to the clerk about this pop. I told him I never had the voice mail he told me they left me. So he kept being rude and arguing with me and basically forced me to buy a pop that I was looking for that just came in. This man TIM, was very rude and shouldn't be working in a place like this!!! And I will never come or suggest this place to anyone!! It used to be a fantastic place to go but I wount be and I will make sure I tell everyone how bad this place is. read more

Solid comic book store. This place is wall to wall with new comics and collections, and a descent supply of back issues (going back only a few years as far as I could tell.) There's a nice collectibles case near the front, and small area for boxed toys. The people are very nice and informative and the overall look and feel of the place is just the right amount of geeky. I highly recommend for keeping up with newer releases and ongoing series, but if it's worth the drive there are some better places in Longwood and Orlando for the back issues. Oh and being right next to Gamestop and Movie stop really makes this area a one stop shop for geeks. read more

This really is the best comic book store I have found in the 15 mile radius of the Orlando area, when your mission is new comic books. Comic Central pretty much carries every new issue on Wednesday. Even though Coliseum and A Comic Shop are closer to me, those shops are very picky about what they order (especially ACS). There have been many Wednesdays spent going to one of those two stores for something new I would have liked to check out but found they didn't order it in. Comic Central seems to have a much more inclusive ordering system! Their new and recent issues seem to be a fourth of the store (unlike a 10th at other places). Maybe they don't have everything in every week but they're your best shot. They don't get picky, "too hip," or cater to only one basic taste. That is something I really appreciate. Yeah, I'm sure those other shops could "order" it for me, but that beats the point of New Comic Day. If I have a big list, Comic Central is my best plan of action. Also, I like the decor: modern and comfortable. Not shabby like Coliseum and not dark and sterile like ACS. I also like that the stock is 85% stories (issues and trades) with just a little touch of collectibles and fashion. read more

Comic Central is easily my go-to place when I need to grab new issues or trades. A great location that's never too far from home, a welcoming atmosphere and solid stock keep me coming back. But the best part is easily the service, of all things. Every single staff member I've ever spoken to in this store was courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and more than willing to strike up a conversation about favorite books or give insight into hidden gems. Not to mention their offers to order whatever you're looking for. It's clear they have a passion for their work, proving that doing what you love never truly feels like work at all. I've been going to them for at least 10 years now and this is hands down my favorite shop. I regularly travel 45 minutes to go here even though there are many closer to where I live. The staff is friendly and always helpful. If you tell them what you like they will steer you in a direction that is right for you and will tell you if something isn't going to suit your taste. They have a great selection of trades as well and a large selection of Pops and collectibles if you're into that. read more

I have been reading and collecting for 35 years. I have found the folks at comic central to be helpful and pleasant. They do all the things a comic store should do. I keep my weekly and monthly subscriptions with them and they even remember when I bring duplicates to the counter I bought the previous week/month. Beyond being a typical shop they do not intrude on you with tons of email or push things you don't want. They are knowledgeable and serve their customers first. Toys, cards, statues and other related items are not my thing, but they have all that for the collectors who find it interesting. They are not too big and commercial like some other stores that are in the Orlando area who make you feel like a nameless entity. It is a fun place to shop and chat about the Marvel and DC universes (as well as all the other comic brands). If I every leave Sanford-Lake Mary I will miss this shop. Great for kids who still read and aren't stuck in front of video games 24/7 during summer. read more

I lived in MD until this year, and when I moved I was worried about finding a good place to satisfy all my nerdly needs. I could always switch to buying online, but then I wouldn't really get that wonderful feeling that comes with the whole Comic Book Store experience. Since then, I stumbled upon Comic Central, and I was very impressed with their stock. They are now 1 of 3 local comic book shops that I absolutely love! Not a bad comic shop with focus on trades and plenty of new comics. Definetly a solid 3 stars! Back issues section is small but they surprisingly keep it stocked with some great books! Theres even some dollar bins! High end back issues behind the register some over priced some fairly priced. Not bad for a quick comic fix! I've been going here for a few years now, but I will not be going back. Everytime I walk through the door, it's an immediate shun from the bearded guy behind the desk, giving me a look as if it's "oh great it's you again. Just buy something and leave". Not even a "Hello!" or "Welcome to Comic Central!", just stares and/or awkward nods. Question? You get a mumbled "yup". Comment about an comic issue? You get a raised eyebrow. Keep your comics. After having moved here from NY, I was in the lucky position to have a selection of several comic book stores to go to in the area. While not physically the largest, Comic Central is the best by far. The staff is always helpful and very knowledgeable. If they don't have something, they will get it for you. Setting up a pull list of your monthly books is done without a minimum, and they are super efficient in adding/dropping with just a email or call. The store is clean, bright and welcoming. The majority books are displayed cover forward instead of spine forward on bookshelves, so browsing is a pleasure. You will not walk in and feel like you are not part of the "in crowd", as happens in some stores. The customer service is what sets CC apart from the other stores in the area. You owe it to yourself to give them a try! read more

I've had my subs coming from here for a couple years now but over time it's become increasingly hard to purchase from this store. Their rewards program is a joke. Manager will only hold non ratio B variants for his friends. I travel and I'm only able to visit the store to pick up my subs every couple of weeks and apparently this is an issue now as well. I know options are limited for comic shops in Sanford with Smash closing down but if you can find anywhere to go besides here I implore you to do so. read more

i'm new to comic books and new to florida. coming from new york i never thought i would find a store to slake my thirst for comic books and graphic novels...and then comic central happened. the store is jam packed with lots of good things. and i never leave there without something in my hands. i love it. even my 8 year-old nephew is into the place. he's just at the age where collecting toys and comic book is becoming his thing so when i took him there for the first time, he turns around and says "this place is awesome!" so far the only staff i've met is sam who seems to always be there, but that's ok because he always has little bits of comic book wisdom for us. the store is great. stay open forever! thanks for being out there! read more

Comic Central is a great comic shop. They offer good discounts if you setup a subscription with them and always have a good inventory of the weekly comic books. The employees are friendly and helpful with recommendations and any help you might need. They have a good supply of back issues if you are looking for older books and they take requests incase of out of stock merchandise. If you shop for trades and comic collections then this is the store for you with 2 entire walls dedicated to you. Coliseum of comics used to be my favorite comic store before coming here. This place has about every pop I've been looking for, they have more Harley items than any other store and some of their collectible items are cheaper. The staff is always so friendly and patient with me. Also, I've never seen the store dirty.
