Any action figure you had as a kid is probably here at prices that will make you angry at dad for throwing them out in 1975. I've never been in here without having to dodge customers looking starry-eyed in an aisle at something they found. Don't miss the back room full of graphic novels and discount boxes at the back.

This review is strictly about how the owner chose to handle the situation. I went in looking to buy a structure deck for the new Gundam card game that just released. The staff member confirmed they had four decks in stock, but said they weren't selling them yet because they hadn't received their full shipment and were worried about scalpers. I completely understood that concern, so I explained I only wanted one deck for myself. Even then, she said the owner refused to sell them because they wanted to use the decks for an event to teach people how to play. I mentioned I wouldn't be able to attend the event and just wanted to buy the product, but they still said no. I honestly don't know how they're going to run an event with only four structure decks. It's frustrating to be turned away when they clearly had the product in stock, especially since I've had several good experiences with this shop in the past. Again, I really appreciate how well the staff member handled the situation. Unfortunately, the owner's decision here made for a very disappointing experience. If you're looking for Gundam products, this is not the store to go to.

(Hats off to the baristas!) I've been coming here for years, and it's so exciting to see how much they've grown. Their comic inventory is impressive, and the staff always has great recommendations if you're looking for something new. My favorite thing about this place is the variety of events and the way they engage with the community. It's clear the owners continue to pour a lot of passion and love into this space. A number of figures, old VHS tapes and DVDs, comic back issues, and old books. My nephew noticed the much-hyped Lucky Charms Funko Pop available for sale and I saw a whole case full of Star Wars figurines. They don't care if you're a subscriber, if you're not there, they will sell your books to other people. The clerk just tells you "Oh sorry, we're all sold out." when in fact that shouldn't have mattered because you were subscribed to it. This store won't last long with such unprofessional, not to mention idiotic and greedy, business practices. I've been coming to this store since they opened last year. And apparently loyalty is something they're not good at. I will be bringing my money elsewhere. This store sucks as$.

Ultimate Comics has large walls of new comics already bagged and boarded, including rare variant covers, and some graphic novels and boxes of back issues. There's a corner full of Funko Pop figures, a shelf of stuffed animals, and big boxed super-hero action figures. One of the things I like about the store is that they devote a section to comics suitable for kids. A lot of comic shops seem to only cater to adult collectors, but I believe children are the future.
