Please just list what you offer and how much it is. I might not want a drink and a random "food pairing ". They used to have a normal menu which listed the different food/drinks and the cost. New menu is very annoying. read more

I never write Yelp reviews but had a unique experience here that warrants it. Came here with a large party of 10 for wine tasting over the weekend. We had emailed a staff member prior and informed her we would likely just been wine tasting and maybe would order some snacks but no guarantee. She said no problem. We arrive at winery - which is absolutely gorgeous and the views of Mt. Hood cannot contend with! However, we were met the same staff member (tall blond in her 50s) who we had emailed with. After she explained their very complex menu (no option to order just 1 or 2 pizzas, had to order at least 5 pizzas plus salads etc), we decided to just order wine as we had previously discussed with her, outlined in the email exchange. This staff member went on to be incredibly rude to our party, basically chastising us for not ordering food. It was a very uncomfortable experience as she made multiple comments that ordering 3 bottles of wine was not clearly not "good enough". Again, the opposite being said in the email exchange. We came to the winery to wine taste, see views and ultimately spend money and likely would have spent at least triple what we spent (ordered only 3 bottles of wine for a group of 10) had not this particular staff member been incredibly rude. We also would have ordered some snacks/appetizers but were told that was not possible - we basically had to order a full fledge 3-course meal per person or nothing. The rest of the staff was warm and friendly. The tall blond in her 50s or so ruined our experience of an otherwise beautiful winery. Their pizzas looked very tasty but the menu was unnecessarily complicated for no reason. If they simplified the menu and fired the rude staff member, it would have been an amazing experience. read more

Amazing pizza, salad and cider. Pear salad had all the ingredients complimenting each other. Nothing overpowering. Cider was smooth and crisp. Pizza had a nice chewy yeasty crust that was not to thick. The pear pizza with bacon and onions was amazing. Worth the drive up the mountain for the food and the amazing views. read more

I was so excited to visit this place! It was number one on my list of wineries with a view and everyone raved about it. I did what I was supposed to do and made a reservation online several days before going. We arrived at 4:15, right when our reservation started, and the lady working there just seemed kind of annoyed that she had to deal with our arrival. We were put at a table in the far corner, literally the only table not near a window so we could see absolutely nothing. The chairs at our table were armchairs that sank so low my chin was basically table height, and there were large coils of cords right next to us near the fireplace which looked like it was being used to store all the junk in the restaurant. The only reason I drove all the way out there was for the spectacular view so I asked if we could possibly sit at one of the open tables with a window. I was told that they would be taken shortly, as they were reserved. I was confused since I too made a reservation. We ate some food and had a drink then left. The open tables with the view remained available throughout the duration of our stay, so had we been allowed to move, it wouldn't have interfered with anyone else's reservation after all. The tables around us all looked like they were having a great time, the server was friendly to them, they had normal chairs and that great view. So, f you end up trying out Grateful Vineyard and have a similar experience to one of those other groups, I'm sure you'd enjoy yourself. This is the only winery I didn't purchase bottles to take home at during my time in Hood River, simply because I have no interest in reminiscing about my experience there. To top it off, I received an email in the evening from Open Table saying that I was a "no show" to my reservation at Grateful Vineyard and if I got 3 more my account would be deactivated. read more

A fantastic addition to the area wineries. Here is my take: Service is outstanding A+ Owner is very visible and engaged A++ Parking is ample. A The food is excellent. A Wines are delicious (Take this with a grain of salt, I have the taste of a peasant ) A The atmosphere here is super kid/family-friendly. As a grandfather who needs a break for chasing two and three-year-olds, Grateful Vineyard is a winner. A+++ read more

We had the BEST experience here yesterday! They make amazingly yummy gourmet pizzas and their wine and cider is tasty too! They have the best view of Mt Hood when the clouds are not in the way. And walking through their orchards is so relaxing. We're making this a regular stop whenever we are in Hood River now! read more

Come here for great wine and views! The table next to us had a pizza made fresh and it smelled so delicious, a wood fire type of pizza! This is a hidden gem for sure! I can't wait to see this winery continue to grow! I had a wine tasting and tried all the wines! The one I surprising liked the most was the Riesling! I got a glass of that and headed to the patio to enjoy the view. The Riesling was the most refreshing on that hot day not too sweet but crisp! If you are in the area you must stop by and check this place out! One suggestion that I didn't see is maybe have some umbrellas or a tarp to cover the out side patio tables! Overall awesome place!!! read more

Pizza is amazing. Great view, inside and out. Try the pizza special with peaches and goat cheese.

My husband came for out annual apple picking and found ourselves pleasantly surprised by the food and wine. To be honest, we have had some.bad experiences at small places like this so when the food and wine blew us away, we were super happy. The wine is excellent food wine, each pairing well with their food offerings. We had a pizza: 1/2 meat lovers & 1/2 wild mushroom. It was phenomenal. The Pinot Gris paired perfectly with the wild mushroom while the Pinot noir went with the meat lovers. All of the ingredients are super fresh and the flavors well selected. I can't Waite to come back. read more

This place holds a very special spot in my heart. I proposed to my partner in the orchard and celebrated in this winery. The breathtaking views, the warm and welcoming staff, incredible pizza and great wine will forever be the perfect memory of the day she said yes Going back is such a treat. Couldn't recommend this place more. Even though it's a little far it's completely worth it. Be sure to make your way over and say hi to Carlos read more

Everything about our experience here was perfection: the food, the beer, the views...to name a few. But the best part? The service!!! We (two adults, two littles and a pup) were treated so well by our server and hostess!! They were so kind, had excellent recommendations and thought of all the details for our meal. It was like being with family. Thank you! read more

This is my favorite vineyard to visit when we're in Hood River. They have the best GF pizzas and views. We love their selection of wine and cider. After wine tasting we go over to the fruit stand and pick up whatever is in season. You can pick your own, too. Also, this place is kid friendly. There's a little playground on the way to the fruit stand. My only suggestion is to the guests: please PICK UP your chairs. Do not drag them over the concrete floor inside because it's neither good etiquette or adding to the enjoyment of others. Plus, a little strength training is good for the body. In the future if the establishment would like to get wooden chairs or plastic bottoms then that would reduce the noise level of lazy people incessantly dragging their chairs in/out of tables. read more

Beautifully situated with a fantastic view of Mt. Hood. We only ordered a beer each. Didn't care to purchase a "large" pizza and two drinks for $40 (drinks $10 each/$20 for pizza that my husband could eat on his own.) I really wanted to like this place more and think if they offered an Á La carte menu for the garden area they'd get more business. The young men that served our beer were friendly and the beer was good, however, I was a little underwhelmed based off their website. read more

This place was great! We made a reservation (only necessary for full service) and did a tasting. Our favorite part was actually probably the pizza - they used local cherries (very unique) and it was cooked perfectly. Only thing we wish we had known is that you can come here without a reservation - they had a tent with pizza and wine for purchase and then you could sit outside (wasn't clear on the website). We probably would have done that had we known, but as is, we still had a good time! read more

We had such a great experience at Grateful Vineyard! As a cider enthusiast, I of course tried a flight plus samples of their other 2 ciders. Golden Row Cider offers blackberry, pear, peach, black cherry, cranberry and apple. They were all good, most were semi-sweet ciders, and I enjoyed that a few up them had a hint of sparkle. We got the Mt View Orchard Pear and Meat Lovers pizza to split. They aren't your average pizzas and are so delicious, made farm fresh and the meat lovers has a spicy honey on it that makes it out of this world. Probably one of the best pizzas I have had in Oregon. They also have gelato--tonight they had vanilla, raspberry, strawberry and blueberry lavender. My friend and I split the strawberry and blueberry lavender, and like our server said, you really couldn't go wrong with either! We rounded the night out with a sample of their "Frose" which is a sweet frozen rose' wine, so good! The service is fantastic and really go out of their way to make sure you're enjoying your time and everything is to your liking. Our waitress was Layne and she was so sweet and I loved her recommendations and enthusiasm! The views aren't bad either and really round out the experience! I really don't think you can go wrong with an evening at Grateful Vineyards. I would definitely call in advance for reservations, I'm glad we did! They were busy but their service was on top of it! read more

What a bummer. Don't bother coming here if you have kids with you. We stopped in because we heard the pizza was delicious. To be fair, it was wonderful. But they only sell by the slice unless you do the tasting experience which wasn't even available to us because we had our kids with us. Be prepared to pick up your pizza at a table outside. Terrible communication and less than friendly dude at the counter. I'd say a visit without kids would potentially be great, but we felt so unwanted that I'll never be back. If you don't want kids there, cool. Just say it straight out vs making me feel like a jerk for bringing them here. read more

Love the wine but the when you was very confusing. Had a party of 10 and none of us could figure out the menu. After about a half an hour of figuring out the menu we got a lot of wine so I would not not recommend this place. read more

This used to be one of my favorite spots - came here a handful of times and even spent my birthday here. However, today really changed my opinion. I had told my friend how much I loved this place and had made reservations for us in a week. Checked over the website and read all the emails to make sure there weren't any major changes due to covid. Their website shows a full menu and even stated that "slices were available everyday" when I made the reservation. We were ahead of schedule so we asked if we could come in early since our reservation wasn't for a few hours and they said yes. We came in and were told to sit anywhere so we sat in comfy chairs in the corner. A woman came up and said "do you know about our two offerings" and proceeded to tell us that you could only order one type of pizza and they wouldn't even do just cheese pizza which has always been on their menu. That's fine, even though that was the reason we came, we would just get drinks. We were sitting for a total of 2 minutes before another woman asked why we were seated at that table and proceeded to ask us why we didn't want to move even after we explained we didn't mind the wobbly table and mostly sat there for the comfy chairs. She asked a bunch of unnecessary questions and then eventually took our answer. Their drinks are still good, but the service has gone downhill. I wish they would've made it known on their website or emailed customers with a reservation that they had changed their menu to only a $25 and a $45 package option with one specific food offering with no changes. We wouldn't have driven 2 hours to visit if we knew the experience would've gone this way. read more

We stopped by Grateful Vineyard on our way through Hood River. We walked in as a family group of 5 excited for pizza, homemade root beer, a fruit stand, and wine. The staff were very friendly toward us when we went to the counter until they discovered we had one member under 21. Immediately the attitude shifted in the staff and told us we could not sit inside (the entire place was empty) or in the outdoor covered tent area with a heater. They told us we could only be out under the other tented area past the parking lot and proceeded to serve us wine and beer in plastic cups. We also were not allowed to order tasting flights, which was fine but odd? We walked over to the tented area and it's pouring down rain and we had to sit on wet benches. It was confusing because there were 3 heaters right in front of the front entrance, yet no one bothered to help the families who had to sit in under the cold wet tents. No one checked on us. No one offered us food. It is a terrible spot if you happen to be a family. If it was just us adults, I wonder if we would have had a better and more positive experience. But we felt ostracized for having a minor and wish we would've known. Just a heads up if you have a minor! read more

After my experience with Grateful winery, I have to agree with the themes running throughout the reviews...beautiful view and not-so-great customer service. This establishment was highly recommended to us so we went to purchase a bottle of their rose for a friend. When we arrived, we were told that we can do tasting inside or outside. So, being a nice day, we went outside to the their tent and asked for a tasting. We approached the two staff members outside and made our request for a tasting. They just looked at us like we were bothering them. They then served us and quickly turned away to continue their conversation. After having that not-so-friendly interaction, we then went inside and asked to try their sparkling rose because it wasn't available outside. Again, a different staff member this time, acted like we were disturbing their nice day. At that point, my wife just decided to get one bottle for our friend and not give them any more of our money. Why be open if you don't want people to come to your place? Figure it out people! I kindly suggest a name change... maybe 'unfriendly and ungrateful vineyard'? read more

If I could leave 0 I would. The customer service is not that great. As a private party in a separate area being told that customers were listening to "Christmas music" so we needed to be quieter. Well I'm Jewish so Christmas music doesn't really matter to me. Also when I told them that their blatant preference for a Christian holiday was offensive they laughed and then said "oh you're serious?" When I made it clear that I was. Thanks for the anti semitism? The wine wasn't good enough for me to deal with their prejudice. Don't bother. read more

So much good to say about this place! We ordered from here for the first time during this covid time, so we weren't able to go inside, but the building from the outside is BEAUTIFUL and I can't wait to see inside when it's open again and sit out on their beautiful property and take the view in! The food was also amazing! We did a $50 deal tonight that provided a pizza, bread sticks, salad, desert and a growler of cider! We were so excited for this awesome deal! When we picked up our food, we noticed we accidentally got given a crowler instead of the full size growler, so we went back up to talk about it and they were so gracious to honor the mistake, let us take the crowler home, gave us the growler we were supposed to get and gave us ANOTHER crowler to apologize! SO awesome of them and I couldn't wait to get home to write a great review about it. So thank you again Grateful and we can't wait to eat from you guys again!! Go eat from them everyone, you won't be disappointed!! read more
